Abstract The urban heat island (UHI) effect has become a hot topic in the global urban ecological environment. Research on the UHI effect is of great significance for alleviating urban environmental problems. Therefore, it has attracted the extensive attention of a large number of researchers in the field of urban environmental issues, such as urban ecologists, urban climatologists, urban planners, geographers, relevant policy makers, etc. However, systematic reviews are lacking on UHI research in the context of rapid urbanization and global change in recent years. In this study, we used Cite Space software to analyze the development process and current situation of UHI research from multiple perspectives during 2008–2021, aiming to reveal research hotspots and predict future trends. We found that UHI has gradually become a multidisciplinary field, and has existed in a flourishing period since 2008 with the rapid development of a number of publications. A large amount of research has been carried out by relevant institutions and scholars in 85 countries from 2008 to 2021. The hotspot research frontier focuses on the influencing factors, mitigation measures, and quantitative analysis of the UHI effect. Based on these trends and the status of the field, we proposed further research directions to promote interdisciplinary integration, optimize quantitative monitoring methods, strengthen the impact of three-dimensional urban landscape and vegetation landscape patterns, and expand the study of the urban agglomeration scale. Our results provide a valuable reference and potential frontier for future research in the field of the UHI effect.

Abstract Rapid urbanization and irrational human activities have induced in numerous environmental problems, seriously threatening regional ecological security. The establishment and optimization of ecological security patterns (ESPs) were considered as a nature-based solution and an effective way for sustainable development. In this study, the Guizhou Province, a representative karst mountainous region in the southwest of China, was used as the study region. The ecological sources were identified and optimized through integrating ecosystem services and landscape connectivity, and the ecological resistance surface was corrected by representative features of karst areas. The circuit theory was adopted to extract the ecological corridors and barriers. We found that the three ecosystem services (i.e., water conservation, biodiversity maintenance, and soil conservation) had remarkable spatial heterogeneity. The area of optimized ecological sources was enlarged 4752.14 km

Abstract In this paper, we present an interactive advertising system based on augmented reality(AR) called ARIAS, which is manipulated with gestures for displaying advertising videos. Two-dimensional markers are defined in the system. The system captures the frame data through the camera in real time, uses OpenCV library to identify the predefined markers, and calculates the pose of markers captured by the camera. With OpenGL library, a virtual cubic model is created at the position of the marker, and thus videos or images are displayed on the six faces of the cube. The virtual cube, together with the original frame data collected by the camera, is displayed in the interactive window to achieve the augmented reality effect. Customers are accessible to various advertising content by observing the marker from different positions. The system, meanwhile, supports gesture operation in order to make the customers pay attention to the content they are interested in with one hand. The MediaPipe Hand framework is used to extract the landmarks of hands, based on which, a series of gestures are designed for interactive operation. The efficiency and accuracy of the system are tested and analyzed with the result, indicating that the system has high reliability and good interactiveness. This system is open at https://github.com/wanzhuxie/ARIAS/tree/PLOS-ONE.

Abstract Purpose: We aimed to construct novel nomograms for nodal and distant metastasis for patients with G1 and G2 colorectal neuroendocrine tumors (NETs).
Methods: A training set and validation set were obtained by including G1 and G2 colorectal NET patients from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results database and the Cancer Hospital Chinese Academy of Medical Science, respectively. The area under curve (AUC) values under receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves, calibration plots, and the Hosmer‒Lemeshow tests were used to evaluate the discriminability and calibration of nomograms.
Results: In total, 3690 and 172 patients were included in the training set and validation set, respectively. Tumor size, location, and T stage were included in the nomogram predicting nodal metastasis. The AUC values of the nomogram were 0.972 (95% confidence interval (CI): 0.964-0.980) and 0.897 (95% CI: 0.846-0.948) in the training set and validation set, respectively. The calibration plots and Hosmer‒Lemeshow test for the training set (P = 0.999) and validation set (P = 0.537) showed good model calibration. Tumor size, T stage, and N stage were incorporated into the nomogram predicting distant metastasis. The ROC curves demonstrated desirable discrimination both in the training set (AUC = 0.938 (95% CI: 0.921-0.954)) and validation set (AUC = 0.938 (95% CI: 0.890-0.988)). The calibration curves and Hosmer‒Lemeshow test indicated acceptable model calibration both in the training set (P = 0.908) and validation set (P = 0.722).
Conclusion: The proposed nomograms may be used as a reliable tool to predict the nodal and distant metastasis in G1 and G2 colorectal NETs.

Abstract Background: Pneumonic-type lung adenocarcinoma (P-ADC) is a rare and challenging subtype of primary lung cancer that can be difficult to distinguish from pneumonia based on radiological images. Furthermore, no drugs are currently available that specifically target KRAS G12V.
Case presentation: Here we report a case of P-ADC with typical and informative imaging features throughout the course of the disease, including patchy shadows, high-density lesions with aerated bronchus, diffuse ground-glass opacities, and nodular shadows from computed tomography (CT) scan. The KRAS G12V mutation was detected using Next-generation sequencing (NGS). An individualized Afatinib-based therapeutic schedule was prescribed and achieved sustained response after multiple lines of treatment had failed.
Conclusion: Our case highlights the typical and dynamic changes in imaging features of P-ADC and provides an indicative treatment strategy for KRAS G12V-mutated lung adenocarcinoma.
