Abstract Tuning the electron-donating ability (EDA) of the donor units of hole transporting materials (HTMs) is an efficient strategy to modulate the optoelectronic properties of HTMs. Based on this strategy, we first theoretically investigated the effects of the EDA of donor units on D-A-π-A-D architectural HTMs. The results show that the enhanced EDA of the donor unit leads to larger hole reorganization energy and poorer molecular stability of HTMs. In contrast,

Abstract Unraveling the configuration-activity relationship and synergistic enhancement mechanism (such as real active center, electron spin-state, and d-orbital energy level) for triatomic catalysts, as well as their intrinsically bifunctional oxygen electrocatalysis, is a great challenge. Here we present a triatomic catalyst (TAC) with a trinuclear active structure that displays extraordinary oxygen electrocatalysis for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) and oxygen evolution reaction (OER), greatly outperforming the counterpart of single-atom and diatomic catalysts. The aqueous Zn-air battery (ZAB) equipped with a TAC-based cathode exhibits extraordinary rechargeable stability and ultrarobust cycling performance (1970 h/3940 cycles at 2 mA cm

Abstract Background: Food allergy (FA) in infants has become a common disease worldwide. There are many controversies surrounding the relationships among levels of cord blood 25-hydroxy vitamin D
Methods: In this study, we recruited pregnant women in the third trimester undergoing obstetric examination in Chongqing City, Western China. Healthy full-term singleton births between May to August 2018 and November 2018 to January 2019 were included in the summer-birth and winter-birth cohorts, respectively. Questionnaires on vitamin D status in pregnancy and family allergies were used to investigate the pregnant women. The levels of <12 ng/mL, 12~20 ng/mL, and >20 ng/mL 25(OH)D
Results: In this study, we recruited 741 pairs of pregnant women and infants, including 343 infants in the summer-birth cohort and 398 infants in the winter-birth cohort. The incidence of FA within postnatal 6 months was 6.88%, showing significantly higher incidence of FA in the winter-birth cohorts than in the summer-birth cohorts (10.3% vs. 2.9%,
Conclusions: Winter birth and sufficient 25(OH)D

Abstract Background: The development of anti-N-methyl-d-aspartate receptor (NMDAR) encephalitis following viral encephalitis, such as Japanese encephalitis, has received increasing attention in recent years. However, the mechanism of anti-NMDAR antibody production following Japanese encephalitis has not been explored.
Methods: A peptide from the Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV), which shares a similar amino acid sequence with GluN1, was identified by sequence comparison. We then explored whether active subcutaneous immunization with the JEV peptide could induce the production of anti-NMDAR antibodies and related pathophysiological and behavioral changes in mice. In addition, a published active immune model of anti-NMDAR encephalitis using a GluN1 peptide was used as the positive control.
Results: A 6-amino-acid sequence with 83 % similarity between the envelope protein of the JEV (HGTVVI) and GluN1 (NGTHVI) was identified, and the sequence included the N368/G369 region. Active immunization with the JEV peptide induced a substantial and specific immune response in mice. However, anti-NMDAR antibodies were not detected in the serum of mice immunized with the JEV peptide by ELISA, CBA, and TBA. Moreover, mice immunized with the JEV peptide presented no abnormities related to anti-NMDAR antibodies according to western blotting, patch clamp, and a series of behavioral tests. In addition, active immunization with a recently reported GluN1 peptide failed to induce anti-NMDAR antibody production in mice.
Conclusions: In this study, the attempt of active immunization with the JEV peptide to induce the production of anti-NMDAR antibodies via molecular mimicry failed. The pathogenesis of anti-NMDAR encephalitis following Japanese encephalitis remains to be elucidated.

Abstract Pestalopyrones A–D are four unusual tricyclic pyrone derivatives with flexible chiral structures, isolated from the endophytic fungus Pestalotiopsis neglecta S3. The full elucidation of their structures was a challenging task, and remained unsolved in the original article. Herein, the relative configurations of pestalopyrones A and pestalopyrones B were unambiguously assigned by detailed analyses on spectroscopic data and GIAO ¹³C NMR calculation method with sorted training sets (STS). The planar structures of pestalopyrones C and pestalopyrones D were revised by reinterpretation of their reported spectroscopic data, and then their relative configurations were deduced by STS GIAO ¹³C NMR calculation and NOE analysis. The absolute configurations of all the mentioned compounds were determined by the comparison of their experimental and calculated ECD curves.

Abstract Photocatalytic selective oxidation plays an important role in developing green chemistry. However, it is challenging to design an efficient photocatalyst for controlling the selectivity of photocatalytic oxidation reaction and exploring its detailed mechanism. Here, we synthesized three conjugated microporous polymers (CMPs) with D-A structures, named M-SATE-CMPs (MZn, Cu and Co), with different d-band centers based on different metal centers, resulting in the discrepancy in adsorption and activation capacities for the reactants, which produces the selectivity of β-keto esters being catalyzed into α-hydroperoxide β-keto esters (ROOH) or to α-hydroxyl β-keto esters (ROH). Density functional theory (DFT) calculations also demonstrate that the adsorption and activation capacities of the metal active centers in M-SATE-CMPs (MZn, Cu and Co) for ROOH are the key factors to influence the photocatalytic selective oxidation of β-keto ester. This study provides a promising strategy for designing a metallaphotoredox catalyst whose photocatalytic selectivity depends on the d-band center of metal site in the catalyst.

Abstract Wavelet transform is being widely used in classical image processing. One-dimension quantum wavelet transforms (QWTs) have been proposed. Generalizations of the 1-D QWT into multilevel and multidimension have been investigated but restricted to the quantum wavelet packet transform (QWPTs), which is the direct product of 1-D QWPTs, and there is no transform between the packets in different dimensions. A 2-D QWT is vital for image processing. We construct the multilevel 2-D QWT's general theory. Explicitly, we built multilevel 2-D Haar QWT and the multilevel Daubechies D4 QWT, respectively. We have given the complete quantum circuits for these wavelet transforms, using both noniterative and iterative methods. Compared to the 1-D QWT and wavelet packet transform, the multilevel 2-D QWT involves the entanglement between components in different degrees. Complexity analysis reveals that the proposed transforms offer exponential speedup over their classical counterparts. Also, the proposed wavelet transforms are used to realize quantum image compression. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed wavelet transforms are significant and obtain the same results as their classical counterparts with an exponential speedup.
