Abstract PRÁTICAS IDENTITARIAS DAS JUVENTUDES NEGRAS NO CHILE: interseções, visibilização e desafios para a investigação em terapias ocupacionais a partir do Sul IDENTITY PRACTICES OF BLACK YOUTH IN CHILE: intersections, visibility and challenges for research in occupational therapies from the south Resumen Este ensayo reflexivo está orientado a analizar la relevancia de investigar en torno a las juventudes negras en Chile y sus prácticas identitarias reivindicativas en el campo de las Terapias Ocupacionales desde el Sur. Atividade humana. Terapias ocupacionais do sul Abstract This reflective essay is aimed at analyzing the relevance of researching about black youths in Chile and their vindictive identity practices in the field of Occupational Therapies from the South. There is an active invisibility of Afro-descendant history in the country as a way to build a homogeneous Nation-State which is built on a structural racism from which racialized relations are reproduced in the social world. In this context, black youth are even more invisible, stigmatized and segregated, and it is relevant to know and make visible the identity practices of young Afro-Chileans, who through their daily collective actions support their struggle and resistance to their historical claim. Likewise, the importance of human activity is highlighted in the configuration of collective solidarity relations, contributing to the construction of anti-racist and decolonial practices of the Occupational Therapies of the South in recognition of the plurality of our Latin American territories. Key Words: Black Youth. Breed Production. Identity Practices. Human activity. Southern Occupational Therapies

Abstract Anemonefishes are an iconic group of coral reef fish particularly known for their mutualistic relationship with sea anemones. This mutualism is especially intriguing as it likely prompted the rapid diversification of anemonefish. Understanding the genomic architecture underlying this process has indeed become one of the holy grails of evolutionary research in these fishes. Recently, anemonefishes have also been used as a model system to study the molecular basis of highly complex traits such as color patterning, social sex change, larval dispersal and life span. Extensive genomic resources including several high-quality reference genomes, a linkage map, and various genetic tools have indeed enabled the identification of genomic features controlling some of these fascinating attributes, but also provided insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying adaptive responses to changing environments. Here, we review the latest findings and new avenues of research that have led to this group of fish being regarded as a model for evolutionary genomics.

Abstract This study investigates the effectiveness of a computerized cognitive test battery embedded within a video game to assess executive functions (EF) in deaf and hearing children. We evaluated a diverse cohort of 290 elementary school students aged 5 to 13 years (mean age = 8.86, SD = 1.96), comprising 74 sign language users, 14 Spanish-speaking deaf participants, 23 children with mixed communication methods, and 179 typically hearing individuals. Our statistical analysis focused on item discrimination, reliability, and criterion validation of the game-based assessments. The results indicated high reliability and effective discrimination of EF across the game's three primary stages. External validation was conducted using the Matrices Test, educational attainment, and age as variables. A significant positive correlation (r = 0.377,

Abstract The article is the result of a doctoral research project that addressed the issue of contemporary indigenous policies by analyzing the formation and use of transnational networks of indigenous organizations within the context of socio-environmental conflicts. It was a case study involving a transnational indigenous coalition and three socio-environmental conflicts caused by the installation and development of extractive exploitation projects. The theoretical focus entailed a review of the concepts of civil society, transnational social movements, and ethnicity. The last of these was done considering that ethnic vindication is explained by the formation of supra-local and transnational ties. In the case analyzed, the leading role played by non-governmental organizations within this network was evident.

Abstract Aim: Angiogenesis contributes to the development of apical periodontitis, periodontitis, and other oral pathologies; however, it remains unclear how this process is triggered. The aim was to evaluate whether lipopolysaccharide (LPS) from Porphyromonas endodontalis and Porphyromonas gingivalis induced angiogenesis-related effects in vitro via TLR2 and TLR4.
Methodology: Porphyromonas endodontalis LPS (ATCC 35406 and clinical isolate) was purified with TRIzol, whereas P. gingivalis LPS was obtained commercially. The effects of the different LPS (24 h) in endothelial cell migration were analysed by Transwell assays, following quantification in an optical microscope (40×). The effects of LPS on FAK Y397 phosphorylation were assessed by Western blotting. Angiogenesis in vitro was determined in an endothelial tube formation assay (14 h) in Matrigel in the absence or presence of either LPS. IL-6 and VEGF-A levels were determined in cell supernatants, following 24 h treatment with LPS, and measured in multiplex bead immunoassay. The involvement of TLR2 and TLR4 was assessed with blocking antibodies. The statistical analysis was performed using STATA 12® (StataCorp LP).
Results: The results revealed that P. endodontalis LPS, but not P. gingivalis LPS, stimulated endothelial cell migration. Pre-treatment with anti-TLR2 and anti-TLR4 antibodies prevented P. endodontalis LPS-induced cell migration. P. endodontalis LPS promoted FAK phosphorylation on Y397, as observed by an increased p-FAK/FAK ratio. Both P. gingivalis and P. endodontalis LPS (ATCC 35406) induced endothelial tube formation in a TLR-2 and -4-dependent manner, as shown by using blocking antibodies, however, only TLR2 blocking decreased tube formation induced by P. endodontalis (clinical isolate). Moreover, all LPS induced IL-6 and VEGF-A synthesis in endothelial cells. TLR2 and TLR4 were required for IL-6 induction by P. endodontalis LPS (ATCC 35406), while only TLR4 was involved in IL-6 secretion by the other LPS. Finally, VEGF-A synthesis did not require TLR signalling.
Conclusion: Porphyromonas endodontalis and P. gingivalis LPS induced angiogenesis via TLR2 and TLR4. Collectively, these data contribute to understanding the role of LPS from Porphyromonas spp. in angiogenesis and TLR involvement.
