Abstract The protective effect of zinc selenium tea against metabolic syndrome (MetS) was tested by using a high-sucrose-high-fat diet (HSHFD)-induced MetS model. Fifty Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into five groups: normal diet (C-group), HSHFD (CH-group), HSHFD + green tea (0.24 g/kg/day) (TH-group), HSHFD + low-dose zinc selenium organic tea (0.24 g/kg/day) (ZTHL-group), and HSHFD + high-dose zinc selenium organic tea (1.20 g/kg/day) (ZTHH-group). After 8 weeks, compared to both the C-group and CH-group, the hepatosomatic index (HI) was significantly reduced in the ZTHL-group (p < 0.05). Fasting blood glucose (FBG) levels were highest in the TH-group, followed by the CH-group, then the ZTHL-group, then the ZTHH-group, and finally the C-group. Compared with the CH-group, the serum total cholesterol (TC) and low density lipid-cholesterol (LDL-C) concentrations were significantly lower in the ZTHH-group (p < 0.05). Significant decreases in serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), total bile acids (TBA), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), and direct bilirubin (DBIL) levels were observed in ZTHL-group versus the CH-group (p < 0.05). Serum alpha-L-fucosidase (AFU) levels in the ZTHH-group were lower than in the CH-group (P < 0.01). Histopathological examination of the liver and fat biopsies illustrates that the liver cells showed a decrease in the extent of necrosis and dropsy in the ZTHL-group and ZTHH-group versus the CH-group. Zinc selenium tea showed a protection effect against hepatic damage.

Abstract An internal wave is a typical dynamic process. As an internal wave, an internal solitary wave usually occurs between two layers of fluids with different densities. Compared with general internal waves, internal solitary waves have large amplitudes, fast propagation speeds, short-wave periods, and often have tremendous energy. The propagation causes strong convergence and divergence of seawater and generates a sudden strong current. Due to its various characteristics, the propagation of internal solitary waves can cause serious harm to offshore engineering structures. Therefore, studying the effects of internal solitary waves on risers is vital in preventing environmental pollution caused by riser damage. Although the research on internal solitary waves has achieved very fruitful results, the research on structures is mostly focused on a single condition, and the occurrence of internal solitary wave, as a complex ocean phenomenon, is often accompanied by many situations. Therefore, this paper constructs a numerical simulation of the interaction between two columns of internal solitary waves and risers. This study explores the force and flow field changes of the riser under the condition of multiple internal solitary waves using the Star-CCM+ software in the simulation. The improved K-epsilon turbulence model was adopted to close the three-dimensional incompressible Navier–Stokes equation, and the solitary wave solution of the eKdV equation was used as the initial and boundary conditions. The interaction between single and double internal solitary waves and a riser was calculated, compared, and analyzed using numerical analysis. The experiment results indicate that the conditions of two internal solitary waves differ from those of a single internal solitary wave. After colliding at the riser, the waves gradually merge into a single wave, and the flow field reaches its minimum velocity. Under the two-wave condition, the horizontal force on the riser as a whole is less than the single-wave condition. As the ...

Abstract Ethnopharmacological relevance: Transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) is recommended as the first-line therapy for unresected primary liver cancer (PLC), but only partial patients could benefit from TACE due to the serious adverse reactions. Clearing heat and resolving toxin (CHRT), one of most critical traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) therapeutic principles, has been widely used in the treatment of PLC patients especially after TACE. However, there is no enough clinical evidence to confirm the efficacy and safety of the combined therapy.
Aim of the study: To comprehensively evaluate the efficacy and safety of the combined CHRT-CHF with TACE in the treatment of PLC.
Materials and methods: 7 databases were searched from their inception until February 1, 2023. The primary outcomes included survival rate (1-, 2-year), objective response rate (ORR) and disease control rate (DCR), liver function indicators (AST, ALT), adverse reactions including fever, upper digestive tract side and myelosuppression, AFP were selected as the secondary outcomes. RevMan5.4 software was used to evaluate the quality of included studies; meta-analysis, subgroup analysis, meta-regression analysis, publication bias and trial sequential analyses (TSA) was conducted by Stata software 12.0.
Results: There were 40 RCTs involving 3649 patients. Patients treated with TACE plus CHRT-CHF showed significantly better 1-, 2-year survival (respectively: OR, 2.23 [1.67-2.97]; OR, 2.13 [1.56-2.92]), ORR (OR, 2.14 [1.82-2.52]), DCR (OR, 2.13 [1.73-2.62]) compared with TACE alone. There was a decreased incidence of aspartate transaminase (AST), alanine transaminase (ALT), alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) and postembolization syndrome (PES) in patients receiving the combined TACE with CHRT-CHF compared with TACE alone. Subgroup analysis found that lower proportion (20-30%) of CHRT-CHF significantly enhanced survival rate and DCR, higher proportion (≥40%) of CHRT-CHF reduced PES after TACE treatment.
Conclusion: The efficacy and safety of the combined CHRT-CHF with TACE were validated in this meta-analysis, the optimal proportion of CHRT-CHF in enhancing the efficacy may be 20-30%; Additionally, higher proportion (≥40%) of CHRT-CHF appears to reduce PES after TACE treatment. The potential role of combined relative proportion of CHRT-CHF with TACE should be emphasized in clinic.

Abstract A coupling process of electrodialysis with oxime hydrolysis reaction for preparing hydroxylamine sulfate was developed in this work. The three steps, including the oxime hydrolysis, the hydroxylamine protonation reaction, and the separation process, are integrated into a triple-chamber electrodialysis stack. In this novel method, the impacts of current density, oxime concentration, and reaction time were investigated. The results indicated that the decomposition voltage is above 1.93 V. Furthermore, the current density is 4.69 × 10⁻² A cm⁻², the oxime concentration is 1.00 mol L⁻¹, and when reaction time reaches 600 min, the yield of hydroxylamine sulfate is 67.59%. Moreover, the process has excellent mass transfer performance, mild reaction conditions, and simple operation compared with conventional methods. This work will provide a theoretical basis for the green and continuous manufacture of hydroxylamine sulfate and a guide for preparing other hydroxylamine salts through such hydrolysis methods.

Abstract A multisource and heterogeneous database is an important problem that disturbs the use of the electric power information system. The existing database synchronization scheme has some problems in practical applications, such as high resource loss and poor portability. This paper presents a high-efficiency database synchronization scheme for the electric power information system. The database is monitored, and its changes are captured by the shadow table and trigger method. Thus, data could be exchanged in trusted networks and nontrusted networks. In addition, a predetermined strategy is used to avoid data conflicts and ensure consistency and reliability of data synchronization. The above method is applied in the protection system of power networks. The results show that the synchronization scheme can effectively ensure the security of the system and has higher synchronization efficiency.

Abstract The development of electro-optical materials with high chromophore loading levels that possess ultrahigh electro-optic coefficients and high long term alignment stability is a challenging topic. Anthracene-maleimide Diels-Alder (DA) reaction and π-π interaction of Anthracene-pentafluorobenzene and benzene-pentafluorobenzene are developed for making highly efficient binary cross-linkable/self-assembled dendritic chromophores FZL1-FZL4. A covalently or non-covalently cross-linked network is formed by DA reaction or π-π interaction after electric field poling orientation, which greatly improves the long-term alignment stability of the materials.
