    Abstract The primary objective of this research is to develop a mathematical model, analyze the dynamic occurrence of thermal shock and exploration of how thermal memory with moving line impact of heat transfer within biological tissues. An extended version of the Pennes equation as its foundational framework, a new fractional modelling approach called the Prabhakar fractional operator to investigate and a novel time-fractional interpretation of Fourier's law that incorporates its historical behaviour. This fractional operator has multi parameter generalized Mittag-Leffler kernel. The fractional formulation of heat flow, achieved through a generalized fractional operator with a non-singular type kernel, enables the representation of the finite propagation speed of heat waves. Furthermore, the dynamics of thermal source continually generates a linear thermal shock at predefined locations within the tissue. Introduced the appropriate set of variables to transform the governing equations into dimensionless form. Laplace transform (LT) is operated on the fractional system of equations and results are presented in series form and also expressed the solution in the form of special functions. The article derives analytical solutions for the heat transfer phenomena of both the generalized model, in the Laplace domain, and the ordinary model in the real domain, employing Laplace inverse transformation. The pertinent parameter's influence, such as α, β, γ, a0, b0, to gain insights into the impact of the thermal memory parameter on heat transfer, is brought under consideration to reveal the interesting results with graphical representations of the findings.

    Abstract The aim of this article is to investigate the exact solution by using a new approach for the thermal transport phenomena of second grade fluid flow under the impact of MHD along with exponential heating as well as Darcy's law. The phenomenon has been expressed in terms of partial differential equations, then transformed the governing equations in non-dimentional form. For the sake of better rheology of second grade fluid, developed a fractional model by applying the new definition of Constant Proportional-Caputo hybrid derivative (CPC), Atangana Baleanu in Caputo sense (ABC) and Caputo Fabrizio (CF) fractional derivative operators that describe the generalized memory effects. For seeking exact solutions in terms of Mittag-Leffler and G-functions for velocity, temperature and concentration equations, Laplace integral transformation technique is applied. For physical significance of various system parameters on fluid velocity, concentration and temperature distributions are demonstrated through various graphs by using graphical software. Furthermore, for being validated the acquired solutions, accomplished a comparative analysis with some published work. It is also analyzed that for exponential heating and non-uniform velocity conditions, the CPC fractional operator is the finest fractional model to describe the memory effect of velocity, energy and concentration profile. Moreover, the graphical representations of the analytical solutions illustrated the main results of the present work. Also, in the literature, it is observed that to derived analytical results from fractional fluid models developed by the various fractional operators, is difficult and this article contributing to answer the open problem of obtaining analytical solutions the fractionalized fluid models.

    Abstract Ficus religiosa bark extract was chosen as a reducing agent to fabricate biogenic silver nanoparticles (AgNPs), which were used to treat chromium in synthetic wastewater. The AgNPs formed were characterized using ultraviolet-visible absorption spectroscopy (UV-vis), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results of AgNPs characterization showed that the UV-vis spectrophotometer gave an absorbance peak for AgNPs synthesized from bark extract at 448 nm. The peaks in the XRD pattern of AgNPs synthesized from the bark extract of Ficus religiosa are associated with that of the face-centered-cubic form of metallic silver. The SEM analysis showed clear spherical morphology of AgNPs. These synthesized AgNPs were applied for the removal of chromium from synthetic wastewater. It was seen from the treatment results that above 74.8% removal efficiency was achieved. HIGHLIGHTS: Green synthesis of nanoparticles using plant extracts and their successful application in various fields has been previously studied by various researchers. Ficus religiosa bark extract was used for the synthesis of silver nanoparticles, which after characterization using ultraviolet-visible absorption spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and X-ray diffraction were used to treat chromium in synthetic wastewater prepared in lab. The use of silver nanoparticles for the treatment of heavy metals in wastewater can be considered a good replacement option for the conventional treatment techniques.

    Abstract Objectives: To assess the impact and utility of an intensive care unit (ICU) rotation during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic and the need for mandatory ICU rotations in training for all clinical specialties.
    Methods: A mixed methods study was conducted from January to September 2021 at the Aga Khan University Hospital, including resident doctors who rotated through COVID ICU between May and September 2020. An online survey was undertaken, followed by two focused group discussions (FGDs).
    Results: Fifty-nine complete responses out of a total of 86 were analyzed. Around 42.3% (n = 25) of doctors belonged to medicine/allied specialties and 57.6% (n = 34) had previous ICU experience. Both groups, with and without prior ICU experience, found the rotation equally challenging (82.3% (n = 28) versus 84% (n = 21),
    Conclusions: COVID ICU rotation was a good avenue for learning and the idea of mandatory ICU training was supported. Mandating ICU rotation might theoretically enhance response to emergencies. More research is needed to understand for feasible incorporation of ICU training in the curriculum.

    Abstract Background: Distal radius fracture is one of the most common injuries presented to emergency department and can be presented in any age group. In young patients the most common cause is Road Traffic Accident (RTA), while old patient history of fall is the most common cause. Different surgical options are available to treat this injury. This study aims to compare the outcome of volar buttress plate vs across wrist external fixator for Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Osteosynthesefragen (AO) type C2/C3 fracture of the distal radius.
    Methods: A retrospective comparative study between July 2020 to June 2021 at Ghurki Trust Teaching Hospital was done and a total of 50 patients who underwent surgical intervention for AO C2/C3 fracture of the distal Radius, were included. The follow-up period was 12 weeks. QuickDASH score was used to find out patient's functional outcomes. Functional outcome was analyzed between the two groups using Mann-Whitney U test, using SPSS version 21.
    Results: There was no significant statistical difference between the functional outcome of patients with distal radius fracture treated with across wrist external fixator vs volar buttress plate, in term of QuickDASH score. Furthermore, age and gender also were having no effect on functional outcome in our population.
    Conclusions: Across wrist external fixator is a reasonable option for AO C2/C3 type fractures of the distal radius with comparable results with volar buttress plate. It is the procedure of choice in high volume tertiary care hospitals like Gurki Trust Teaching hospital as it saves time, have similar functional outcome score, no need to re-open for removal of implant, less chances of tendon rupture as compared to volar buttress plate for distal radius fracture.
