Abstract In conventional lithium-ion batteries (LIBs), active lithium (Li) ions, which function as charge carriers and could only be supplied by the Li-containing cathodes, are also consumed during the formation of the solid electrolyte interphase. Such irreversible Li loss reduces the energy density of LIBs and is highly desired to be compensated by prelithiation additives. Herein, lithium selenide (Li

Abstract Anthocyanin extracts from purple tomato (PTA) were incorporated with polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), resulting in a series of colorimetric PVA/PTA films with PTA concentrations of 0%, 1%, 3%, and 5% (based on PVA). The role of anthocyanin on color response, Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR), thickness, water content, mechanical properties, antioxidant activity, and water vapor permeability (WVP) through the films was examined. In addition, its application in smart packaging to assess the freshness of shrimp was studied. It was found that the tensile strength, contact angle and WVP of PVA/PTA films increases with the addition of more PTA, while the elongation at break and water content decreased. FTIR analysis showed that there are interactions between PTA and the PVA matrix. The addition of anthocyanins caused significant improvement in the antioxidant properties of PVA films. Furthermore, the total volatile alkaline nitrogen (TVB-N), total plate count (TPC), and pH value of shrimp were monitored after 4 days of refrigeration, and the color change of the indexes was recorded. The PVA/PTA films changed color from purple to yellow-green during the storage time of 0-4 days for shrimp. This suggests that the film could be used in smart packaging as a real-time freshness indicator for shrimp.

Abstract Observer-based disturbance rejection holds substantial theoretical and practical relevance in the field of control engineering, with numerous variants of disturbance observers already schemed. Nevertheless, the criteria for accuracy and avenues for enhancement remain areas warranting further investigation. This article introduces an integral compensation function observer (CFO) featuring a novel structure and efficient utilization of information for estimating disturbances in n th-order uncertain systems. This approach enhances estimation accuracy by addressing the inherent limitations of the linear extended state observer (LESO), such as low order, lacking usage of information, nonconvergence, and limited bandwidth. Through the derivation and quantification of the disturbance sensitivity transfer function (DSTF), this study examines the disturbance sensitivities of the CFO, LESO, and an improved ESO (IESO). The findings indicate that the CFO elevates the estimable order of disturbance and surpasses both LESO and IESO in bandwidth and disturbance estimation accuracy. In evaluating both the EAD of the CFO and the disturbance-rejection performance (DRP) of CFO-based control, nonlinear pole assignment controls (NPACs) employing 2nd/3rd-order CFO, IESO, LESO, and 4 th-order CFO are implemented in the context of attitude control for a quadrotor unmanned aerial vehicle (QUAV) that is exposed to prearranged disturbance torques. The results illustrate that the CFO outperforms the IESO and LESO in terms of accurately estimating the prearranged disturbing torques. Furthermore, the recorded magnitudes of attitude in response to disturbances underscore the superior DRP of CFO-NPAC relative to IESO-NPAC and LESO-NPAC.

Abstract Background: Accurate classification of electrocardiogram (ECG) signals is crucial for automatic diagnosis of heart diseases. However, existing ECG classification methods often require complex preprocessing and denoising operations, and traditional convolutional neural network (CNN)-based methods struggle to capture complex relationships and high-level time-series features.
Method: In this study, we propose an ECG classification method based on continuous wavelet transform and multi-branch transformer. The method utilizes continuous wavelet transform (CWT) to convert the ECG signal into time-series feature map, eliminating the need for complicated preprocessing. Additionally, the multi-branch transformer is introduced to enhance feature extraction during model training and improve classification performance by removing redundant information while preserving important features.
Results: The proposed method was evaluated on the CPSC 2018 (6877 cases) and MIT-BIH (47 cases) ECG public datasets, achieving an accuracy of 98.53% and 99.38%, respectively, with F1 scores of 97.57% and 98.65%. These results outperformed most existing methods, demonstrating the excellent performance of the proposed method.
Conclusion: The proposed method accurately classifies the ECG time-series feature map, which holds promise for the diagnosis of cardiac arrhythmias. The findings of this study are valuable for advancing the field of automatic ECG diagnosis.

Abstract Trace ethylene poses a significant challenge during the storage and transportation of agricultural products, causing over-ripening, reducing shelf life, and leading to food waste. Zeolite-supported silver adsorbents show promise for efficiently removing trace ethylene. Herein, hierarchical Ag/NZ5(X) adsorbents were prepared via different ammonia modifications, which featured enhanced ethylene adsorption ability. Ag/NZ5(2.5) exhibited the largest capacity and achieved near-complete removal at room temperature with prolonged efficacy. Characterization results indicated that the ammonia modification led to the formation of a hierarchical structure in the zeolite framework, reducing diffusion resistance and increasing the accessibility of the active sites. Additionally, desilication effects increased the defectiveness, generating a stronger metal-support interaction and resulting in a higher metal dispersion rate. These findings provide valuable insights into the development of efficient adsorbents for removing trace ethylene, thereby reducing food waste and extending the shelf life of agricultural products.
