Abstract The aim of this article is to understand how the information disorder influences and sets the stage for using the information as a weapon. It claims that bearing in mind the means, the message, and the audience, information can be utilized as a weapon of mass disruption. The paper examines the chaotic environment that surrounds the informational sphere, the information disorder. It analyses why it is possible to assert that information is a weapon of mass disruption, and it presents definitions to support the analysis, beginning with the meaning of disruption and conceptualizing the term “weapons of mass disruption”. The paper brings another concept that has evolved recently, the “Cognitive Warfare”. The essay states that information disorder background supports and provides the necessary conditions to the use of information as a weapon of mass disruption. At the same time, this weaponization itself feeds back and boosts disorder, in a vicious cycle that represents a direct threat to global security. It concludes that when introduced into a disordered world fueled by emerging technology and social media, information may cause harsh damage in a culture or government by exploring manipulation and the vulnerabilities and cognitive biases of the human brain. Keywords: Information Disorder; Cognitive Warfare; Mass Disruption.

Abstract The genus Aeromonas belongs to the Aeromonadaceae family. A patient with a pancreas–kidney transplant had multiple episodes of abdominal sepsis after surgery. Aeromonas hydrophila was isolated in the ascitic and biliary fluid drains. After discharge, the patient had several diarrhea episodes, and A. hydrophila was isolated in four stool samples. We decided to test whether the one strain that we initially isolated in ascitic fluid was the same that appeared in the successive stool samples. Five isolates of A. hydrophila were found in the patient. Identification was performed using the MALDI-TOF system and confirmed via multiplex PCR. The analysis of the REP-PCR fingerprint patterns showed one cluster and confirmed that all isolates were related. We also demonstrated the virulent character of this species associated with genes encoding different toxins (act, alt, ast, hlyA, and aerA). The virulence of this species is associated with the expression of genes that encode different toxins, structural proteins, and metal-associated proteins. This case report highlights the severity of this disease, especially in immunocompromised patients, and its adequate treatment.

Abstract We present the case of forty-four-year-old woman with autosomal dominant Polycystic liver disease (PLD) without kidney disease diagnosed for 18 years ago. She experienced progressive abdominal distension and malnutrition over the previous twelve months. The patient had no other comorbidities. Physical examination revealed an 8 cm hepatomegaly in the right hypochondrium region. Liver function analysis was normal. CT scan showed multiple liver cysts with smooth and regular walls, predominantly in the right lobe which was considered as type III according to Gigot´s classification. Due to the significant hepatomegaly, conventional surgery was performed. Exploration showed multiple cysts of varying sizes on the liver surface, with diffuse involvement of the right hemiliver. Standard right lobe mobilization was technically not possible. Fenestration was performed in dominant superficial cysts, to allow access to the deeper cysts and liver parenchyma. A right hepatectomy was carried up using ultrasound devices and ultrasonic aspirator. And the biggest cysts located in the surface of left hepatic lobe were surgically unroofed. No surgical complications occurred, and the patient was discharged 5 days after the intervention.
