Abstract Aim: This study aimed to investigate the effects of substituting inorganic iron in the diet of weanling piglets with iron-rich Candida utilis on gut morphology, immunity, barrier, and microbiota.
Methods and results: Seventy-two healthy 28-day-old Duroc × Landrace × Yorkshire desexed male weanling piglets were randomly assigned to 2 groups (n = 6), with 6 pens per group and 6 piglets in each pen. The control group was fed a basal diet containing ferrous sulfate (104 mg kg-1 iron), while the experimental group was fed a basal diet supplemented with iron-rich C. utilis (104 mg kg-1 iron). The results show that the growth performance of weanling piglets showed no significantly differences (P > 0.05). Iron-rich C. utilis significantly elevated villus height and decreased crypt depth in the duodenum and jejunum (P < 0.05). Additionally, there was a significant increase in SIgA content, a down-regulated of pro-inflammatory factors expression, and an up-regulated of anti-inflammatory factors expression in the jejunum and ileum of piglets fed iron-rich C. utilis (P < 0.05). The mRNA expression levels of ZO-1, Claudin-1, Occludin, and Mucin2 in the jejunum were significantly increased by iron-rich C. utilis, and were significantly increased ZO-1 and Claudin-1 in the ileum (P < 0.05). The colonic microbiota, however, was not significantly affected by iron-rich C. utilis (P > 0.05).
Conclusion: Iron-rich C. utilis improved intestinal morphology and structure, as well as intestinal immunity and intestinal barrier function.

Abstract The communication efficiency optimization, censorship resilience, and generation of shared randomness are inseparable from the threshold cryptography in the existing Byzantine Fault Tolerant (BFT) consensus. The membership in consensus in a blockchain scenario supports dynamic changes, which effectively prevents the corruption of consensus participants. Especially in cross-chain protocols, the dynamic access to different blockchains will inevitably bring about the demand for member dynamic. Most existing threshold cryptography schemes rely on redefined key shares, leading to a static set of secret sharing participants. In this paper, we propose a general approach to coupling blockchain consensus and dynamic secret sharing. The committee performs consensus confirmation of both dynamic secret sharing and transaction proposals. Our scheme facilitates threshold cryptography membership dynamic, thus underlying support for membership dynamic of threshold cryptography-based BFT consensus schemes. We instantiate a dynamic HotStuff consensus to demonstrate the effectiveness of the scheme. After the correctness and security proof, our scheme achieves the secrecy and integrity of the threshold key shares while ensuring consensus liveness and safety. Experimental results prove that our scheme obtains dynamic membership with negligible overhead.

Abstract Background Infectious diseases are a major threat to public health, causing serious medical consumption and casualties. Accurate prediction of infectious diseases incidence is of great significance for public health organizations to prevent the spread of diseases. However, only using historical incidence data for prediction can not get good results. This study analyzes the influence of meteorological factors on the incidence of hepatitis E, which are used to improve the accuracy of incidence prediction. Methods We extracted the monthly meteorological data, incidence and cases number of hepatitis E from January 2005 to December 2017 in Shandong province, China. We employ GRA method to analyze the correlation between the incidence and meteorological factors. With these meteorological factors, we achieve a variety of methods for incidence of hepatitis E by LSTM and attention-based LSTM. We selected data from July 2015 to December 2017 to validate the models, and the rest was taken as training set. Three metrics were applied to compare the performance of models, including root mean square error(RMSE), mean absolute percentage error(MAPE) and mean absolute error(MAE). Results Duration of sunshine and rainfall-related factors(total rainfall, maximum daily rainfall) are more relevant to the incidence of hepatitis E than other factors. Without meteorological factors, we obtained 20.74%, 19.50% for incidence in term of MAPE, by LSTM and A-LSTM, respectively. With meteorological factors, we obtained 14.74%, 12.91%, 13.21%, 16.83% for incidence, in term of MAPE, by LSTM-All, MA-LSTM-All, TA-LSTM-All, BiA-LSTM-All, respectively. The prediction accuracy increased by 7.83%. Without meteorological factors, we achieved 20.41%, 19.39% for cases in term of MAPE, by LSTM and A-LSTM, respectively. With meteorological factors, we achieved 14.20%, 12.49%, 12.72%, 15.73% for cases, in term of MAPE, by LSTM-All, MA-LSTM-All, TA-LSTM-All, BiA-LSTM-All, respectively. The prediction accuracy increased by 7.92%. More detailed results are ...

Abstract The solvent-free selective hydrogenation of nitroaromatics to azoxy compounds is highly important, yet challenging. Herein, we report an efficient strategy to construct individually dispersed Co atoms decorated on niobium pentaoxide nanomeshes with unique geometric and electronic properties. The use of this supported Co single atom catalysts in the selective hydrogenation of nitrobenzene to azoxybenzene results in high catalytic activity and selectivity, with 99% selectivity and 99% conversion within 0.5 h. Remarkably, it delivers an exceptionally high turnover frequency of 40377 h

Abstract For the problem of multi-dimensional feature redundancy in remote sensing detection of wheat stripe rust using reflectance spectrum and solar-induced chlorophyll fluorescence (SIF), a feature selection and disease index (DI) monitoring model combining mRMR and XGBoost algorithm was proposed in this study. Firstly, characteristic wavelengths selected by successive projections algorithm (SPA) were combined with the vegetation indices, trilateral parameters, and canopy SIF parameters to constitute the initial feature set. Then, the max-relevance and min-redundancy (mRMR) algorithm and correlation coefficient (CC) analysis were used to reduce the dimensionality of the initial feature set, respectively. Features selected by mRMR and CC were input as independent variables into the extreme gradient boosting regression (XGBoost) and gradient boosting regression tree (GBRT) to monitor the severity of stripe rust. The experimental results show that, compared with CC analysis, the monitoring accuracy of the features selected by mRMR in the XGBoost and GBRT models increased by 12% and 17% on average, respectively. Meanwhile, the mRMR-XGBoost model achieved the best monitoring accuracy (R 2 = 0.8894, RMSE = 0.1135). The R 2 between the measured DI and predicted DI of mRMR-XGBoost was improved by an average of 5%, 12%, and 22% compared with mRMR-GBRT, CC-XGBoost, and CC-GBRT models. These results suggested that XGBoost is more suitable for the remote sensing monitoring of wheat stripe rust, and mRMR has more advantages than the commonly used CC analysis in feature selection. Field survey data validation results also confirm that the mRMR-XGBoost algorithm has excellent monitoring applicability and scalability. The proposed model could provide a reference for data dimensionality reduction and crop disease index monitoring based on hyperspectral data.
