Abstract The nasal cavity is the inlet to the human respiratory system and is responsible for the olfactory sensation, filtering pollutant particulate matter, and humidifying the air. Many research studies have been performed to numerically predict allergens, contaminants, and/or drug particle deposition in the human nasal cavity; however, the majority of these investigations studied only one or a small number of nasal passages. In the present study, a series of Computed Tomography (CT) scan images of the nasal cavities from ten healthy subjects were collected and used to reconstruct accurate 3D models. All models were divided into twelve anatomical regions in order to study the transport and deposition features of different regions of the nasal cavity with specific functions. The flow field and micro-particle transport equations were solved, and the total and regional particle deposition fractions were evaluated for the rest and low activity breathing conditions. The results show that there are large variations among different subjects. The standard deviation of the total deposition fraction in the nasal cavities was the highest for

Abstract Anatomically accurate 3D models of 10 healthy nasal cavities are developed from computerized tomography (CT) scan images. Considering anatomical and physiological importance of different parts of the nasal cavity, the surface of each nasal passage is divided to eleven anatomical surfaces. Also the coronal cross sections in the nasal passage are divided to six sub-sections that share the total nasal passage airflow. The details of the flow field, heat transfer and water-vapor transport are numerically investigated for resting and low activity conditions. The mean and standard deviation of the different anatomical and air conditioning parameters such as: surface area, wall shear stress, heat and moisture transfer on different parts of the nasal passage surfaces and volume flow rates through different sections are presented. Results show that the percentages of airflow for inferior, middle and superior meatuses are 11.3 ± 6.4, 36.5 ± 9.5, 1.9 ± 0.81 % respectively and 4.1 ± 2.1 % of air passes through olfactory area. The inhaled air passing from the remaining surface (main passage) is 46.2 ± 10 %. Heat and moisture fluxes are highest in the anterior part of the nasal cavity, turbinates and lower part of the septum respectively. The percentage of the heat transfer from turbinates is 25.7 ± 3.9 % of total nasal heat transfer.

Abstract Background: Determination of maturation and evaluation of growth potential is extremely important in clinical orthodontics. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the diagnostic performance of the mandibular second molar calcification stages for identification of growth phases.
Material and methods: In this cross-sectional descriptive study, samples were derived from panoramic radiographs and lateral cephalograms of 125 subjects (61 males and 64 females) with age ranging from 8 to 17 years and estimates of dental maturity (Demirjian Index [DI]) and skeletal maturity (Cervical vertebral maturation indicators CVMI]) were made. Correlations between DI and CVMI were shown by Spearman's correlation. The diagnostic performance of the DI for the identification of the growth phase were evaluated using positive likelihood ratios (LHRs), with a threshold of ≥10 for satisfactory performance.
Results: Correlations between second molar calcification and growth phase were 0.819 for females and 0.805 for males (
Conclusions: In spite of the high correlation coefficients between mandibular second molar calcification stages and skeletal maturity, these stages are reliable only for the identification of the post pubertal growth phase.

Abstract Although a relatively new discipline, Knowledge Management (KM) is an area with a wide range of theoretical concepts and practical implications. The applicability of KM in different environments, and the vast value and benefits of its application, have led to great developments within the discipline over the last few years. The interdisciplinary nature of KM has also provided the opportunity for contributions by people from different disciplines, which in turn has lead to the rapid advancement of KM boundaries. This paper aims to examine the subject structure of the KM discipline through keyword analysis of documents in the Web of Science, using a hierarchical clustering approach and an inclusion index. Within the Web of Science categories, according to the findings, the three categories of "Management", "Computer Science Information Systems" and "Information Science Library Science" claim the highest number of documents in this area. Of 5570 author keywords, , 96 keywords are identified as "highly used" keywords. Three hierarchical clusters (dendrograms) are formed from co-occurrence analysis of highly used keywords in the three categories. A comparison of these denrograms indicates that six clusters, including a total of 16 keywords, are common in the three categories. Looking at clusters of the three categories revealed that two categories - Management and Information Science Library Science - have 14 common/shared clusters, and therefore the highest degree of similarities. However, the category of Computer Science Information Systems, with 28 unique clusters, differs most markedly from the other two categories. To investigate the rate of common keywords from one category to another, the inclusion index is calculated. Results of this exercise indicate that the category of Information Science Library Science has the highest number of common keywords.

Having long life and spend it in obedience to God from the perspective of Islamic teaching has introduced as a sign of prosperity and happiness. Although now a day proponents of long life pay more attention to researches of scientists, this article has explained the material factors of human long life from the Islamic perspective. God determines human lifespan but has given them opportunity to play the role in their life and accordance with the will of Almighty God, their life can be short or long. Human role in his life is to do things, live in a certain and normal life and die soon or late. However the effective factors on Reductions and increase of human life can be studied according to Islamic perspective (material and spiritual factors). This research reviewed the Material and spiritual factors affecting the longevity and by introducing fifteen material factors which increase human life span from the perspective of verses and Hadiths finally concluded many experimental factors increasing longevity were consistent with these factors. In a few cases, the vision outlined in Hadiths has raised new topics for research of medical scientist. Abstract Before the Islamic Revolution of Iran, the traditional Bazar was acting as an influential element in the civil society and could in collaboration with the clergy play an important role in putting the Pahlavi’s regime under pressure and bringing victory to the Islamic Revolution. In the post-Revolution era, however, the relation between Bazar and the State changed dramatically. To study this change, the hypothesis of this article has been made. This is a time when the traditional Bazar formally got engaged in politics and took up positions, hence losing some of its previous status in the civil society. After presenting some evidence through the historical research method, it seems the hypothesis can explain the realities of Bazar after the Revolution. The research results show that in the first decade after the Revolution we witness the formation of two different social and political sections in Iran’s Bazar, each having its own specific function.

Abstract The present methodology describes two efficient, eco-friendly, and simple routes for the cascade synthesis of biologically relevant pyrazole scaffolds using Ag/TiO2 nano-thin films as a green, robust, and recyclable catalyst. Ag/TiO2 nano-thin films were successfully applied for the synthesis of bis (pyrazol-5-ol) and dihydropyrano[2,3-c]pyrazole derivatives in the one-pot, multicomponent manner. These operationally straightforward procedures have merits, including high yields of products from a simple set of readily available starting materials, eco-friendliness, and heterogeneity and reusability of catalyst. Also, it was observed that the catalyst was highly stable during the reaction and several reuse times without observable losses in catalytic performance. Abstract Abstract Background: Birthweight less than 2500 grams is the major indicators of neonatal and infant health. The studies on animals show that copper and zinc deficiency in pregnancy is associated with fetal growth and congenital abnormalities. Therefore, our study was conducted to evaluate the role of these two elements on human embryos. Materials and Methods: In this descriptive study, cord blood of all infants born in Nik-Nafs Maternity of Rafsanjan was Collected for 1 year. Then, serum was separated and saved. In total, 64 samples including 9 infants with congenital anomalies, 21 infants with a weight equal to or less than 2500 grams and 34 healthy infants were selected randomly as control group. The level of copper and zinc in cord boold was measured by the spectrophotometric method and data analysis was carried out by SPSS 17 Software and statistical methods involving Chi-square, T-test and analysis of variznce. Results: No significant relation was shown between the levels of copper and zinc withbirth weight and congenital abnormalities. Also, there was not any significant correlation between these two teo elements and some pregnancy risk factors such as type of delivery, premature rupture of membrane, placental decolman, placental previa, preeclampsia, gravidity, height, head circumference and Apgar scores. Conclusion: The findings indicate that the levels of copper and zinc in cord blood are not associated with incidence of low birth weight, congenital malformations and pregnancy risk factors.

Abstract We have developed an efficient diastereoselective synthesis of poly-substituted hydroquinolines from commercially available starting materials, Meldrum’s acid, aromatic aldehydes and arylamines, in a simple and one-pot reaction using Brønsted acidic ionic liquid (4-sulfobutyl)-tris(4-sulfophenyl) phosphonium hydrogen sulfate. These three materials react together through pseudo-eight-components reaction to generate complex products with four stereocenters that involves ten new bond formations. This synthetic method can be a combination of Knoevenagel and Michael reactions.
