Abstract Background: It is essential to implement a high-quality electronic database for keeping important information. The District Health Information System (DHIS) is an active data-keeping system in Pakistan. This study aimed to evaluate the patients' data from the DHIS dashboard for the District Headquarters Hospital, Kotli, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
Methodology: The data was requested from the hospital administration at District Headquarters Hospital, Kotli, AJK, and the data was analyzed after permission was granted. The data was given in two forms; one was a hard copy of the data for August and September and the other was a comma-separated values file for October and November, 2023.
Results: The highest frequency of patients was received in the department of emergency and trauma and the patient's median age was between 15 and 49 years. The second department was medicine with the >50 years of age. Common conditions that needed more attention were chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, acute respiratory infection, diarrhea, pneumonia, diabetes mellitus, hypertension, and ischemic heart disease.
Conclusion: For nations with constrained healthcare systems and funds, primary health care (PHC) is the only viable approach for managing non-communicable diseases (NCDs). However, PHC systems intended for infectious diseases have not sufficiently adapted to the growing requirement of chronic care for NCD. Research using health information databases offers numerous benefits, such as the evaluation of large data sets and unexpected prevalence of disease in certain populations, such as a higher prevalence of disease in one gender or age group. Health information system-based data analysis or studies are less expensive and faster but lack scientific control over data collection.

Abstract Antibiotic resistance is a growing public health concern. The quest to understand the underlying mechanisms of drug resistance needs to be accompanied by an expanded arsenal of drugs. This calls for the development of new compounds with anti-bacterial properties. The ease of functionalization of the pyrimidine core, to produce structurally distinct compound libraries, has made pyrimidine a privileged structure for identifying anti-bacterial hits. The activity of pyrimidine derivatives can be attributed to the various subunits linked with the main core, especially at C-2 or C-4 or C-6. Particularly, presence of NH2 attached to C-2 of the pyrimidine nucleus has been shown to enhance the anti-bacterial activity against pathogenic Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. The diversity of synthetic routes used for the synthesis of such compounds, the reported biological activities, and a growing need to develop novel anti-bacterial agents warrant a review that presents recent reports on the synthesis and anti-bacterial activities of pyrimidine-containing compounds.

Abstract This study is aimed to optimise the preparation factors, such as sonication time (5-20 min), cholesterol to lecetin ratio (CHLR) (0.2-0.8), and essential oil content (0.1-0.3 g/100 g) in solvent evaporation method for formulation of liposomal nanocarriers containing garlic essential oil (GEO) in order to find the highest encapsulation efficiency and stability with strongest antioxidant and antimicrobial activity. The droplet size, zeta potential, encapsulation efficiency, turbidity, changes in turbidity after storage (as a measure of instability), antioxidant capacity, and antimicrobial activity were measured for all prepared samples of nanoliposome. The sonication time is recognised as the most effective factor on the droplet size, zeta potential, encapsulation efficiency, turbidity, and instability while CHLR was the most effective factor on zeta potential and instability. The content of GEO significantly affected the antioxidant and antimicrobial activity in particular against gram-negative bacteria (Escherichia coli). The results of FTIR based on the identification of functional groups confirmed the presence of GEO in the spectra of the prepared nanoliposome and also it was not observed the interaction between the components of the nanoliposome. The overall optimum conditions were determined by response surface methodology (RSM) as the predicted values of the studied factors (sonication time: 18.99 min, CHLR: 0.59 and content of GEO: 0.3 g/100 g) based on obtaining the highest stability and efficiency as well as strongest antioxidant and antimicrobial activity.

Abstract Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most common liver cancer and has a propensity to develop arteriovenous fistulas with the surrounding vasculature, making targeted intravascular treatment more difficult. HCC can oftentimes be accompanied by portal hypertension and liver cirrhosis, which can, in turn, cause recanalization of the umbilical vein. In rare circumstances, arteriovenous fistula formation and shunting into the recanalized and enlarged umbilical vein can occur. In the following presented case of HCC, an arteriovenous shunt between the anterior division of the right hepatic artery and a recanalized umbilical vein is demonstrated. Subsequent successful endovascular coil embolization of the fistula was performed to avoid shunting and non-target embolization of the radiation particles in the umbilical vein territory. Post-embolization angiogram with DynaCT and lack of Tc-99m macroaggregated albumin deposition in the umbilical vein distribution confirmed the resolution of the shunt. The patient then received targeted Y-90 transarterial radioembolization locoregional therapy in combination with systemic therapy.

Abstract Introduction: Telemedicine (TM) and teleconsultation services flourished during coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) transmission to avoid COVID-19 infection and physical contact. Many physicians switched to the virtual treatment mode and nearly all types of health disciplines were covered. Through this systematic review, the authors tried to explore the strengths and weaknesses of TM, identify the barriers to adopting TM by population, and explain the limitations of this healthcare delivery model.
Methods and results: In this systematic review, 28 studies were included (>53% high-quality studies) as eligible, where nearly 75% (
Conclusion: Other than a few concerns regarding connectivity, privacy, and diagnosis, TM was in fact affordable, timesaving, feasible, and accurate, which ensured a highly satisfying experience among the participants (>80%).

Abstract Emergence of deep eutectic solvents as potential replacements for volatile organic solvents has attracted interest of the scientific community in diverse fields of applications. Compared to ionic liquids, which exhibit similarity in many respects with this new class of green solvents, deep eutectic solvents (DESs) show low toxicity, and are easy to prepare from cheap and abundantly available starting materials. Knowledge of physicochemical properties of DESs is a prerequisite for their safe applications in technological fields and to understand the nature of interactions present in these systems. Although physicochemical properties of choline chloride based DESs are widely investigated, similar information on ammonium acetate based DESs is scant. In this work, a novel ammonium acetate/propionic acid deep eutectic solvent (AA/PA DES) is reported which is prepared by mixing ammonium acetate (AA) and propionic acid (PA) in the 1:3 mol ratio and characterized by FTIR,
