Abstract The etiopathogenesis of severe acute pancreatitis (SAP) remains poorly understood. We aim to investigate the role of immune cells Infiltration Characteristics during SAP progression. Gene expression profiles of the GSE194331 dataset were retrieved from the GEO. Lasso regression and random forest algorithms were employed to select feature genes from genes related to SAP progression and immune responses. CIBERSORT was utilized to estimate differences in immune cell types and proportions and the relationship between immune cells and gene expression. We performed pathway enrichment analysis using GSEA to examine disparities in KEGG signaling pathways when comparing the two groups. Additionally, CMap analysis was executed to identify prospective small molecular compounds. The three hub genes (CBLB, JADE2, RNF144A) were identified that can predict SAP progression. Analysis of CIBERSORT and TISIDB databases has shown that there are significant differences in immune cell expression levels between the normal and SAP groups, and three hub genes (CBLB, JADE2, RNF144A) were highly correlated with multiple immune cells, regulating the characteristics of immune cell infiltration in the microenvironment. Finally, drug prediction through the Connectivity Map database suggested that compounds such as Entecavir, KU-0063794, Y-27632, and Antipyrine have certain effects as potential targeted drugs for the treatment of SAP. CBLB, JADE2, and RNF144A are hub genes in SAP, potentially playing important roles in SAP progression. This finding further broadens the understanding of the etiopathogenesis of SAP and provides a feasible basis for future research on diagnostic and immunotherapeutic targets for SAP.

Abstract Over the past decades, supramolecular luminescent materials (SLMs) have attracted considerable attention due to their dynamic noncovalent interactions, versatile functions, and intriguing applications in many research fields. From construction to application, great efforts and progress have been made in color-tunable SLMs in recent years. In order to realize multicolor luminescence, various design strategies have been proposed. Macrocyclic chemistry, one of the brightest jewels in the field of supramolecular chemistry, has played a crucial role in the construction of stimuli-responsive and emission-tunable SLMs. Moreover, the flexible and tunable conformation and multiple noncovalent complexation sites of the macrocyclic arenes (MAs) afford a new opportunity to create such dynamic smart luminescent materials. Inspired by our reported work on the color-tunable supramolecular crystalline assemblies modulated by the conformation of naphth[4]arene, this Concept provides a summary of the latest developments in the construction of color-tunable MA-based SLMs, accompanied by the various construction strategies. The aim is to provide researchers with a new perspective to construct color-tunable SLMs with fascinating functions.

Abstract Background: Long-term daily health monitoring and management play a more significant role in telehealth management systems nowadays, which require evaluation indicators to present patients' general health conditions and become applicable to multiple chronic diseases.
Objective: This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of subjective indicators of telehealth chronic disease management system (TCDMS).
Methods: We selected Web of Science, ScienceDirect, Scopus, Cochrane library, IEEE, and Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure and Wanfang, a Chinese medical database, and searched papers published from January 1, 2015, to July 1, 2022, regarding randomized controlled trials on the effectiveness of the telehealth system on patients with chronic diseases. The narrative review summarized the questionnaire indicators presented in the selected studies. In the meta-analysis, Mean Difference (MD) and Standardized Mean Difference (SMD) with a 95% CI were pooled depending on whether the measurements were the same. Subgroup analysis was conducted if the heterogeneity was significant, and the number of studies was sufficient.
Results: Twenty RCTs with 4153 patients were included in the qualitative review. Seventeen different questionnaire-based outcomes were found, within which quality of life, psychological well-being (including depression, anxiety, and fatigue), self-management, self-efficacy, and medical adherence were most frequently used. Ten RCTs with 2095 patients remained in meta-analysis. Compared to usual care, telehealth system can significantly improve the quality of life (SMD 0.44; 95% CI 0.16-0.73; P=.002), whereas no significant effects were found on depression (SMD -0.25; 95% CI -0.72 to 0.23; P=.30), anxiety (SMD -0.10; 95% CI -0.27 to 0.07; P=.71), fatigue (SMD -0.36; 95% CI -1.06 to 0.34; P<.001), and self-care (SMD 0.77; 95% CI -0.28-1.81; P<.001). In the subdomains of quality of life, telehealth statistically significantly improved physical functioning (SMD 0.15; 95% CI 0.02 to 0.29; P=.03), mental functioning (SMD 0.37; 95% CI 0.13-0.60; P=.002), and social functioning (SMD 0.64; 95% CI 0.00-1.29; P=.05), while there was no difference on cognitive functioning (MD 8.31; 95% CI -7.33 to 23.95; P=.30) and role functioning (MD 5.30; 95% CI -7.80 to 18.39; P=.43).
Conclusions: TCDMS positively affected patients' physical, mental, and social quality of life across multiple chronic diseases. However, no significant difference was found in depression, anxiety, fatigue, and self-care. Subjective questionnaires had the potential ability to evaluate the effectiveness of long-term telehealth monitoring and management. However, further well-designed experiments are warranted to validate TCDMS's effects on subjective outcomes, especially when tested among different chronically ill groups.

Abstract Macrocyclic arenes including calixarenes, resorcinarenes, cyclotriveratrylene, pillararenes and so on have emerged as highly attractive synthetic macrocyclic hosts due to their unique structures, facile functionalization, and broad range of applications. In recent years, there has been growing interest in the development of novel macrocyclic arenes composed of various aromatic building blocks bridged by methylene groups, which have found applications in various research areas. Consequently, the development of novel macrocyclic arenes has become a frontier and hot topic in supramolecular and macrocyclic chemistry. In this review, we feature the recent advances in the synthesis and applications of novel macrocyclic arenes that have emerged in the last decade. The general synthetic strategies employed for these macrocyclic arenes are systematically summarized, and their wide applications in molecular recognition and assemblies, molecular machines, biomedical science and functional materials are highlighted.
