Abstract: ... social determinants of health, and survey week. The population-based, U.S. Census Bureau Household Pulse ...

Abstract Background: Although individuals with vision impairment are at greater risk for depression and anxiety, there has been limited study of mental healthcare utilization among this population.
Objectives: To address this gap, this pooled cross-sectional study estimates the prevalence of mental healthcare utilization among individuals with vision impairment during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Methods: We calculated adjusted relative risk ratios and 95% confidence intervals of depression and/or anxiety symptoms and mental healthcare utilization using multinomial logistic regression, accounting for demographics, social determinants of health, and survey week. The population-based, U.S. Census Bureau Household Pulse Survey was administered April 2021-March 2022. Participants included 800,935 US adults (weighted population: 174,598,530) RESULTS: Adjusting for other factors, adults with vision impairment were more likely to report depression symptoms (RRR: 2.33; 95% CI: 2.03-2.68), anxiety symptoms (RRR: 2.12; 95% CI: 1.94-2.33, and comorbid depression and anxiety symptoms (RRR: 3.77; 95% CI: 3.51-4.04) compared with individuals with no vision impairment. Among individuals reporting anxiety or depression symptoms, individuals with vision impairment (RRR: 1.46; 95% CI: 1.35-1.59) were more likely to lack of mental healthcare utilization compared with individuals with no vision impairment.
Conclusion: Findings suggest that individuals with vision impairment are at increased risk for depression and/or anxiety symptoms and report reduced mental healthcare utilization compared with individuals without vision impairment. Additional programs and policies are needed to improve mental healthcare utilization among individuals with vision impairment and depression and/or anxiety symptoms, such as increased telehealth accessibility and coordination of behavioral health and ophthalmology services.

Abstract Introduction: Statins are known to have anticoagulation and anti-inflammatory effects. This study aimed to investigate the effect of Rosuvastatin in reduction of post thrombotic syndrome (PTS) following deep vein thrombosis (DVT).
Methods: In this randomized clinical trial, patients who were diagnosed with DVT of lower extremity were randomly assigned to 4 treatment groups: group 1: Warfarin, group 2: Warfarin + Rosuvastatin, group 3: Rivaroxaban, and group 4: Rivaroxaban + Rosuvastatin. The treatments were followed for 3 months and prevalence of PTS (as primary outcome), as well as the changes in serum levels of D-dimer and C reactive protein (CRP), and the extent of thrombosis before and after the intervention (as secondary outcomes) were compared between groups.
Results: 182 patients with the mean age of 55.22 ± 4.1 years finished the trial period (51.64% male). There was no significant difference between the groups regarding the baseline characteristics. Based on the Brandjes score, 31 (17.03%) patients had PTS at the end of the study. The occurrence of PTS was significantly lower in the groups taking statins (p<0.0001). Although the change in the mean difference of legs circumference before and after intervention, were significant in all groups (p < 0.05), the differences was more prominent in groups 2 and 4 (p < 0.0001). After 3 months of taking medication, decrease of CRP was more prominent in the statin groups (p = 0.001), and most cases with normal CRP were in statin groups. Among the patients with the serum D-dimer level above 10000 ng/mL, patients in the statin groups experienced significantly more reduction in D-dimer levels than the other groups (p<0.001).
Conclusion: Rosuvastatin administration in combination with rivaroxaban or warfarin significantly reduces the level of inflammatory factors including CRP and D-dimer, compared to patients receiving anticoagulants alone. Rosuvastatin administration can significantly reduce the incidence of PTS and cause a difference in the size of the lower limbs within 3 months.

Abstract Sugarcane is an industrial crop globally used for producing biofuels and bioproducts and is the only source of white sugar in Bangladesh. However, labour-dependent cultivation and climate change are responsible for the higher production costs and lower yield of sugarcane, and these factors are barriers to sustainable sugarcane farming in Bangladesh. In this paper, the prospects of existing sugarcane farming practices are described, and some improved cultivation and management practices addressing the principles of conservation agriculture (CA) in overcoming these barriers are evaluated. Excessive tillage, burning of trash after harvesting, and mono-cropping have been identified as crucial factors that increase sugarcane production cost, deteriorating soil health, and decreasing cane yields. Several improved conservation tillage machines used for cereals, pulse, and other crops are becoming more accessible to farmers in Bangladesh, but these machines are not used for sugarcane crops. Minimum tillage can also be a resource-saving tillage option for cultivating sugarcane but is limited in sugarcane production owing to the absence of suitable machinery. However, the irrational removal and burning of the residue in the sugarcane farming systems may have adverse effects on the environment. Intercropping not only increases economic benefits but also minimises the negative impact of mono-cropping. We suggest that minimum tillage, residue mulching, and intercropping should be applied as profitable and sustainable cultivation practices in sugarcane farming. Therefore, both research and extension activities addressing the use of appropriate CA technologies, including conservation tillage machinery improvements, could help to achieve sustainable sugarcane farming in Bangladesh.

Abstract Objective: To evaluate the impact of physical rehabilitation interventions, supplemented with one or more adherence-enhancing components, on outcomes among adults with hip or knee osteoarthritis or chronic lower back pain.
Design: Primary literature search from inception of each database to July 27, 2021, guided by relevant search terms and keywords to search titles and abstracts. All articles meeting eligibility criteria were included for data abstraction.
Data sources: MEDLINE, CINAHL Complete, and Embase.
Eligibility criteria for selecting studies: Randomized and nonrandomized trials evaluating adherence-focused intervention components conducted in addition to an index usual care or usual care-like physical rehabilitation program among adults with hip or knee osteoarthritis or chronic low back pain. Eligible studies included a comparator group of the same index physical rehabilitation intervention without the adjunctive adherence components. Included studies measured outcomes at least 3 months after the rehabilitation course.
Results: Of the 10 studies meeting inclusion criteria, 6 interventions were delivered concurrent to an index rehabilitation program and 4 were delivered sequentially. Of the 3 studies that reported a positive effect on long-term adherence, only 1 was a low risk of bias study. There is very limited evidence of a beneficial treatment effect of adjunct adherence interventions on long-term physical function, self-efficacy, or adverse events.
Conclusion: We found inadequate evidence evaluating adherence-enhancing interventions for the specific promotion of long-term adherence to home rehabilitation programs. Future studies should consider testing interventions specifically built to target behavioral maintenance of home rehabilitation programs.

Abstract Background: Management of depression in the oncology population includes supportive psychotherapeutic interventions with or without psychotropic medication, which take time to demonstrate effectiveness. Fast-acting interventions, like ketamine, can provide a rapid antidepressant effect; however, there has been limited research on effects of ketamine among cancer patients. The objective of this review is to provide an overview of research on the efficacy and safety of ketamine on depression in patients with cancer.
Methods: We reviewed the published literature in MEDLINE® (via PubMed®), EMBASE, and Scopus from 1 January 1982 to 20 October 2022. We screened the retrieved abstracts against inclusion criteria and conducted a full-text review of eligible studies. Following extraction of data from included studies, we used a framework analysis approach to summarize the evidence on using ketamine in patients with cancer.
Results: All 5 included studies were randomized clinical trials conducted in inpatient settings in China. In all included studies ketamine was administered intravenously. Three studies used only racemic ketamine, and two studies used both S-ketamine and racemic ketamine. All included studies reported ketamine a tolerable and effective drug to control depression symptoms.
Conclusion: Included studies showed administration of sub-anesthesia ketamine significantly improves postoperative depression among patients with cancer.

Abstract Background: Refinement of the risk classification for localized prostate cancer is warranted to aid in clinical decision making. A systematic analysis was undertaken to evaluate the prognostic ability of three genomic classifiers, Decipher, GPS, and Prolaris, for biochemical recurrence, development of metastases and prostate cancer-specific mortality in patients with localized prostate cancer.
Methods: Data sources: MEDLINE, Embase, and Web of Science were queried for reports published from January 2010 to April 2022.
Study selection: prospective or retrospective studies reporting prognosis for patients with localized prostate cancer.
Data extraction: relevant data were extracted into a customized database by one researcher with a second overreading. Risk of bias was assessed using a validated tool for prognostic studies, Quality in Prognosis Studies (QUIPS). Disagreements were resolved by consensus or by input from a third reviewer. We assessed the certainty of evidence by GRADE incorporating adaptation for prognostic studies.
Results: Data synthesis: a total of 39 studies (37 retrospective) involving over 10,000 patients were identified. Twenty-two assessed Decipher, 5 GPS, and 14 Prolaris. Thirty-four studies included patients who underwent prostatectomy. Based on very low to low certainty of evidence, each of the three genomic classifiers modestly improved upon the prognostic ability for biochemical recurrence, development of metastases, and prostate cancer-specific mortality compared to standard clinical risk-classification schemes.
Limitations: downgrading of confidence in the evidence stemmed largely from bias due to the retrospective nature of the studies, heterogeneity in treatment received, and era in which patients were treated (i.e., prior to the 2000s).
Conclusions: Genomic classifiers provide a small but consistent improvement upon the prognostic ability of clinical classification schemes, which may be helpful when treatment decisions are uncertain. However, evidence from current management-era data and of the predictive ability of these tests is needed.
