    Abstract The most precise measurements to date of the _{Λ}^{3}H lifetime τ and Λ separation energy B_{Λ} are obtained using the data sample of Pb-Pb collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.02  TeV collected by ALICE at the LHC. The _{Λ}^{3}H is reconstructed via its charged two-body mesonic decay channel (_{Λ}^{3}H→^{3}He+π^{-} and the charge-conjugate process). The measured values τ=[253±11(stat)±6(syst)]  ps and B_{Λ}=[102±63(stat)±67(syst)]  keV are compatible with predictions from effective field theories and confirm that the _{Λ}^{3}H structure is consistent with a weakly bound system.

    Abstract The observation of Higgs boson production in association with a top quark-antiquark pair is reported, based on a combined analysis of proton-proton collision data at center-of-mass energies of sqrt[s]=7, 8, and 13 TeV, corresponding to integrated luminosities of up to 5.1, 19.7, and 35.9  fb^{-1}, respectively. The data were collected with the CMS detector at the CERN LHC. The results of statistically independent searches for Higgs bosons produced in conjunction with a top quark-antiquark pair and decaying to pairs of W bosons, Z bosons, photons, τ leptons, or bottom quark jets are combined to maximize sensitivity. An excess of events is observed, with a significance of 5.2 standard deviations, over the expectation from the background-only hypothesis. The corresponding expected significance from the standard model for a Higgs boson mass of 125.09 GeV is 4.2 standard deviations. The combined best fit signal strength normalized to the standard model prediction is 1.26_{-0.26}^{+0.31}.

    Abstract Summary: Background: It is not known whether to continue or temporarily stop existing antihypertensive drugs in patients with acute stroke. Methods: We performed a prospective subgroup analysis of patients enrolled into the Efficacy of Nitric Oxide in Stroke (ENOS) trial who were randomised to continue vs stop prior antihypertensive therapy within 12 h of stroke onset. The primary outcome was functional outcome, assessed with the modified Rankin Scale at 90 days by observers blinded to treatment assignment, and analysed with ordinal logistic regression. Findings: Of 4011 patients recruited into ENOS from 2001 to 2014, 2097 patients were randomised to continue vs stop prior antihypertensive treatment, and 384 (18.3%, continue 185, stop 199) were enrolled within 12 h of ictus: mean (SD) age 71.8 (11.8) years, female 193 (50.3%), ischaemic stroke 342 (89.1%) and total anterior circulation syndrome 114 (29.7%). As compared with stopping, continuing treatment within 12 h of onset lowered blood pressure by 15.5/9.6 mmHg (p<0.001/<0.001) by 7 days, shifted the modified Rankin Scale to a worse outcome by day 90, adjusted common odds ratio (OR) 1.46 (95% CI 1.01–2.11), and was associated with an increased death rate by day 90 (hazard ratio 2.17, 95% CI 1.24–3.79). Other outcomes (disability - Barthel Index, quality of life - EQ-visual analogue scale, cognition - telephone mini-mental state examination, and mood - Zung depression scale) were also worse with continuing treatment. Interpretation: In this pre-specified subgroup analysis of the large ENOS trial, continuing prior antihypertensive therapy within 12 h of stroke onset in a predominantly ischaemic stroke population was unsafe with worse functional outcome, disability, cognition, mood, quality of life and increased death. Future studies assessing continuing or stopping prior antihypertensives in the context of thrombectomy are awaited.

    Abstract A search for time-integrated CP violation in D(0)→h(-)h(+) (h=K, π) decays is presented using 0.62 fb(-1) of data collected by LHCb in 2011. The flavor of the charm meson is determined by the charge of the slow pion in the D(*+)→D(0)π(+) and D(*-)→D[over ¯](0)π(-) decay chains. The difference in CP asymmetry between D(0)→K(-)K(+) and D(0)→π(-)π(+), ΔA(CP)≡A(CP)(K(-)K(+))-A(CP)(π(-)π(+)), is measured to be [-0.82±0.21(stat)±0.11(syst)]%. This differs from the hypothesis of CP conservation by 3.5 standard deviations.

    Abstract Ten hadronic final states of the $h_c$ decays are investigated via the process $\psi(3686)\rightarrow \pi^0 h_c$, using a data sample of $(448.1 \pm 2.9) \times 10^6$ $\psi(3686)$ events collected with the BESIII detector. The decay channel $h_c\rightarrow K^{+}K^{-}\pi^{+}\pi^{-}\pi^{0}$ is observed for the first time with a significance of $6.0 \sigma$. The corresponding branching fraction is determined to be $\mathcal{B}(h_c\rightarrow K^{+}K^{-}\pi^{+}\pi^{-}\pi^{0}) =(3.3 \pm 0.6 \pm 0.6)\times 10^{-3}$ (the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematical). Evidence for the decays $h_c\rightarrow \pi^{+} \pi^{-} \pi^{0} \eta$ and $h_c\rightarrow K^{0}_{S}K^{\pm}\pi^{\mp}\pi^{+}\pi^{-}$ is found with a significance of $3.6 \sigma$ and $3.8 \sigma$, respectively. The corresponding branching fractions (and upper limits) are obtained to be $\mathcal{B}(h_c\rightarrow \pi^{+} \pi^{-} \pi^{0} \eta ) =(7.2 \pm 1.8 \pm 1.3)\times 10^{-3}$ $(< 1.8 \times 10^{-2})$ and $\mathcal{B}(h_c\rightarrow K^{0}_{S}K^{\pm}\pi^{\mp}\pi^{+}\pi^{-}) =(2.8 \pm 0.9 \pm 0.5)\times 10^{-3}$ $(<4.7\times 10^{-3})$. Upper limits on the branching fractions for the final states $h_c \rightarrow K^{+}K^{-}\pi^{0}$, $K^{+}K^{-}\eta$, $K^{+}K^{-}\pi^{+}\pi^{-}\eta$, $2(K^{+}K^{-})\pi^{0}$, $K^{+}K^{-}\pi^{0}\eta$, $K^{0}_{S}K^{\pm}\pi^{\mp}$, and $p\bar{p}\pi^{0}\pi^{0}$ are determined at a confidence level of 90\%.

    Abstract Objective: The purpose of this study was to quantify the measurement error of 3D kinematic and kinetic measures during overground endurance running between two sessions separated by 48 h.
    Approach: Thirteen recreational runners were assessed on two occasions while running overground, over embedded force plates and through an array of 3D cameras.
    Main results: In the sagittal, frontal and transverse planes, over the entire stance phase, the typical error of kinematic variables ranged from 1.33°-6.16° for the hip, 1.38°-6.01° for the knee and 0.48°-7.36° for the ankle. Over the same time period and planes typical error of peak-joint moments ranged from 0.04-0.54 Nm · Kg
    Significance: Results suggest 3D kinematic and kinetic measures of the stance phase in overground-endurance running are reliable between sessions separated by 48 h. The measurement error reported here could inform sample-size estimates for future studies and provide smallest-detectable changes for the interpretation of interventions performed over a similar time scale.

    Abstract Using 586  pb(-1) of e+ e- collision data at E(c.m.) = 4170  MeV, produced at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring collider and collected with the CLEO-c detector, we observe the process e+ e- → π+ π- h(c)(1P). We measure its cross section to be 15.6±2.3±1.9±3.0  pb, where the third error is due to the external uncertainty on the branching fraction of ψ(2S) → π0 h(c)(1P), which we use for normalization. We also find evidence for e+ e- → ηh(c)(1P) at 4170 MeV at the 3σ level and see hints of a rise in the e+ e- → π+ π- h(c)(1P) cross section at 4260 MeV.

    Abstract We have developed a radioligand binding assay based on the use of hypothalamic slices and have examined the ontogenesis of [(3)H]naloxone binding sites in male and female rats. [(3)H]NAL binding is reversible, saturable, stereospecific, of high affinity, readily displaceable by morphine and is sensitive to phenoxybenzamine. These characteristics suggest that [(3)H]NAL readily binds to opiate receptors in brain slices. With this assay we have demonstrated that: (a) there is an age-related increase in opiate binding sites in rat hypothalamus, (b) there are sex differences in the binding affinity of the sites and (c) the values of Bmax are approximately 2-5-fold higher than the levels previously reported from assays with brain homogenates.
