Abstract Five new compounds were identified from the stems of Ephedra equisetina Bunge. Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic methods, involving UV, IR, NMR spectrum and HRESIMS analyses. The absolute configuration of compound 2 was proved by comparing their experimental and calculated ECD spectrum. The vitro bioactive assay of all compounds suggested that compound 1, 3, 4, 5 and 6 may have potential anti-asthmatic activities.

Abstract Purpose: To verify the efficacy and safety of acupuncture in treating stress urinary incontinence (SUI) in women in a single treatment cycle lasting at least 6 weeks.
Methods: A preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analyses (PRISMA) summary was followed correctly. Through the use of EMBASE, Cochrane Library databases, and PubMed (until July 2021), we looked for randomized controlled trials. In addition, the included articles' original references were looked up as well.
Results: Totally, we analyzed four studies including 690 patients. Compared with the sham acupuncture group, this analysis verified that acupuncture was critically better result in decreasing mean urine leakage (
Conclusions: Acupuncture is more beneficial to patients with stress urinary incontinence in women with no critical difference in the incidence of advent events than sham acupuncture.

Abstract Absorption-dominated electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding is attained by improving impedance matching and conductivity through structural design. Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF)–Ti 3 C 2 T x MXene–single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) composites with layered heterogeneous conductive fillers and segregated structures were prepared through electrostatic flocculation and hot pressing of the PVDF composite microsphere-coated MXene and SWCNTs in a layer-by-layer fashion. Results suggest that the heterogeneous fillers improve impedance matching and layered coating, and hot compression allows the MXene and SWCNTs to form a continuous conducting network at the PVDF interface, thereby conferring excellent conductivity to the composite. The PVDF-MXene-SWCNTs composite showed a conductivity of 2.75 S cm −1 at 2.5% MXene and 1% SWCNTs. The EMI shielding efficiency (SE) and contribution from absorption loss to the total EMI SE of PVDF-MXene-SWCNTs were 46.1 dB and 85.7%, respectively. Furthermore, the PVDF-MXene-SWCNTs composite exhibited excellent dielectric losses and impedance matching. Therefore, the layered heteroconductive fillers in a segregated structure optimize impedance matching, provide excellent conductivity, and improve absorption-dominated electromagnetic shielding.

Abstract Electromagnetic interference (EMI) is a pervasive and harmful phenomenon in modern society that affects the functionality and reliability of electronic devices and poses a threat to human health. To address this issue, EMI-shielding materials with high absorption performance have attracted considerable attention. Among various candidates, two-dimensional MXenes are promising materials for EMI shielding due to their high conductivity and tunable surface chemistry. Moreover, by incorporating magnetic and conductive fillers into MXene/polymer composites, the EMI shielding performance can be further improved through structural design and impedance matching. Herein, we provide a comprehensive review of the recent progress in MXene/polymer composites for absorption-dominated EMI shielding applications. We summarize the fabrication methods and EMI shielding mechanisms of different composite structures, such as homogeneous, multilayer, segregated, porous, and hybrid structures. We also analyze the advantages and disadvantages of these structures in terms of EMI shielding effectiveness and the absorption ratio. Furthermore, we discuss the roles of magnetic and conductive fillers in modulating the electrical properties and EMI shielding performance of the composites. We also introduce the methods for evaluating the EMI shielding performance of the materials and emphasize the electromagnetic parameters and challenges. Finally, we provide insights and suggestions for the future development of MXene/polymer composites for EMI shielding applications.

Abstract The effect of unilateral and bilateral bone-filling mesh containers (BFC) on osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture (OVCF) was analyzed by the finite element method. The CT scan data of the T12-L2 vertebral body were obtained from a healthy female volunteer with no history of lumbar spine injury or obvious abnormality of vertebral body morphology. The normal finite element model of the T12-L2 vertebral body and the finite element model of osteoporosis were established, and the models were validated. The L1 in the normal model of the vertebral body was used to simulate the vertebral compression fracture, after which the unilateral and bilateral BFC were simulated to establish models representing the two surgical approaches. We analyzed changes in the deformation and von Mises stress in vertebral bodies and intervertebral discs in the two models under seven working conditions (axial direction, anteflexion, rear protraction, left-side bending, right-side bending, left rotation, and right rotation) and found that the unilateral and bilateral approaches are biomechanically comparable, with no statistical difference between the two overall models.

Abstract In this study, three moss species (Bryum argenteum, Rhynchostegium subspeciosum and Orthotrichum dasymitrium) and one lichen species (Parmelia saxatilis) were sampled to monitor the levels of toxic elements along a section of a gorge road for assessing the enrichment ability of these species and the effects of toxic elements at different elevations. Hierarchical clustering was used to classify samples based on geographic data and ICP-MS to determine the contents of toxic elements in each plant. Based on the obtained levels of enrichment factors (EF), metal accumulation index (MAI) and geoaccumulation index (Igeo), Bryum argenteum (highest MAI and Igeo) was identified as the most suitable biomonitoring species. PMF source analysis showed that the main pollution sources were traffic dust (45%) and other traffic emissions (43%). Road pollution was alarming as high Pb, As and Cr levels were detected as the most important pollutants. The levels of toxic element depositions along the road of the Karst gorge area increased with rising elevation. The vertical distribution of pollutants was affected by temperature, topography, dominant winds and pollutant emissions. However, some variations in the distribution in similar areas were also observed.

Abstract Hypoxia was proved to enhance the angiogenesis of stem cells. However, the mechanism of the angiogenic potential in hypoxia-pretreated dental pulp stem cells (DPSCs) is poorly understood. We previously confirmed that hypoxia enhances the angiogenic potential of DPSC-derived exosomes with upregulation of lysyl oxidase-like 2 (LOXL2). Therefore, our study aimed to illuminate whether these exosomes promote angiogenesis via transfer of LOXL2. Exosomes were generated from hypoxia-pretreated DPSCs (Hypo-Exos) stably silencing LOXL2 after lentiviral transfection and characterized with transmission electron microscopy, nanosight and Western blot. The efficiency of silencing was verified using quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) and Western blot. CCK-8, scratch and transwell assays were conducted to explore the effects of LOXL2 silencing on DPSCs proliferation and migration. Human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) were co-incubated with exosomes to assess the migration and angiogenic capacity through transwell and matrigel tube formation assays. The relative expression of angiogenesis-associated genes was characterized by qRT-PCR and Western blot. LOXL2 was successfully silenced in DPSCs and inhibited DPSC proliferation and migration. LOXL2 silencing in Hypo-Exos partially reduced promotion of HUVEC migration and tube formation and inhibited the expression of angiogenesis-associated genes. Thus, LOXL2 is one of various factors mediating the angiogenic effects of Hypo-Exos.
