Abstract In recent years, video surveillance has become increasingly popular in railway intrusion detection. However, it is still quite challenging to detect the intruded objects efficiently and accurately because: (a) The backgrounds of video frames generated by the fixed cameras are similar and only few intrusive frames are available, resulting in a lack of diversity among video frames, and further leading to over fitting of the detection models during training; (b) The intrusion of small targets or targets far from the location of camera exhibits sparsity relative to the wide monitoring view of the camera, which challenges the detection of such targets in a complex background; (c) The extreme imbalance between non-intrusive frames and intrusive frames, as well as a large number of unlabeled frames, hinder the effective training of the detection model and weaken its capacity of generalization. To tackle the above issue, this article develops an effective intrusion detection method by combining low-rank and sparse decomposition (LRSD) and Semi-supervised Support Vector Domain Description (Semi-SVDD). Firstly, LRSD is used to decompose the monitored video into a background and a foreground. Then, based on the semantic segmentation method, we extract the mask of the track region in the decomposed background, which is used to mask the foreground. Next, by using both the labeled and unlabeled frames of the masked foreground, Semi-SVDD is established for the intrusion detection. Numerical results show that the removal of background interference and the combination of the labeled and unlabeled information help to improve the performance of the proposed method, and thus superior to benchmark methods.

Abstract The occurrence of cardiovascular events in diabetic patients during the perioperative period is related to the activation of sympathetic nerves. Basic research shows that serum nociceptin/orphanin FQ (N/OFQ) levels in diabetic neuropathy rats increased, and N/OFQ reduces the release of norepinephrine (NE). We hypothesize that N/OFQ will affect the sympathetic nervous system during perioperative myocardium of diabetic patients. 66 patients with unilateral knee arthroplasty were divided into diabetes group (D group) and non-diabetes group (N group). Measured blood glucose, serum NE, N/OFQ concentrations at the 30 min before anesthesia (T0), 1 h after surgery (T1), 24 h after surgery (T2) and the cardiac troponinI (cTnI) concentration at T0 and T2. Compared with N group, the concentration of blood glucose, N/OFQ and cTnI in D group was higher and the NE was lower at T0 (P < 0.05). At T1, the blood glucose, N/OFQ, NE concentrations of D group increased, only the blood glucose increased in N group (P < 0.05). Serum N/OFQ of D group from T0 to T1 was correlated with the change trend of blood glucose, NE concentration from T0 to T1 and cTnI from T0 to T2(r = 0.386, P = 0.027; r = 0.350, P = 0.046; r = 0.363, P = 0.038). The outcomes demonstrated that the preoperative serum N/OFQ concentration in diabetic patients was increased, and the increase in N/OFQ concentration during the operation was related to the increase in NE and cTnI concentrations, perioperative N/OFQ may mediate myocardial injury through sympathetic nervous system.

Abstract Arteriovenous fistula (AVF) is the most widely used hemodialysis vascular access in China. However, stenosis of the AVF limits its use. The mechanism of AVF stenosis is currently unknown. Therefore, the purpose of our study was to explore the mechanisms of AVF stenosis. In this study, we identified the differentially expressed genes (DEGs) based on the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) dataset (GSE39488) between venous segments of AVF and normal veins. A protein-protein interaction (PPI) network was constructed to identify hub genes of AVF stenosis. Finally, six hub genes (

Abstract Background: Previous research indicates that hypoxia critically affects the initiation and progression of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Nevertheless, the molecular mechanisms responsible for HCC development are poorly understood. Herein, we purposed to build a prognostic model using hypoxia-linked genes to predict patient prognosis and investigate the relationship of hypoxia with immune status in the tumor microenvironment (TME).
Methods: The training cohort included transcriptome along with clinical data abstracted from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA). The validation cohort was abstracted from Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO). Univariate along with multivariate Cox regression were adopted to create the prediction model. We divided all patients into low- and high-risk groups using median risk scores. The estimation power of the prediction model was determined with bioinformatic tools.

Abstract Background: The high degree of heterogeneity of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) imposes a significant challenge to predict the prognosis. Currently, increasing evidence has indicated that cell cycle-linked genes are strongly linked to occurrence and progress of HCC. Herein, we purposed to create a prediction model on the basis of cell cycle-linked genes.
Methods: The transcriptome along with clinicopathological data abstracted from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) were used as a training cohort. Lasso regression analysis was employed to create a prediction model in TCGA cohort. The data of samples obtained from the International Cancer Genome Consortium (ICGC) data resource were applied in the verification of the model. A series of bioinformatics analyzed the relationship of the risk signature with overall survival (OS), biological function, and clinicopathological features.

Abstract In this paper, based on equal-strain assumption a semi-analytical solution, considering well re-sistance, smear effect and time-varying loading, is deduced for radial consolidation aided by vertical drain (VD) to unsaturated soils. Firstly, by employing the general integration, Laplace transform, decoupling methods and numerical inverse Laplace transform, the semi-analytical solution in the time domain is ob-tained. Then, its validity is verified by the special cases of the proposed solution under instantaneous loading. Finally, the case analysis show that the dissipation of excess pore pressures is accelerated with the decrease of smear coefficients (αa or αw) or well resistance factors (Ga or Gw). In addition, when the well resistance factor is less than 1, the barrier of VD material to flow can be ignored. Furthermore, a smaller value of the loading frequency of cyclic loading, the bigger the amplitude, and the less fluctuation period in the dissipa-tion rates. Moreover, the current solution can analyse the consolidation characteristics of unsaturated soils with VDs under arbitrary time-varying loadings, including cyclic loadings.

Abstract Heterogeneity and complexity of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) have been an impediment to effective diagnosis and treatment of HCC. Mounting evidence suggests that ferroptosis-related genes (FRGs) regulate the development of HCC by affecting the tumor microenvironment (TME). Herein, we explored the role of ferroptosis-related molecular patterns in the HCC microenvironment. The transcriptome and corresponding clinicopathological data of HCC patients were downloaded from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database, respectively. Molecular patterns of ferroptosis were explored using consensus clustering analysis and ferroptosis-related molecular patterns in the individual patients were analyzed using principal component analysis (PCA). The ability of ferroptosis-related patterns to predict the biological status and survival outcomes of HCC patients was investigated. Based on the expression of FRGs, three molecular patterns related to ferroptosis were identified. Single sample gene set enrichment analysis (ssGSEA) showed that the molecular patterns associated with the worst prognosis were significantly correlated with high infiltration of immunosuppressive cells in the TME. Besides, we identified three ferroptosis gene clusters underlying the different biological features of the three ferroptosis patterns. Patients in the high-risk group had a worse biological status and survival outcomes than those in the low-risk group. This study demonstrates that ferroptosis-related molecular patterns lead to high heterogeneity in HCC. These molecular patterns can be used to assess the survival of HCC patients and guide the design of immunotherapy strategies for HCC patients.

Abstract Friction stir welding is extensively used in aluminum alloys for advanced engineering applications. A current challenge for 5 × × × series alloys is their poor welding strength due to the lack of hardening precipitates. Here we report Zn-modified novel Al–Mg alloys with Zn/Mg ratio below 1.0. Compared with 5 × × × series alloys, the strength of the welded alloy can be increased by 100 MPa owing to the distribution of T-Mg₃₂(AlZn)₄₉ hardening precipitates during friction stir welding and the subsequent heat treatment after welding. Fine spherical T″ precipitates and coarsening polygonal T′ precipitates are both observed at the thermo-mechanically affected zone. The bimodal distribution of the precipitates and the widest precipitate-free zone weakened the strength of this region, and thus the welded alloys are fractured at this area. The novel alloy with T precipitates is expected to further stimulate the researchers to improve the properties of traditional 5 × × × series alloy.

Abstract Background: Hepatic Arterial Infusion (HAI) with raltitrexed has become an effective treatment for hepatocellular cancer and colorectal cancer liver metastases. However, traditional Body Surface Area (BSA)-based dosing is unsafe or ineffective, and a more accurate model-based approach is required.
Methods: In this study, domestic swine were given 1 mg or 4 mg raltitrexed administered by an HAI with infusion times of 30, 60 and 120 min. Hepatic Artery (HA) and Peripheral Vein (PV) samples were collected, and a twocompartment model with an elimination pathway was established to describe the in vivo behavior of raltitrexed.
Results: The clearance was 0.27 L/min, and the volumes of distribution were 0.35 and 6.65 L for the HA and PV compartments, respectively. The goodness-of-fit plots and visual predictive checks suggested that the proposed pharmacokinetic model agreed well with the observations.
Conclusion: The pharmacokinetic model could be helpful in quantitatively describing the detailed processes of raltitrexed activity administered by HAI and determining an appropriate dosing regimen for preclinical and clinical studies.
