Abstract Introduction: An increasing number of elderly patients suffer from hip diseases associated with moderate to severe perioperative pain during the accelerating global ageing process. Optimal analgesia can decrease perioperative complications and facilitate elderly patients' perioperative recovery. Pericapsular nerve group (PENG) block is a relatively new, analgesia adequate and motor-sparing block technique for perioperative pain management of hip diseases. However, the efficacy of PENG block remains unclear as the limited clinical evidence. Then, we will perform a protocol for a systematic review and meta-analysis to identify the efficacy of PENG block for perioperative pain management.
Methods and analysis: PubMed, Ovid Medline, Cochrane Library, Embase, Web of Science, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Chinese BioMedical Literature, Wanfang and VIP databases will be searched from inception to August 2022 to identify randomised controlled trials of elderly patients accepting PENG block for hip diseases. The primary outcome will be the pain intensity after pain management. Secondary outcomes will be quadriceps strength, perioperative rescue analgesia information and perioperative complications. Assessment of heterogeneity will be primarily inspected by forest plots. If there is no indication of funnel plot asymmetry, a random-effects meta-analysis will be performed. The Cochrane risk-of-bias tool, Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation and trial sequential analysis will be conducted to evaluate the evidence quality and control the random errors. Funnel plots and Egger's regression test will be performed to evaluate publication bias.
Ethics and dissemination: Ethical approval was not required for this systematic review protocol. The results will be disseminated through peer-reviewed publications.

Abstract Abstract The predatory species, Clitostethus brachylobus Peng, Ren & Pang 1998 (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae), native to China, has been reported as a predator of the whitefly species, Bemisia tabaci (Genn.). Present study describes the development and biological characteristics of C. brachylobus. Developmental periods of different immature stages showed significant differences, when fed on different life stages of B. tabaci. Prey consumption capacity was reduced by the increase in prey age. Female longevity was 193.5 days, whereas fecundity was 154.70 eggs/female. Net reproductive rate was 53.60, whereas the mean generation time was 102.64 days. The daily adult survival rates gradually decreased 120 h post-adult emergence.

Abstract Though totipotency and pluripotency are transient during early embryogenesis, they establish the foundation for the development of all mammals. Studying these in vivo has been challenging due to limited access and ethical constraints, particularly in humans. Recent progress has led to diverse culture adaptations of epiblast cells in vitro in the form of totipotent and pluripotent stem cells, which not only deepen our understanding of embryonic development but also serve as invaluable resources for animal reproduction and regenerative medicine. This review delves into the hallmarks of totipotent and pluripotent stem cells, shedding light on their key molecular and functional features.

Abstract We reported a 51-year-old male electric welder with stage I pneumoconiosis, who had no significant cough, sputum, fever, chest pain, or other discomfort. However, regular physical examination at our hospital revealed bilateral pulmonary nodules with cavity formation. Blood routine, liver or kidney function, and infection-related biomarkers, including interleukin-6 (IL-6), high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), and procalcitonin (PCT), were normal. Abstract Focusing on the impact of the digital economy on urban resilience is beneficial to the sustainable development of cities. This paper empirically examines the impact of digital economic development on urban resilience and its mechanisms by measuring urban resilience and the level of urban digital economy with the entropy-weighted TOPSIS method using the data of 252 Chinese cities from 2011 to 2020. The findings show that digital economic development effectively promotes urban resilience at the 1% significance level, and this conclusion remains valid after a series of endogeneity and robustness tests. The channel mechanism suggests that the development of the digital economy can improve urban resilience by optimizing urban distributional effects and promoting the upgrading of urban industrial structures. This paper discusses the nonlinear relationship between the two using the MMQR model and the threshold model. The results show that urban resilience development level is in a higher quartile of cities, and digital economy development has a greater impact on urban resilience improvement. Meanwhile, there are two threshold values for the nonlinear impact of the digital economy on urban resilience, which are 0.026 and 0.082, respectively. Further, the spatial effect between the two is also verified. From the perspective of heterogeneity analysis, the digital economy development of high-class cities, key city clusters, and cities in eastern and western regions has a greater effect on urban resilience. This study can provide ideas and inspiration for countries to enhance urban resilience and promote sustainable urban development through the development of the digital economy.

Abstract Motivation: RNA threading aims to identify remote homologies for template-based modeling of RNA 3D structure. Existing RNA alignment methods primarily rely on secondary structure alignment. They are often time- and memory-consuming, limiting large-scale applications. In addition, the accuracy is far from satisfactory.
Results: Using RNA secondary structure and sequence profile, we developed a novel RNA threading algorithm, named RNAthreader. To enhance the alignment process and minimize memory usage, a novel approach has been introduced to simplify RNA secondary structures into compact diagrams. RNAthreader employs a two-step methodology. Initially, integer programming and dynamic programming are combined to create an initial alignment for the simplified diagram. Subsequently, the final alignment is obtained using dynamic programming, taking into account the initial alignment derived from the previous step. The benchmark test on 80 RNAs illustrates that RNAthreader generates more accurate alignments than other methods, especially for RNAs with pseudoknots. Another benchmark, involving 30 RNAs from the RNA-Puzzles experiments, exhibits that the models constructed using RNAthreader templates have a lower average RMSD than those created by alternative methods. Remarkably, RNAthreader takes less than two hours to complete alignments with ∼5000 RNAs, which is 3-40 times faster than other methods. These compelling results suggest that RNAthreader is a promising algorithm for RNA template detection.
