Abstract The COVID-19 pandemic is challenging the international system and the regional order in which the European Union (EU) aims to re-define its role in global health. The article seeks to tease out the role of the EU amidst the COVID-19 crisis by outlining three key dimensions: self-perception, external perception and performance. The paper contributes to the broader understanding of the EU's role in global health through a focus on its self-perception. This is examined by the conduct of interviews with EU representatives in 2021 and the analysis of EU press releases with reference to global health from 2014 to mid-March 2021. The results show that the EU mainly draws from a donor and provider role leaving a facilitating, partner or normative role underdeveloped - except for the EU's leading role in the context of the World Health Organisation. The COVID-19 pandemic is a driver for a more ambitious global political role. However, the main challenges identified by EU representatives constitute a lack of capacities and resources, insufficient backing by EU member states and a lack of coordination. The strongest EU conception in global health is seen when policy actions are based on multiple roles ranging from a provider and partner to a facilitating or normative role.

Abstract Abstract The Covid-19 crisis has laid bare weaknesses in the capacity of the European Union (EU) to act as a global health player. Most of those challenges have existed prior to the pandemic and are linked to a limited implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) - the global agenda acknowledging interconnections between different policy fields. Despite the EU's commitment to implement the Agenda 2030 in its internal and external policies, there is a lack of visibility and sufficient reference to the SDGs on a strategic level as well as in the EU's actions and partnerships in global health. The Union has shown during the Covid-19 pandemic that it is a relevant global health actor; however, there seems to be a lack of strategic visions and resources. The poster aims to illustrate on the one hand the weaknesses and challenges of the EU global health policies in times of Covid-19 and beyond. On the other hand, it identifies advantages of the EU in the field of global health and explores future pathways. Applying a mixed-method approach I did a review of academic and grey literature; content analysis of official EU documents and statements, expert interviews and gathered insights from events such as policy dialogues. Preliminary results indicate that the EU has a strong focus on infectious disease control in its external health policies and hereby neglects the health system dimension and interlinkages with other foreign policies such as trade. Covid-19 has highlighted the importance of resilient health systems in a crisis and the interlinkages between different policies for an effective response. To pursue a genuine health-in-all-policies approach prioritising health system strengthening within a updated strategic roadmap is necessary. Moreover, efforts to ensure an equitable distribution of vaccines, therapeutics and diagnostics should be pushed through the development and implementation of respective criteria. Key messages The focus of the EU in global health should shift from a narrow health security lens towards health system strengthening including disease control. The EU should prioritize and implement the health-in-all-policies approach in its global health policies through an ambitious roadmap.

Abstract Ligand exchange plays an important role in the biogenesis of Fe/S clusters, most prominently during cluster transfer from a scaffold protein to its target protein. Although in vivo and in vitro studies have provided some insight into this process, the microscopic details of the ligand exchange steps are mostly unknown. In this work, the kinetics of the ligand rearrangement in a biomimetic [2Fe-2S] cluster with mixed S/N capping ligands have been studied. Two geometrical isomers of the cluster are present in solution, and mechanistic insight into the isomerization process was obtained by variable-temperature

Abstract Three separate studies demonstrate that socio-emotional skills add incremental validity beyond cognitive ability when predicting leadership and entrepreneurship intention, emergence as well as success. Study 1 uses a longitudinal approach and tests the cognitive ability and vocational interests of 231 students to predict their leadership and entrepreneurship intention. It demonstrates that cognitive ability predicts their intention to become a business leader or entrepreneur 2 years in the future. Importantly, the vocational interests "enterprising" and "social" increase this ability-driven prediction of leadership and entrepreneurship intention (Δ

Title translation Polypharmacy in nursing homes: options to improve drug therapy safety.
Abstract Patients in need of care usually suffer from multiple chronic conditions and therefore receive a high number of drugs. Polypharmacy involves multiple risks, for example, drug-drug and drug-disease interactions, adverse effects and potentially inappropriate medication (PIM), more hospital admissions, and increased mortality.Residents in long-term care facilities are particularly sensitive to adverse drug reactions because of age-related changes, frailty, and the high prevalence of dementia. Numerous drugs have side effects that lead to sedation, particularly in old age, and increase the risk of falls. In addition, anticholinergic effects negatively modify cognition. These PIMs are frequently prescribed to nursing home residents. The medication process in long-term care facilities is complex and requires numerous coordinated processes. In addition to the correct administration, the nursing staff have other important tasks such as monitoring the effects and potential adverse drug reactions and communicating their observations to the prescribing physicians and home-supplying pharmacists. The nursing staff therefore play a crucial role in the prescription of psychotropic drugs and contribute to the medication quality for nursing home residents. National and international studies indicate that improvements of polypharmacy and drug therapy safety in nursing homes can only be achieved by interprofessional collaboration.

Abstract Memory enables generalization to new situations, and memory specificity that preserves individual episodes. This study investigated generalization, memory specificity, and their overnight fate in 141 4- to 8-year-olds (computerized memory game; 71 females, tested 2020-2021 in Germany). The results replicated age effects in generalization and memory specificity, and a contingency of generalization on object conceptual properties and interobject semantic proximity. Age effects were stronger in generalization than in memory specificity, and generalization was more closely linked to the explicit regularity knowledge in older than in younger children. After an overnight delay, older children retained more generalized and specific memories and showed greater gains but only in generalization. These findings reveal distinct age differences in generalization and memory specificity across childhood.

Teach and treat! (3) Die institutionelle Einbindung der tiefenpsychologischen Ausbildungssupervision. (4) Fort- und Weiterbildung. (5) Was macht gute tiefenpsychologische Ausbildungssupervision aus? Abschließend wird darauf eingegangen, was gute tiefenpsychologische Ausbildungssupervision ausmacht.

Abstract The symmetry of the flexion and extension gap influences the functional and long-term outcome after total knee arthroplasty (TKA). Most surgeons check it by applying varus and valgus stress using spacers. This technique has limited accuracy and could be easily extended by rotational movement of the spacer. The objective was to determine the detection threshold and interobserver reliability of this technique. In an in vitro setting with a human cadaveric knee, gap asymmetries were simulated by different medially and laterally applied forces. Using an optical measurement system, the pivot point of the spacer was calculated as a function of the gap symmetry in the first part of the experiment. In the second part, the detection threshold and interobserver reliability of 4 surgeons were determined. For this purpose, gap asymmetries were adjusted to between 0 and 120N in a blinded trial. With a symmetrical gap, the centre of rotation of the spacer was located in the centre of the tibia. With increasing gap asymmetry, the centre of rotation of the spacer shifted to the tight side. This shift was approximately linearly dependent on the force difference. A perfectly balanced gap was detected by the examiners in 50% of the cases. From a force difference of 40N, all examiners identified the gap asymmetry in all cases (ICC = 1.0). The method of spacer rotation described is suitable for reliably detecting gap differences at ≥ 40N, independently of the examiner.

Abstract Three-dimensional protein structures are a key requisite for structure-based drug discovery. For many highly relevant targets, medicinal chemists are confronted with large numbers of target structures in their apo-forms or in complex with a wealth of different ligands. To exploit the full potential of such structure ensembles, in terms of aggregated knowledge that informs design, it is desirable to extract a manageable number of structures that provide a maximum of ligand design opportunities. Most commonly used structure comparison methods are largely based on atom positions and geometry-based metrics; medicinal chemists, however, seek ligand design opportunities and are interested in methods that allow such information to be distilled from structural data and guide them in an intuitive way. Here we present an approach for identifying nonobvious ligand design opportunities in protein conformation ensembles based on the information content in grid maps that represent, for example, binding hotspots. We use four different examples to show how this method can provide information orthogonal to established coordinate-based similarity methods. Furthermore, we demonstrate that ligand design opportunities can change substantially with very small structural variations. We expect that this approach will advance the identification of ligand design opportunities hidden in large collections of protein-ligand complex data that would otherwise have been missed.
