Abstract Along with the adoption of hybrid teaching and learning modes, the integration of ICT into language instruction in higher education during the COVID-19 pandemic has afforded teachers and students increased opportunities to engage with technology. This quantitative study uses a self-report questionnaire to examine language learners' attitudes and behavior tied to the role of ICT in learning before and after the COVID-19 pandemic. Firstly, the study confirms the questionnaire's validity for assessing ICT attitudes and behavior in the Hungarian educational context. Additionally, the measurement invariance and differential item functioning of the assessment tool pre- and post-COVID-19 show that attitudes and the frequency of ICT use remain consistent at both the construct and item levels. Overall, the results demonstrate significant variations between the two student groups in attitudes and behavior tied to the use of ICT tools in language learning. The findings show that the post-COVID-19 group exhibits higher attitudes, and an increased frequency of technology use is observed compared to the pre-COVID-19 period. Furthermore, the study indicates that attitudes before COVID-19 do not strongly influence habitual technology use for language learning, while the opposite is true for the post-COVID-19 period.

Abstract Similar to most anthraquinone compounds, the pharmacological properties of emodin are limited because of its low water solubility. In this study, the formulation of chitosan and emodin (EMD/CS) was prepared by a bottom-up method with precipitation and sonication steps in order to enhance the solubility of emodin. Thanks to the interactions of oxygen-and nitrogen-containing groups in chitosan with emodin molecules, the solubility of emodin in the formulation was remarkably increased to 0.5 mg/mL. The EMD/CS particles were well dispersed and distributed in a range of sub-micrometer with an average particle size of 342 nm. The EMD/CS formulation exhibited synergic antibacterial activity of emodin and chitosan, against drug-resistant bacterial strains, namely Methicillin-resistant

Abstract Background: The increased number of cases of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) as a zoonosis has raised concerns in terms of poultry and human health. Farmers' preventive practices are an effective way of reducing zoonosis. However, this practice may have been affected by many factors, including production behaviors, awareness, and farmers' perceptions of farmers toward zoonosis.
Aim: This study was conducted on 166 poultry farms in Tra Vinh Province with 14,894 poultry heads to determine the socioeconomic profiles and production characteristics of poultry farms and analyze the effect of these factors on HPAI vaccination practices.
Methods: Respondents were selected from lists provided by government officers. Descriptive statistics were used to describe all variables, and factors affecting HPAI vaccination practices were analyzed using binary regression analysis.
Results: The results showed that most farmers raised poultry with other livestock using the free-range method, which is a semi-intensive system. The primary objectives of poultry farming are meat sales and augmenting household consumption, with farmers primarily raising chicks produced on their farms. The implementation of the vaccine was less than 50% on the surveyed farms, with a small number of farmers administering an HPAI booster dose. However, only 6% of the farmers confirmed that their livestock had been exposed to HPAI. In addition, HPAI vaccination and booster dose practices significantly increased when farmers had 4-6 family members and received HPAI prevention training. Moreover, increased poultry numbers have led to increased vaccination rates and the implementation of booster doses for poultry. The study also reported that the vaccination rate decreased when poultry was used for household consumption.
Conclusion: Sociodemographic characteristics and production behaviors can affect the implementation of HPAI vaccination on small poultry farms.

Abstract Background: Chiari malformation is one of the most common Central nervous system (CNS) abnormalities that can be detected in routine fetal scanning. Chiari malformation type I (CMI) is a congenital defect characterized by a displacement of the cerebellar tonsils through the foramen magnum. The etiology of CMI has not been well established and suggested having multifactorial contributions, especially genetic deletion. Clinical characteristics of this anomaly may express in different symptoms from neurological dysfunction and/or skeletal abnormalities in the later age, but it is rarely reported in pregnancy.
Case presentation: We present a case in which the Chiari malformation type I was diagnosed with comorbidities of facial anomalies (flatting forehead and micrognathia) and muscular-skeletal dysmorphologies (clenched hands and clubfeet) at the 24
Conclusion: CMI may only represent with facial abnormalities and muscle-skeletal malformations at the early stage of pregnancy, which may also alert an adverse outcome. A novel heterozygous NFIA gene mutation identified after birth helps to confirm prenatal diagnosis of CMI and to provide an appropriate consultation.

Abstract Persistent diarrhea is a severe gastroenteric disease with relatively high risk of pediatric mortality in developing countries. We conducted a randomized, double-blind, controlled clinical trial to evaluate the efficacy of liquid-form Bacillus clausii spore probiotics (LiveSpo CLAUSY; 2 billion CFU/5 mL ampoule) at high dosages of 4-6 ampoules a day in supporting treatment of children with persistent diarrhea. Our findings showed that B. clausii spores significantly improved treatment outcomes, resulting in a 2-day shorter recovery period (p < 0.05) and a 1.5-1.6 folds greater efficacy in reducing diarrhea symptoms, such as high frequency of bowel movement of ≥ 3 stools a day, presence of fecal mucus, and diapered infant stool scale types 4-5B. LiveSpo CLAUSY supportive treatment achieved 3 days (p < 0.0001) faster recovery from diarrhea disease, with 1.6-fold improved treatment efficacy. At day 5 of treatment, a significant decrease in blood levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines TNF-α, IL-17, and IL-23 by 3.24% (p = 0.0409), 29.76% (p = 0.0001), and 10.87% (p = 0.0036), respectively, was observed in the Clausy group. Simultaneously, there was a significant 37.97% decrease (p = 0.0326) in the excreted IgA in stool at day 5 in the Clausy group. Overall, the clinical study demonstrates the efficacy of B. clausii spores (LiveSpo CLAUSY) as an effective symptomatic treatment and immunomodulatory agent for persistent diarrhea in children.Trial registration: NCT05812820.
