Abstract The pre-combustion chamber (PCC) is commonly used to ensure stable combustion in boilers. However, when a coal-fired boiler uses a PCC combustor, the cross-sectional area and volumetric heat load in the PCC are high, which is prone to slagging, affecting the safe and stable operation of the boiler. Therefore, developing a fast and accurate prediction model is very important for judging the degree of slagging on the wall of the PCC. In recent years, artificial intelligence (AI) has been widely used in the field of thermal engineering, especially in the prediction of slagging. However, currently, using neural networks to predict the degree of boiler slagging only inputs simple parameters such as silicon ratio and acid-base ratio, without considering the actual complex flow and combustion characteristics in the furnace. In order to improve the accuracy of boiler slagging prediction, a deep parallel residual convolution neural network (DPRCNN) is proposed for automatically identifying three types of boiler wall slagging degrees. First, we simulate the boiler combustion process under various operating and structural parameters and output a dataset. Second, experimental validation is used to numerically simulate typical operating conditions, verifying the accuracy of the resulting dataset, and the generated dataset is sent to the DPRCNN model for identification. Finally, a convolutional neural network incorporating parallel thinking is proposed to predict boiler slagging. The experimental results show that the accuracy, accuracy, and area under curve (AUC) of DPRCNN reach 100%, 100%, and 100%, verifying the applicability of deep learning technology to boiler slagging prediction.

Abstract Liver rupture repair surgery serves as one tool to treat liver rupture, especially beneficial for cases of mild liver rupture hemorrhage. Liver rupture can catalyze critical conditions such as hemorrhage and shock. Surgical workflow recognition in liver rupture repair surgery videos presents a significant task aimed at reducing surgical mistakes and enhancing the quality of surgeries conducted by surgeons. A liver rupture repair simulation surgical dataset is proposed in this paper which consists of 45 videos collaboratively completed by nine surgeons. Furthermore, an end-to-end SA-RLNet, a self attention-based recurrent convolutional neural network, is introduced in this paper. The self-attention mechanism is used to automatically identify the importance of input features in various instances and associate the relationships between input features. The accuracy of the surgical phase classification of the SA-RLNet approach is 90.6%. The present study demonstrates that the SA-RLNet approach shows strong generalization capabilities on the dataset. SA-RLNet has proved to be advantageous in capturing subtle variations between surgical phases. The application of surgical workflow recognition has promising feasibility in liver rupture repair surgery.

Title translation Retrospective Analysis of the Effect of Uric Acid on the Prognosis of Immunoglobulin A Nephropathy With Stage 3-4 Chronic Kidney Disease.
Abstract Objective: To investigate the effect of uric acid on the clinicopathological characteristics and prognosis of immunoglobulin A nephropathy (IgAN) in patients with stage 3-4 chronic kidney disease (CKD).
Methods: The clinical and pathological data of 263 IgAN patients who had stage 3-4 CKD and who had confrimed diagosis through renal biopsy at the First Affiliated Hospital of Air Force Medical University between December 2008 and January 2020 were retrospectively collected. According to the levels of uric acid, the patients were divided into a hyperuricemia group (
Results: Compared with the normal uric acid group, the hyperuricemia group had a significantly higher proportion of male patients and patients with a history of hypertension, a significantly higher level of blood urea nitrogen, and lower levels of estimated glomerular filtration rate and high-density lipoprotein. In terms of pathology, patients in the hyperuricemia group had significantly higher proportion of glomerulosclerosis, higher mesangial hypercellularity, and higher tubular atrophy/interstitial fibrosis (
Conclusion: High uric acid is a risk factor for poor renal prognosis in IgAN patients with stage 3-4 CKD and reducing uric acid levels may effectively improve the prognosis of high-risk IgAN patients.

Abstract Background: The cytoplasmic male sterility (CMS) of rice is caused by chimeric mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) that is maternally inherited in the majority of multicellular organisms. Wild rice (Oryza rufipogon Griff.) has been regarded as the ancestral progenitor of Asian cultivated rice (Oryza sativa L.). To investigate the distribution of original CMS source, and explore the origin of gametophytic CMS gene, a total of 427 individuals with seventeen representative populations of O. rufipogon were collected in from Dongxiang of Jiangxi Province to Sanya of Hainan Province, China, for the PCR amplification of atp6, orfH79 and B-atp6-orfH79, respectively.
Results: The B-atp6-orfH79 and its variants (B-atp6-GSV) were detected in five among seventeen populations (i.e. HK, GZ, PS, TL and YJ) through PCR amplification, which could be divided into three haplotypes, i.e., BH1, BH2, and BH3. The BH2 haplotype was identical to B-atp6-orfH79, while the BH1 and BH3 were the novel haplotypes of B-atp6-GSV. Combined with the high-homology sequences in GenBank, a total of eighteen haplotypes have been revealed, only with ten haplotypes in orfH79 and its variants (GSV) that belong to three species (i.e. O. rufipogon, Oryza nivara and Oryza sativa). Enough haplotypes clearly demonstrated the uniform structural characteristics of the B-atp6-orfH79 as follows: except for the conserved sequence (671 bp) composed of B-atp6 (619 bp) and the downstream followed the B-atp6 (52 bp, DS), and GSV sequence, a rich variable sequence (VS, 176 bp) lies between the DS and GSV with five insertion or deletion and more than 30 single nucleotide polymorphism. Maximum likelihood analysis showed that eighteen haplotypes formed three clades with high support rate. The hierarchical analysis of molecular variance (AMOVA) indicated the occurrence of variation among all populations (F
Conclusions: Generally, this study, indicating that orfH79 was always accompanied by the B-atp6, not only provide two original CMS sources for rice breeding, but also confirm the uniform structure of B-atp-orfH79, which contribute to revealing the origin of rice gametophytic CMS genes, and the reason about frequent recombination of mitochondrial DNA.

Abstract The study demonstrated that melatonin (MT) can induce the development of secondary hair follicles in Inner Mongolian cashmere goats through the Wnt10b gene, leading to secondary dehairing. However, the mechanisms underlying the expression and molecular function of Wnt10b in dermal papilla cells (DPC) remain unknown. This research aimed to investigate the impact of MT on DPC and the regulation of Wnt10b expression, function, and molecular mechanisms in DPC. The findings revealed that MT promotes DPC proliferation and enhances DPC activity. Co-culturing DPC with overexpressed Wnt10b and MT showed a significant growth promotion. Subsequent RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) of overexpressed Wnt10b and control groups unveiled the regulatory role of Wnt10b in DPC. Numerous genes and pathways, including developmental pathways such as Wnt and MAPK, as well as processes like hair follicle morphogenesis and hair cycle, were identified. These results suggest that Wnt10b promotes the growth of secondary hair follicles in Inner Mongolian cashmere goats by regulating crucial factors and pathways in DPC proliferation.

Abstract Background: This network meta-analysis (NMA) aimed to compare the clinical advantage of four commonly used peritoneal dialysis catheters (PDCs) including the Swan neck segment with straight tip (Swan neck + S), Tenckhoff segment with straight tip (Tenckhoff + S), Swan neck segment with coiled tip (Swan neck + C) and Tenckhoff segment with coiled tip (Tenckhoff + C).
Methods: Randomised clinical trials were searched from PubMed, Embase, the Cochrane Register of clinical trials, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) and ChinaInfo from their inception until July 31, 2022. Meta-analysis was performed using Stata 14.0 and RevMan 5.3.5 software to evaluate the four commonly used PDCs.
Results: Seventeen studies involved 1578 participants were included. NMA showed that compared with Swan neck + C, Swan neck + S significantly reduced catheter tip migration (OR 0.47 95% CI 0.22-0.99). Tenckhoff + S was more effective in reducing catheter dysfunction (OR 0.42, 95% CI 0.23-0.79), catheter tip migration with dysfunction (OR 0.19, 95% CI 0.05-0.78) and catheter removal (OR 0.56, 95% CI 0.34-0.93) which were consistent with the pairwise meta-analysis. According to the surface under the cumulative ranking curve, Swan neck + S emerged as the best PDC in the reduction of catheter tip migration (83.3%), followed by Tenckhoff + S (79.4%). Moreover, Tenckhoff + S (86.5%, 76.3%) and Swan neck + S (72.3, 86.9%) ranked as the first and second PDC for 1 and 2-year technique survival which was significantly higher than those of the other two PDCs.
Conclusion: Our NMA showed Swan neck + S and Tenckhoff + S tended to be more efficacious than Swan neck + C and Tenckhoff + C in lowering the mechanical dysfunction and prolonging the technique survival, which may contribute to better clinical decisions. More randomised controlled trials with larger scales and higher quality are needed in order to obtain more credible evidence.
