Abstract In order to study the effect of the venting direction on explosion pressure in liquefied petroleum gas pipelines, explosion accident scenarios are experimentally tested and numerically simulated in a pipeline model with different explosion venting directions. In addition, the effect characteristic is analyzed through the pressure field varying with time and peak pressure varying with the distance. Results show that the pressure in the vertical branch decreases sharply, while the pressure in the horizontal branch does not show an obvious decrease with explosion venting of the vertical branch. However, the pressure decreases obviously in both branches with explosion venting of the horizontal branch, and the biggest reduction of peak pressure of monitoring points is 73.55% compared with that without venting. In addition, large areas of negative pressure appear in both branches with explosion venting of the vertical branch; however, a large area of negative pressure area appears in the horizontal branch with explosion venting of the horizontal branch. What is more, the arrival time of peak pressure in the main pipe of the explosion pipeline is significantly reduced with explosion venting, which is caused by the different generation ways of peak pressure. The effect analysis result of the venting direction on explosion pressure could aid the optimal layout design of LPG pipelines with the location of venting and important facilities as well as with the selection of negative-pressure-resistant material and higher-accuracy sensors.

Abstract Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and osteoarthritis (OA) are the most common joint disorders. Although they have shown analogous clinical manifestations, the pathogenesis of RA and OA are different. In this study, we used the online Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) microarray expression profiling dataset GSE153015 to identify gene signatures between RA and OA joints. The relevant data on 8 subjects obtained from large joints of RA patients (RA-LJ), 8 subjects obtained from small joints of RA patients (RA-SJ), and 4 subjects with OA were investigated. Differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were screened. Functional enrichment analysis of DEGs including the Gene Ontology terms and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathways were identified, which were mainly associated with T cell activation or chemokine activity. Besides, protein-protein interaction (PPI) network analysis was performed, and key modules were identified. Hub genes of RA-LJ and OA groups were screened, they were

Abstract Ferroptosis is a recently established type of iron-dependent programmed cell death. Growing studies have focused on the function of ferroptosis in cancers, including lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD). However, the factors involved in the regulation of ferroptosis-related genes are not fully understood. In this study, we collected data from lung adenocarcinoma datasets of the Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA-LUAD). The expression profiles of 60 ferroptosis-related genes were screened, and two differentially expressed ferroptosis subtypes were identified. We found the two ferroptosis subtypes can predict clinical outcomes and therapeutic responses in LUAD patients. Furthermore, key long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) were screened by single factor Cox and least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) based on which co-expressed with the 60 ferroptosis-related genes. We then established a risk score model which included 13 LUAD ferroptosis-related lncRNAs with a multi-factor Cox regression. The risk score model showed a good performance in evaluating the outcome of LUAD. What's more, we divided TCGA-LUAD tumor samples into two groups with high- and low-risk scores and further explored the differences in clinical characteristics, tumor mutation burden, and tumor immune cell infiltration among different LUAD tumor risk score groups and evaluate the predictive ability of risk score for immunotherapy benefit. Our findings provide good support for immunotherapy in LUAD in the future.

Abstract The ultra-fast laser heating process of nano-films is characterized by an ultra-short duration and ultra-small space size, in which the classical Fourier law based on the hypothesis of local equilibrium is no longer applicable. Based on the Cattaneo-Vernotte (CV) model and the dual-phase-lag (DPL) model, the two-dimensional analytical solutions of heat conduction in nano-films under ultra-fast laser are obtained using the integral transformation method. The results show that there is a thermal wave phenomenon inside the film, which becomes increasingly evident as the elapse of the lag time of the temperature gradient. Moreover, the wave amplitude in the vertical direction is much larger than that in the horizontal direction of the nano-film. By comparing the numerical result of the two models, it is found that the temperature distribution inside the nano-film based on the DPL model is gentler than that of the CV model. Additionally, the temperature distribution in the two-dimensional solution is lower than that in the one-dimensional solution under the same Knudsen number. In the comparison results of the CV model, the maximum peak difference in the thermal wave reaches 75.08 K when the Knudsen number is 1.0. This demonstrates that the horizontal energy carried by the laser source significantly impacts the temperature distribution within the film.
