Abstract We present a novel framework named NeuralRecon for real-time 3D scene reconstruction from a monocular video. Unlike previous methods that estimate single-view depth maps separately on each key-frame and fuse them later, we propose to directly reconstruct local surfaces represented as sparse TSDF volumes for each video fragment sequentially by a neural network. A learning-based TSDF fusion module based on gated recurrent units is used to guide the network to fuse features from previous fragments. This design allows the network to capture local smoothness prior and global shape prior of 3D surfaces when sequentially reconstructing the surfaces, resulting in accurate, coherent, and real-time surface reconstruction. The fused features can also be used to predict semantic labels, allowing our method to reconstruct and segment the 3D scene simultaneously. Furthermore, we purpose an efficient self-supervised fine-tuning scheme that refines scene geometry based on input images through differentiable volume rendering. This fine-tuning scheme improves reconstruction quality on the fine-tuned scenes as well as the generalization to similar test scenes. The experiments on ScanNet, 7-Scenes and Replica datasets show that our system outperforms state-of-the-art methods in terms of both accuracy and speed.

Abstract Multichannel image completion with mixture noise is a common but complex problem in the fields of machine learning, image processing, and computer vision. Most existing algorithms devote to explore global low-rank information and fail to optimize local and joint-mode structures, which may lead to oversmooth restoration results or lower quality restoration details. In this study, we propose a novel model to deal with multichannel image completion with mixture noise based on adaptive sparse low-rank tensor subspace and nonlocal self-similarity (ASLTS-NS). In the proposed model, a nonlocal similar patch matching framework cooperating with Tucker decomposition is used to explore information of global and joint modes and optimize the local structure for improving restoration quality. In order to enhance the robustness of low-rank decomposition to data missing and mixture noise, we present an adaptive sparse low-rank regularization to construct robust tensor subspace for self-weighing importance of different modes and capturing a stable inherent structure. In addition, joint tensor Frobenius and l

Abstract Unsupervised feature selection is challenging in machine learning, pattern recognition, and data mining. The crucial difficulty is to learn a moderate subspace that preserves the intrinsic structure and to find uncorrelated or independent features simultaneously. The most common solution is first to project the original data into a lower dimensional space and then force them to preserve the similar intrinsic structure under linear uncorrelation constraint. However, there are three shortcomings. First, the final graph generated by the iterative learning process differs significantly from the initial graph in which the original intrinsic structure is embedded. Second, it requires prior knowledge about a moderate dimension of subspace. Third, it is inefficient when dealing with high-dimensional datasets. The first shortcoming, which is longstanding and undiscovered, makes the previous methods fail to achieve their expected results. The last two ones increase the difficulty of applying in different fields. Therefore, two unsupervised feature selection methods are proposed based on controllable adaptive graph learning and uncorrelated/independent feature learning (CAG-U and CAG-I) to address the abovementioned issues. In the proposed methods, the final graph that preserves intrinsic structure can be adaptively learned while the difference between the two graphs can be well controlled. Besides, relatively uncorrelated/independent features can be selected using a discrete projection matrix. The experimental results on 12 datasets in different fields show the superiority of CAG-U and CAG-I.

Abstract Objective: Current studies have suggested that fetal congenital heart diseases (CHDs) are caused by various factors. However, few data in this field is available in China. This study aimed to detect associated factors of prenatally diagnosed fetal CHD in a large sample in China.
Study design: Pregnant women who underwent fetal echocardiography were recruited in our hospital between May 2018 and September 2019. The maternal sociodemographic and lifestyle characteristics and some fetal factors were obtained. We used forward stepwise logistic regression analysis to assess risk of fetal CHD associated with various factors.
Results: A total of 5024 subjects were enrolled, of whom 875 had CHD fetuses. Among the fetal CHD group (N = 875), critical CHDs account for 27%, of which Tetralogy of Fallot is the most (7.1%), followed by coarctation of aorta (4.0%), double-outlet right ventricle (2.9%). The forward stepwise logistic regression models revealed that history of spontaneous abortion (OR = 1.59, 95% CI 1.33-1.91, P = 0.000), upper respiratory tract infection during early pregnancy (OR = 1.30, 95% CI 1.04-1.62, P = 0.020), mental stress during early pregnancy (OR = 2.37, 95% CI 1.15-4.91, P = 0.020), single umbilical artery (OR = 2.30, 95% CI 1.18-4.51, P = 0.015), and paternal smoking (OR = 1.21, 95% CI 1.02-1.44, P = 0.027) are positively associated with an increased risk of fetal CHD.
Conclusion: We identified several factors positively associated with fetal CHD. These findings suggest that it is important to strengthen healthcare and prenatal counseling for women with these factors.
