Abstract The mode-locked microcomb offers a unique and compact solution for photonics applications, ranging from the optical communications, the optical clock, optical ranging, the precision spectroscopy, novel quantum light source, to photonic artificial intelligence. However, the photonic micro-structures are suffering from the perturbations arising from environment thermal noises and also laser-induced nonlinear effects, leading to the frequency instability of the generated comb. Here, a universal mechanism for fully stabilizing the microcomb is proposed and experimentally verified. By incorporating two global tuning approaches and the autonomous thermal locking mechanism, the pump laser frequency and repetition rate of the microcomb can be controlled independently in real-time without interrupting the microcomb generation. The high stability and controllability of the microcomb frequency enables its application in wavelength measurement with a precision of about 1 kHz. The approach for the full control of comb frequency could be applied in various microcomb platforms, and improve their performances in timing, spectroscopy, and sensing.

Abstract Background: The anti-phospholipase A2 receptor (PLA2R) antibody is a non-invasive diagnostic tool and prognosis predictor of idiopathic membranous nephropathy (IMN). Baseline hypercholesterolemia independently predicts proteinuria outcomes in IMN patients. Thus, we investigated whether hyperlipidemia is correlated with anti-PLA2R and pathological indicators.
Methods: A total of 495 IMN patients identified by kidney biopsy in Wuhan Tongji Hospital, China, from January 2016 through December 2020 were enrolled in this study. Data on clinical features, pathology findings, and outcomes were collected.
Results: Total cholesterol (TC), non-high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (non-HDL-C), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), and triglyceride (TG) were positively related to proteinuria, indicating damage to the renal glomerulus [Spearman's rank correlation coefficient = 0.432, 0.462, 0.315, and 0.289, respectively,
Conclusion: Hypercholesterolemia is a potentially useful biomarker for disease severity, serum anti-PLA2R antibody, glomerular PLA2R deposit, and proteinuria outcome of IMN.

Abstract Preeclampsia gravely threatens the health of mothers and infants. At present, treatment based on the relevant mechanisms of pathogenesis is still not available, and there is no independent reliable clinical index for early prediction of preeclampsia. According to recent studies, analysis of the cell-free RNA in the peripheral blood of pregnant women has shown that testing certain cell-free RNA levels can help predict in advance the occurrence of preeclampsia before clinical symptoms appear. In this paper, we described the status of research and progress in using maternal cell-free RNA analysis in predicting preeclampsia. In addition, we stated that cell-free RNA in peripheral blood may become a promising, real-time and non-invasive monitoring method that can be used to explore the mechanisms of pathogenesis and pathophysiology of preeclampsia and to identify different subtypes of preeclampsia.

Abstract The study of paleogroundwater on a timescale of several thousands to a million years is interesting both in terms of understanding the aquifer system itself and water resource management. It may also provide valuable information about the paleoclimate. In their seminal work, Loosli and Oeschger (1969) identified 81Kr as an ideal age tracer for paleogroundwater up to one million years old. Since then radiokrypton dating has been a desirable tool. Recent developments in the Atom Trap Trace Analysis method have made radiokrypton dating available to the earth science community at large. In this paper we will show the current status for radiokrypton dating with an emphasis on sample size reduction. The latest advancements have allowed analysis with only 20 kg of water. Moreover, we will review selected studies that have been carried out on some large aquifers with old groundwater around the world using this new tool.
