Abstract Brillouin fiber-optic gyroscope (BFOG) is a fiber ring resonator (FRR)-based ring laser gyroscope with a large dynamic range and high sensitivity. Previous BFOGs operated under simultaneous resonance of the pump and Brillouin laser light in the FRR, resulting in complex control systems. This article introduces an asymmetric prism Mach-Zehnder interferometer coupler (APMZIC)-based FRR system, in which the coupling ratio of pump light is large, while the Brillouin laser resonates in the cavity with a negligible coupling loss, resulting in a simple control system. We analyzed the characteristics of the APMZIC and its combined resonator system both theoretically and experimentally and verified the feasibility of connecting the APMZIC with the resonant cavity of a Brillouin laser. This coupler system is compact, easy to fabricate, highly stable, and exhibits good repeatability, which are necessary for miniaturizing lasers and gyroscopes.

Abstract Embryo implantation and placentation play pivotal roles in pregnancy by facilitating crucial maternal-fetal interactions. These dynamic processes involve significant alterations in gene expression profiles within the endometrium and trophoblast lineages. Epigenetics regulatory mechanisms, such as DNA methylation, histone modification, chromatin remodeling, and microRNA expression, act as regulatory switches to modulate gene activity, and have been implicated in establishing a successful pregnancy. Exploring the alterations in these epigenetic modifications can provide valuable insights for the development of therapeutic strategies targeting complications related to pregnancy. However, our current understanding of these mechanisms during key gestational stages remains incomplete. This review focuses on recent advancements in the study of histone modifications during embryo implantation and placentation, while also highlighting future research directions in this field.

Abstract We theoretically study the spin-texture dynamics and the transverse asymmetric charge deflection induced by the polaron in a quadrilateral prism-shaped nanotube with the Rashba and Dresselhaus spin-orbit coupling (SOC). We reveal the polaron gives rise to the nontrivial local spin textures in the nanotube within the cross section plane. The spins demonstrate oscillations and the oscillating patterns are dependent on the SOC type. For the nanotube containing a segment of the ferromagnetic domain, the sizable asymmetric charge deflections could additionally take place, namely, the anomalous Hall effect. The amount of the deflected charges is determined by the strength and orientations of the ferromagnetic magnetization as well as the SOC type. The work provides a valuable insight of the coherent transport of polaron through a quasi-one-dimensional nanotube with Rashba and Dresselhaus SOC and open avenues for the potential device applications.

Abstract Exploring the driving factors of changing ecosystem services is critical for supply capacity maintaining and ecological management zoning. Xinjiang of Northwest China, is considered one of the most fragile ecological environment areas. However, studies on how ecosystem services’ driving forces respond to the environmental conditions of Xinjiang are still insufficient, especially in sub–regions with considerable spatial heterogeneity. Based on 106 counties across Xinjiang, we employed models of the Integrated Valuation of Ecosystem Services and Tradeoffs (InVEST) and Revised Wind Erosion Equation (RWEQ) to quantify four essential ecosystem services (carbon storage, habitat quality, and sand fixation and water yield). Then, we investigated the spatial distribution of four ecosystem services and drivers at the county scale in 2020 by using multi–scale geographically weighted regression (MGWR). The results showed that the spatial distribution of ecosystem services is higher in the north and lower in the south, and hotspots and high–value ecosystem services areas were consistent. Precipitation, temperature, and fractional vegetation cover were the dominant factors influencing the four ecosystem services. Therefore, regulating climate and increasing vegetation will maximize the improvement of regional ecosystem services in Xinjiang. Significant differences exist in the counties of the type, intensity, and direction of ecosystem services drivers. The correlation between carbon storage, habitat quality and fractional vegetation cover was more robust stronger in the south. Water yield was more closely related to fractional vegetation cover in southern Xinjiang. Under different ecological and social conditions, the impact of driving forces on ecosystem services showed different changing trends. Three suggestions for improving ecosystem services management were proposed based on our results. The comparative analysis of the driving factors of county ecosystem services in this study will help to formulate differentiated ...

Abstract Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is one of the most dangerous types of strokes with a high morbidity and mortality rate. Currently, the treatment of ICH is not well developed, mainly because its mechanisms are still unclear. Inflammation is one of the main types of secondary injury after ICH and catalyzes the adverse consequences of ICH. A large number of immune cells are involved in neuroinflammation, such as microglia, astrocytes, oligodendrocytes, lymphocytes, macrophages, and neutrophils. Nevertheless, the characteristics and crosstalk of immune cells have not been fully elucidated. In this review, we endeavor to delve into the respective characteristics of immune cells and their interactions in neuroimmune inflammation, and further elucidate favorable immunotherapeutic approaches regarding ICH, and finally present an outlook.
