Abstract Currently, China is experiencing a phase of rapid urbanization. With the frequent occurrence of extreme rainfall events within the context of climate change, the problem of heavy rainfall and waterlogging in many cities is very prominent. In November 2020, China issued a proposal for the construction of sponge cities across the entire region to significantly enhance the rainfall flood prevention and drainage capacity of cities and effectively improve the resilience of sponge city systems for flooding management. Therefore, this paper selected the Zhu pai-chong watershed in Nanning with frequent waterlogging disasters as an example. Based on underlying surface information, We used a coupled SWMM-LISFOOD model to simulate runoff and waterlogging processes and analyze the spatial and temporal evolution characteristics of the basin under 10 designed rainstorm return periods (0.25a-50a). The results confirm the substantial spatial and temporal variabilities of the runoff coefficient in the study area; impermeability was the main factor contributing to high runoff coefficient values. The spatial distribution characteristics of inundation area was general dispersion and local linear aggregation. Furthermore, this study assessed the effect of the control rate of blue‒green‒gray facilities on the actual storms, and the value ranged from only 48.6% (0.25a)-24.05% (50a). This study quantified the two-dimensional distribution of rainfall storage volume thresholds with or without considering the discharged from the pipe network. Quantitative mapping between the elements of "rainfall-storage volume of blue‒green‒gray facilities-runoff-drainage capacity of the pipe network-waterlogging level" was conducted within the study area as an example. Finally, an overall technical process scheme for rainfall and waterlogging management was proposed. The scheme covered the hydrological‒hydraulic mechanism, storage function of sponge facilities, engineering control response, nonengineering measures and intelligent management of rainfall and waterlogging during sponge city construction, which could provide critical scientific support for effective promotion of the construction of sponge cities in China.

Abstract: ... receptivity and Pregnancy Outcome based on the theory of "Chong channel being sea of blood," we will conduct ... acupuncture and moxibustion therapy based on the "Chong channel being sea of blood" theory) or ... on the "Chong Channel Being Sea of Blood" Theory in IVF.: Trial registration: http://www.chictr.org.cn/edit ...

Abstract Introduction: Acupuncture and moxibustion has become a commonly used adjuvant treatment method to improve the success rate of in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer (IVF-ET). However, There is still insufficient evidence that acupuncture treatment can improve the local microenvironment of endometrium, the endometrial receptivity, and the pregnancy outcome of patients, which is worthy of further study.
Method/design: To investigate the effect of Stage by Stage Acupuncture and Moxibustion Therapy on endometrial receptivity and Pregnancy Outcome based on the theory of "Chong channel being sea of blood," we will conduct a multicenter randomized controlled trial. Inclusion criteria are as follows: infertile women under 45 years of age who received IVF-ET or Intracytoplasmic sperm injection cycles. The study will only be applied to women who have failed repeated implantation, that is, women who have failed 3 or more embryo transplants in the past (existing frozen embryos do not require the retrieval of eggs). Those who are not prepared to receive IVF-ET or are at risk of pregnancy, have a serious medical condition, or are egg donors will be excluded. Subjects will be randomly assigned to either the acupuncture group (IVF-ET plus stage-by-stage acupuncture and moxibustion therapy based on the "Chong channel being sea of blood" theory) or the control group (IVF-ET only). The trial required a total sample size of 246 women to compare endometrial receptivity between the 2 groups. The acupuncture group will receive acupuncture and moxibustion treatment 3 times a week starting from the third day of menstruation in the ovary stimulation cycle. One menstrual cycle was one course of treatment, and a total of 3 menstrual cycles were treated. The main outcome indicator was clinical pregnancy rate. Secondary outcome indicators were the three-dimensional volume blood flow parameters (vascularization index, flow index, and vascularization flow index) of the endometrium, endometrial thickness, endometrial volume, uterine artery PI, RI, and S/D during the "implantation window period" (20-24 days after menstruation in the ovary stimulation cycle).
Discussion: This study will provide important evidence for the use of Stage by Stage Acupuncture and Moxibustion Therapy Based on the "Chong Channel Being Sea of Blood" Theory in IVF.

Abstract: ... Chong recipe) in retrieving diminished ovary reserve (DOR).: Methods: The DOR model was established ...

Abstract Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the molecular pathway of BSTCR (Bu Shen Tiao Chong recipe) in retrieving diminished ovary reserve (DOR).
Methods: The DOR model was established through injecting cyclophosphamide and the effect of BSTCR was examined under this background.
Results: BSTCR was shown to restore depleted brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), CDC2, cyclin B, GSH1, and P38 levels as well as impaired oocyte maturation and the higher apoptosis induced in DOR. BSTCR also enhances the response of oocytes to in vitro fertilization, with higher implantation rate, birth rate, and placenta weight.
Conclusion: BSTCR might exert its beneficial role in oocyte maturation and restore DOR through regulating the BDNF pathway. And this pathway itself is probably through the consequence on several serum hormones such as FSH, E2, Inhibin B, etc.

Abstract Endometriosis is a common gynecological condition in childbearing age women and its therapy in modern medicine achieves usually temporary cure. Ping-Chong-Jiang-Ni formula (PCJNF), a Chinese herbal medicine (CHM), was shown to be clinically effective on endometriosis. Meanwhile, c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK) signaling pathway was involved in the therapeutic process of CHM on endometriosis. Here, we explored the effect of PCJNF on the ectopic endometrial stromal cells (EESCs) from endometriosis and test whether JNK signaling was involved. After being treated with PCJNF-containing serum obtained from Sprague Dawley rat, cell proliferation, migration, invasion, and apoptosis were evaluated in EESCs, and the total and phosphorylated JNK, ERK, and p38 proteins were detected. Our results showed that PCJNF could suppress cell proliferation, migration, and invasion and induce apoptosis in EESCs. The suppressed proliferation and increased apoptosis were dependent on JNK activation. Additionally, PCJNF caused cell cycle arrest at G2/M phase and this effect was mediated by JNK signaling, while the decreased cell migration and invasion treated by PCJNF were independent of JNK signaling. In summary, our results provided the first evidence that PCJNF could suppress cell proliferation, migration, and invasion, while increasing apoptosis in EESCs, and the suppressed proliferation and enhanced apoptosis were mediated by JNK signaling.

Abstract The study was undertaken to investigate the blood stasis of chronic pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) with scientific method, hemorheology. The whole blood viscosities of chronic PID increased significantly compared with normal level, which was consistent with the blood stasis of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) theory. Moreover, sixty women suffering from chronic PID were treated with Enema Retention of Li Chong Tang Combined with Moxibustion (ERM) for 6 weeks. The chronic PID score and the whole blood viscosity were evaluated before and after the ERM. The parameters of whole blood viscosities at low, median and high shear rate of chronic PID group decreased from 12.32±0.31, 6.66±0.13 and 5.15±0.52, to the normal levels, 9.19±0.13, 5.42±0.56 and 4.34±0.43 (p<0.05) after therapy of ERM and the symptoms score decreased from 13.73±3.7 to 3.8±1.4 (p<0.05), which shows that the ERM is an effective therapy method to treat chronic PID.

Abstract: Professor Xue Chong-cheng devotes himself in clinical and research of integrative works of TCM ...

Abstract Professor Xue Chong-cheng devotes himself in clinical and research of integrative works of TCM, acupuncture, neuropsychiatry, neurosurgery and medicopsychology for more than 70 years. He firstly confirmed acupoints are identical with nerve and motor points, found propagating meridian sensation on phantom limbs of acquired and congenital amputates. The sensation can pass over fresh incision wound and it exits and disappears with the cortical sensation. He proposed a central theory that a meridians model is present in the brain. He suggested examination of general afferent system, cortical sensation and deep pain of syringomyelia with acupuncture as they are absent in routine methods but still present during needling. He firstly reported meridian type of sensory epilepsy and it was recognized by the Epilepsy Center of the USA. He treated psychosis with electroacupuncture convulsive therapy, the dosage of current used was less than 4% of the conventional method. The Journal of Psychiatry of USA recognized it is a dramatic progress for more than 40 years. He compiled first integrative medical questionnaire for assessment of pain. According to TCM theories and modern method of standardization he established inventories and national norms of personality and constitution for the corresponding examinations. They fulfill the gap of China. He firstly proposed the model of TCM is temporo-spatio-socio-psycho-biological. Now he is nearly ninety years old but is still struggling on the first line.
