Abstract Crustal properties of young oceanic lithosphere have been examined extensively, but the nature of the mantle lithosphere underneath remains elusive. Using a novel wide-angle seismic imaging technique, here we show the presence of two sub-horizontal reflections at ∼11 and ∼14.5 km below the seafloor over the 0.51-2.67 Ma old Juan de Fuca Plate. We find that the observed reflectors originate from 300-600-m-thick layers, with an ∼7-8% drop in P-wave velocity. They could be explained either by the presence of partially molten sills or frozen gabbroic sills. If partially molten, the shallower sill would define the base of a thin lithosphere with the constant thickness (11 km), requiring the presence of a mantle thermal anomaly extending up to 2.67 Ma. In contrast, if these reflections were frozen melt sills, they would imply the presence of thick young oceanic lithosphere (20-25 km), and extremely heterogeneous upper mantle.

Abstract The lithosphere-asthenosphere boundary (LAB) is the most prevalent plate boundary on earth, but its definition and nature remains a matter of debate. Using wide-angle ocean bottom seismic (OBS) data, here we present the very first reflection image of the LAB over young oceanic lithosphere. The OBS data were acquired in 1996 to image the crustal structure, but advanced processing of these data show the presence of two wide-angle reflections originating from within the mantle. We first perform forward modeling to exclude the possibility of multiples and show these events are real. Based on tomographic velocity model, we perform migration and find that these reflections are continuous over 25-30 km distance and originate at 14 km and 19 km below the sea surface for ~2.6 Ma Oceanic Lithosphere. These seismic reflections lie several kilometers below the Moho, and the seismic forward modeling requires these reflections to originate from velocity discontinuities, which could relate to the presence of melts in the mantle that create the low velocity anomalies, therefore we suggest that they may define the LAB. These observations provide constrain of the depth, distribution and physical properties of the LAB transition zone, combined with the recent study of Mehouachi and Singh (2018), suggest that the LAB could consists of melt rich layers.

Abstract Objective: The purpose of this study aimed to explore the new and serious adverse events(AEs) of Tacrolimus(FK506), cyclosporine(CsA), azathioprine(AZA), mycophenolate mofetil(MMF), cyclophosphamide(CTX) and methotrexate(MTX), which have not been concerned.
Methods: The FAERS data from January 2016 and December 2022 were selected for disproportionality analysis to discover the potential risks of traditional immunosuppressive drugs.
Results: Compared with CsA, FK506 has more frequent transplant rejection, and is more related to renal impairment, COVID-19, cytomegalovirus infection and aspergillus infection. However, CsA has a high infection-related fatality rate. In addition, we also found some serious and rare AE in other drugs which were rarely reported in previous studies. For example, AZA is closely related to hepatosplenic T-cell lymphoma with high fatality rate and MTX is strongly related to hypofibrinogenemia.
Conclusion: The AEs report on this study confirmed that the results were basically consistent with the previous studies, but there were also some important safety signals that were inconsistent with or not mentioned in previous published studies.
Expert opinion: The opinion section discusses some of the limitations and shortcomings, proposing the areas where more effort should be invested in order to improve the safety of immunosuppressive drugs.
