    Abstract In this paper, we describe the formatting guidelines for ACM SIG Proceedings. With the development of social economy, smart cities, especially green energy-saving buildings, are foremost trend in the future. The location of green buildings has a very important impact on the design and plan of future smart cities. The influence of the natural environment, especially that of the topography and landform on the location of architectural design is very significant. Google Earth (GE) platform can provide sufficient remote sensing data, which greatly interpret and promote surface information. However, just few people have done related research. This article takes Beijing as an example and uses Google Earth platform and the remote sensing data to obtain the 3D digital elevation model (DEM) data; and then Google earth’s geomorphology data are used to analyze the landform features. Finally, by analyzing their characteristics and distribution features, five energy-saving building locations were selected in Beijing. It can be concluded that GE, is an effective and potential platform for providing remote sensing data, and analyzing the DEM and landform. The rational analysis of the building addresses in this paper could help the buildings to avoid potential geological disasters and make full use of natural resources. Moreover, this research on energyefficient building addresses make a suggestion for future smart city planning.

    Abstract Cancer stem cells (CSCs) represent a distinct subset of neoplastic cells characterised by their heightened capacity for tumorigenesis. These cells are implicated in the facilitation of cancer metastasis, recurrence, and resistance to conventional therapeutic interventions. Extensive scientific research has been devoted to the identification of biomarkers and the elucidation of molecular mechanisms in order to improve targeted therapeutic approaches. Accurate identification of cancer stem cells based on biomarkers can provide a theoretical basis for drug combinations of malignant tumours. Targeted biomarker-based therapies also offer a silver lining for patients with advanced malignancies. This review aims comprehensively to consolidate the latest findings on CSCs biomarkers, targeted agents as well as biomarkers associated signalling pathways in well-established cancer types, thereby contributing to improved prognostic outcomes.

    Abstract Noise removal is a critical stage in the preprocessing of point clouds, exerting a significant impact on subsequent processes such as point cloud classification, segmentation, feature extraction, and 3D reconstruction. The exploration of methods capable of adapting to and effectively handling the noise in point clouds from real-world outdoor scenes remains an open and practically significant issue. Addressing this issue, this study proposes an adaptive kernel approach based on local density and global statistics (AKA-LDGS). This method constructs the overall framework for point cloud denoising using Bayesian estimation theory. It dynamically sets the prior probabilities of real and noise points according to the spatial function relationship, which varies with the distance from the points to the center of the LiDAR. The probability density function (PDF) for real points is constructed using a multivariate Gaussian distribution, while the PDF for noise points is established using a data-driven, non-parametric adaptive kernel density estimation (KDE) approach. Experimental results demonstrate that this method can effectively remove noise from point clouds in real-world outdoor scenes while maintaining the overall structural features of the point cloud.

    Abstract Self-regulated learning in technology-supported environments has attracted much scholarly attention in recent years. With the rapid expansion of online education, students' emotions have also been studied extensively in second language acquisition. However, few empirical studies have examined the interrelationship between students' self-regulated learning and emotions in the emerging field of language MOOCs (LMOOCs). This study bridged this gap by exploring the relationship between foreign language enjoyment (FLE), boredom (FLB), self-regulated learning (SRL), and perceived effectiveness in LMOOC learning. Data were collected among 356 successful learners of a language MOOC in mainland China through a cross-sectional study. The results showed that LMOOC learners had a high level of enjoyment and a moderate level of boredom. A significantly positive relationship was noted between FLE and SRL while a negative relationship was found between FLB and SRL. SRL was confirmed to be the mediator between FLE, FLB, and PE, which partially mediated the effects of FLE on PE and fully mediated the effects of FLB on PE. Perceived effectiveness was predicted by all SRL strategies and time management significantly predicted perceived effectiveness. The results provided pedagogical implications for students to develop positive emotions and effective SRL strategies to achieve better learning outcomes in LMOOC learning.

    Abstract Proteins need to be located in appropriate spatiotemporal contexts to carry out their diverse biological functions. Mislocalized proteins may lead to a broad range of diseases, such as cancer and Alzheimer's disease. Knowing where a target protein resides within a cell will give insights into tailored drug design for a disease. As the gold validation standard, the conventional wet lab uses fluorescent microscopy imaging, immunoelectron microscopy, and fluorescent biomarker tags for protein subcellular location identification. However, the booming era of proteomics and high-throughput sequencing generates tons of newly discovered proteins, making protein subcellular localization by wet-lab experiments a mission impossible. To tackle this concern, in the past decades, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML), especially deep learning methods, have made significant progress in this research area. In this article, we review the latest advances in AI-based method development in three typical types of approaches, including sequence-based, knowledge-based, and image-based methods. We also elaborately discuss existing challenges and future directions in AI-based method development in this research field.
