Abstract This research investigates the synthesis and characterization of hydrogel and cryogel microspheres that are doped with green synthesised silver nanoparticles (CS-AgNPs). Also, the study assesses the antibacterial activity of hydrogel and cryogel microspheres by comparing them with commercial antibiotics. The porous structure of CS and the adequate dispersion of AgNPs were confirmed by SEM and EDX techniques, respectively. The disk diffusion method and the optical density measurement (OD600) confirm the outstanding antimicrobial activity of CS-AgNPs hydrogel and cryogel microspheres in comparison to antibiotics for both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. The CS-AgNPs microspheres demonstrate promising antimicrobial and biocompatible agents for medical field applications.

Abstract Cellulite is a common cosmetic concern among postpubertal women. Despite its high prevalence, there have been only a few high-quality studies assessing its exact prevalence, risk factors, and pathophysiologic mechanisms. It has been difficult to achieve long-lasting results with the available treatments, including topical agents, energy-based devices, subcision, and injectables. In this review, the authors summarize the proposed etiologic factors, grading scales, and treatment options. Further well-designed studies are essential to improve our knowledge of the condition and lead to improved treatment strategies.

Abstract Sperm cryopreservation technology significantly contributes to the safeguarding of genetic resources, particularly for endangered species, and supports the use of artificial insemination in domestic animals. Therefore, cryopreservation can negatively affect sperm health and function leading to reduce the freezing ability and fertility potential. Therefore, it is essential to prioritize the improvement of cryotolerance in cryopreserved sperm to enhance reproductive efficiency and ensure sustainability in livestock herds. The main reason for sperm dysfunction after thawing may be related to the excessive amount of oxidative stress (OS) produced during cryopreservation. Scientists have different ways for counteracting this OS including the use of plant extracts, enzymes, minerals, anti-freezing proteins, and amino acids. Recently, one such amino acid is L-proline (LP), which has multiple roles such as osmotic and OS defense, nitrogen, and carbon metabolism, as well as cell survival and signaling. LP has been found in seminal plasma and has recently been added to the freezing extender to improve the various post-thaw parameters of sperm. This improvement is related to the ability of LP to reduce the OS, sustain the plasma membrane and to act as an osmoregulatory agent. Moreover, LP can suppress cell apoptosis by modulating intracellular redox in sperm. This review addresses the ongoing research on the addition of L-proline as an osmoregulatory agent in freezing extenders to increase the cryotolerance of animal spermatozoa to freeze-thaw.

Abstract This study intended to assess the properties of in-ovo administration of Melittin (MLT) on hatchability, chick yield, hematology, immunological indices and relative organs weight of Alexandria chickens at hatch. A total of 600 eggs with an average weight of (45.12 g), were gathered and split into five groups: a non-injected group or negative control (NC), a saline injection group or positive control (PC), and three concentrations of MLT (5, 10 and 15 µg of MLT per egg, respectively). On day 18 of incubation, eggs from the injection groups were injected into the amniotic fluid from the large end with the in-ovo injection solutions (0.2 ml per egg). Results indicated that 10 µg MLT/egg positively affected the weight and yield of chicks. In addition, our findings indicated that the in-ovo administration with 10 or 15 µg MLT/egg was superior in most of the immunological indicators (spleen and bursa relative weights, immunoglobulins IgG and IgM, T cells and B cells). In conclusion, in order to improve the immune efficiency (early immune acceleration) of Alexandria chicks, which may contribute to offering a significant boost to their future performance, this study suggests injecting eggs with 5 or 10 µg MLT/egg.

Abstract This contribution insight on the cytotoxic and anticancer activities and molecular mechanism of phyto-reduced silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) in MCF-7 breast cancer cell lines. A simple, entirely green synthesis process was optimized for the phyto-reduction of AgNP (~12.7 nm) using aqueous leaf extracts of Indigofera heterantha. The structural and vibrational properties of biosynthesized AgNPs were extensively characterized using UV-Vis spectrophotometer, x-ray diffraction (XRD), dynamic light scattering (DLS), and Fourier transform Infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), while their shape and morphology was studied through scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) cell viability assay indicates concentration dependent inhibition with IC
