Abstract These days, photodetectors are a crucial part of optoelectronic devices, ranging from environmental monitoring to international communication systems. Therefore, fabricating these devices at a low cost but obtaining high sensitivity in a wide range of wavelengths is of great interest. This report introduces a simple solution-processed hybrid 2D structure of CuO and rGO for broadband photodetector applications. Particularly, 2D CuO acts as the active material, absorbing light to generate electron-hole pairs, while 2D rGO plays the role of a transport layer, driving charge carriers between two electrodes. Our device exhibits remarkable sensitivity to a wide wavelength range from 395 nm to 945 nm (vis-NIR region). Interestingly, our devices' responsivity and photoconductive gain were calculated (under 395 nm wavelength excitation) to be up to 8 mA W

Abstract Background: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients with sleep disorders may be at greater risk for respiratory exacerbation or death compared to those without. After being infected with COVID-19, patients have many symptoms related to sleep disorders, especially those with severe acute respiratory syndrome-coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection. This study aimed to evaluate sleep disturbances in patients with severe SARS-CoV-2 infection who were treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Methods: This cross-sectional study used the questionnaire provided by the Vietnam Sleep Disorder Study (ViSDiS) research, elaborated by the Vietnam Society of Sleep Medicine (VSSM). Seventy-seven COVID-19 patients were included.
Results: There was a significant difference in sleep status before and after SARS-CoV-2 infection among participants. Up to 83% of them reported experiencing insomnia after illness, 60% reported having frequent nightmares, and more than half of participants reported nocturia (
Conclusion: Sleep problems are highly prevalence among hospitalized patients with severe COVID-19 in the ICU. Healthcare providers should pay attention to sleep problems and their associated symptoms to initiate appropriate treatment to improve severe COVID-19 patients' health status and minimize the risk of death.

Abstract Primary hepatic schwannoma is an extremely rare tumor with a good prognosis. Preoperative diagnosis is often challenging due to nonspecific clinical symptoms and its rarity. Here, we report a case of a 56-year-old male patient misdiagnosed with malignant liver tumor, later identified as primary hepatic schwannoma. Furthermore, clinical and histopathological features of 19 cases of primary hepatic schwannoma are also documented. The age of the patients ranged from 38 to 72 years, with a mean age of 56.4 years, and the disease was more common in females. Patients typically presented without clinical symptoms and were not associated with neurofibromatosis type 1. Histopathological features of the tumor were similar to soft tissue schwannoma, characterized by a thick capsule consisting of Antoni A and Antoni B areas. Immunohistochemically, the tumor showed strong positivity and diffusely stained with S-100, while being negative for CD34, CD117, and SMA. Complete resection of the tumor was achieved in all patients. The prognosis was favorable, with no signs of recurrence. Follow-up examinations revealed disease-free survival ranging from 6 to 27 months. Differential diagnosis of primary hepatic schwannoma from malignant liver tumors and metastatic liver tumors can be made based on histopathological features and immunohistochemical staining with S-100.

Abstract The development of layered double hydroxide (LDH) nanosheets as nanocontainers has been intensively studied in recent years. Despite their potential for application on a large scale, their synthesis in an aqueous medium is rarely reported. Herein, we report a straightforward approach for the controllable synthesis of uniform MgAl-LDH nanosheets by an aqueous nucleation process followed by a hydrothermal treatment. The key to this method relies on the well-dispersed LDH nuclei that are produced by high-speed homogenization. Following the nucleation step, the coalescence of the aggregate hydroxide layers is diminished by hydraulic shear forces, leading to the disaggregation and even distribution of LDH nuclei. As a result, the oriented growth of individual crystals along the horizontal plane becomes predominant, leading to a high surface charge density of the hydroxide sheets and preventing their stacking. The electron microscope virtual proofs showed that the particles had a well-defined circular shape with a thickness of about 2-3 nm. Afterward, for the first time, LDH nanosheets were used to prepare LDH nanocontainers loaded with 2-benzothiazolythio-succinic acid (BTSA) by anion exchange. The incorporation of BTSA into the interlayer region and the emission behavior of the inhibitor were investigated. These results indicate that the prepared nanosheets can be utilized as effective nanocontainers for organic inhibitor loading and anti-corrosion application.

Abstract MnO₂ nanoparticles have played a vital role in biomedical, catalysis, electrochemical and energy storage fields, but requiring toxic chemicals in the fabrication intercepts their applications. There is an increasing demand for biosynthesis of MnO₂ nanoparticles using green sources such as plant species in accordance with the purposes of environmental mitigation and production cost reduction. Here, we review recent advancements on the use of natural compounds such as polyphenols, reducing sugars, quercetins, etc. Extracted directly from low-cost and available plants for biogenic synthesis of MnO₂ nanoparticles. Role of these phytochemicals and formation mechanism of bio-medicated MnO₂ nanoparticles are shed light on. MnO₂ nanoparticles own small particle size, high crystallinity, diverse morphology, high surface area and stability. Thanks to higher biocompatibility, bio-mediated synthesized MnO₂ nanoparticles exhibited better antibacterial, antifungal, and anticancer activity than chemically synthesized ones. In terms of wastewater treatment and energy storage, they also served as efficient adsorbents and catalyst. Moreover, several aspects of limitation and future outlook of bio-mediated MnO₂ nanoparticles in the fields are analyzed. It is expected that the present work not only expands systematic understandings of synthesis methods, properties and applications MnO₂ nanoparticles but also pave the way for the nanotechnology revolution in combination with green chemistry and sustainable development.
