    Abstract: ... 2)CuLn(H2O)5(μ-NC)M(CN)7], were obtained from the association of binuclear 3d-4f complexes and {M(V ... CN)8}(3-) metalloligands (M = Mo, Ln = La ... M = W, Ln = La ...

    Abstract Four isostructural trinuclear 3d-4f-4(5)d heterotrimetallic complexes, with the general formula [L(2)CuLn(H2O)5(μ-NC)M(CN)7], were obtained from the association of binuclear 3d-4f complexes and {M(V)(CN)8}(3-) metalloligands (M = Mo, Ln = La

    M = W, Ln = La

    M = Mo, Ln = Gd

    M = Mo; Ln = Tb , where H2L(2) = 1,2-ethanediylbis(2-iminomethylene-6-methoxy-phenol)). The metalloligand coordinates through a single-cyanido group at the apical position of the copper(ii) ion belonging to the {Cu(II)Ln(III)} binuclear complex. The analysis of the magnetic data for the La(iii) derivatives (compounds and ), in the 1.85-300 K temperature range, shows a weak ferromagnetic exchange interaction between Cu(II) and Mo(V)/W(V) ions across the cyanido bridge (JCuM/kB = 3.6(6) K; g = 2.23(5) for and JCuM/kB = 3.8(6) K, g = 2.21(5) for , with H = -2JCuMSCu·SM). These results were used to simulate the magnetic properties of compound , using the isotropic spin Hamiltonian H = -2JCuMoSCu·SMo - 2JCuGdSCu·SGd. The resulting magnetic interaction between Cu(II) and Gd(III) ions via the phenoxo-bridge was found to be weakly ferromagnetic (JCuGd/kB = +4.5(2) K with JCuMo/kB = +3.6(2) K, gGd = gCu = 2.00 and gMo = 1.98). The dc magnetic properties for compound also show a predominant ferromagnetic interaction, while the ac magnetic measurements indicate the presence of the slow relaxation of the magnetization below 3.5 K.

    Abstract Two-dimensional III–V materials such as GaN have been realized experimentally in recent years. While their pristine two-dimensional structures have been studied in detail in previous works, the effect of the environment, such as hydrogen passivation, remains unclear. In the present work, new stable buckled structures of hydrogenated bilayer GaN are uncovered using first-principles calculations. It is shown that different types of structures are favored, depending on the hydrogen concentration. Interestingly, in several cases, structures along the a- or m-plane are the most stable, instead of the often-studied c-plane, with a significant difference in their properties. First-principles molecular dynamics (FPMD) simulations confirm that these structures are stable at a finite temperature. Therefore, the process used to grow two-dimensional GaN can be adjusted to tailor its atomic structure and properties.

    Abstract Land cover maps contribute to a large diversity of geospatial applications, including but not limited to land management, hydrology, land use planning, climate modeling and biodiversity monitoring. In densely populated and highly fragmented landscapes as observed in the Walloon region (Belgium), very high spatial resolution is required to depict all the infrastructures, buildings and most of the structural elements of the semi-natural landscapes (like hedges and small water bodies). Because of the resolution, the vertical dimension needs explicit handling to avoid discontinuities incompatible with many applications. For example, how to map a river flowing under a bridge? The particularity of our data is to provide a two-digit land cover code to label all the overlapping items. The identification of all the overlaps resulted from the combination of remote sensing image analysis and decision rules involving ancillary data. The final product is therefore semantically precise and accurate in terms of land cover description thanks to the addition of 24 classes on top of the 11 pure land cover classes. The quality of the map has been assessed using a state-of-the-art validation scheme. Its overall accuracy is as high as 91.5%, with an average producer’s accuracy of 86% and an average user’s accuracy of 91%.

    Abstract Das Burnout-Syndrom ist heute in Gesellschaft und Medien allgegenwärtig. Es gilt als arbeitsbedingte Stresserkrankung, die durch einen anhaltenden Erschöpfungszustand, emotionale Abflachung und Leistungsbeeinträchtigung gekennzeichnet ist. Aufgrund fehlender diagnostischer Leitlinien ist das Interesse an einer wissenschaftlichen Auseinandersetzung mit der Thematik aber eher gering. Somit wird das „Phänomen Burnout“ oftmals als Modediagnose unserer leistungsgeprägten Arbeitswelt abgetan. Der s...
