Abstract Abstract: As cases of type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) increase, so do their impact on sibling relationships. This literature review of four databases from 2010 to 2024 discusses findings from five studies and the themes that emerged: education needs and family functioning. Improvements in family-centered care and education are needed for siblings of children with T1DM.

Abstract 3 instructional videos created for BMB 464, "Analytical and Preparative Biochemical Laboratory Methods," in lieu of synchronous instruction. Videos created at the request of the instructor, Jennifer Newell-Caito. Also, includes files capturing the content and appearance of the corresponding class LibGuide. The footage was created using a combination of video shot with an iPhone SE running the default Camera app, and the Zoom recording feature capturing activity at a office workstation, recording the Zoom voiceover through a Logitech headset. A intro, outro were added, and "button" sound clips trimmed and saved with the free web version of Clideo. The "buttons" in video were added to capture some of the spirit of live instructional sessions, during which usually fill pre-class time by playing subject-specific scientific musical parodies. The videos were trimmed and spliced using the free web version of Kapwing, manually editing the subtitles automatically generated by that software.

Abstract Context: Children with cancer are at risk of poor nutritional status during treatment and into survivorship. Objectively measured taste perception and self-reported food hedonics are 2 factors that may influence food intake.
Objective: This 2-armed systematic review examined whether chemotherapy and radiotherapy affect (1) taste perception and (2) hedonic experiences of children and survivors of childhood cancer.
Data source: A 2-armed systematic literature search was conducted in the Medline, CINAHL, Embase, and PsychInfo database until June 2022. The effects of cancer treatment on objective taste perception or food hedonics (ie, food liking or aversion and appetite) were examined.
Data extraction: Peer-reviewed articles published in English of studies that included children (aged <18 years) or survivors of childhood cancer (any age) were reviewed. Risk of bias was determined using the Evidence Analysis Library by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Data analysis: A total of 1417 articles in the taste search arm and 3862 articles in the hedonics search arm were identified. Of these, 9 and 4 articles were eligible for review, respectively. Cancer treatment had highly variable effects on taste perception during treatment and into survivorship. Learned food aversions were experienced by children receiving chemotherapy treatment and liking of meats and salty foods by children with cancer was affected. The impact of treatment on appetite varied.
Conclusions: Cancer treatment did not uniformly affect taste perception. Food liking may be negatively affected, and learned food aversions may develop during cancer treatment. To establish the clinical relevance of childhood cancer treatment on taste perception and food hedonics, more research is required.

Abstract Background: People who are insecurely housed and use drugs are disproportionately affected by drug poisonings. Nurses are uniquely positioned to utilize harm reduction strategies to address the needs of the whole person. Needle debris encompasses drug paraphernalia discarded in public spaces. Studying needle debris provides a strategic opportunity to identify where drugs are being used and target public health strategies accordingly.
Aim: Our aim in this article is to illustrate how spatial video geonarratives (SVG) combined GPS technology interviews, and videos of locations with needle debris, can elicit valuable data for nursing research.
Methods: Using SVG required knowledge of how to collect data wearing cameras and practice sessions were necessary. A Miufly camera worn at waist height on a belt provided the stability to walk while interviewing stakeholders. We wore the cameras and conducted go-along interviews with outreach workers, while filming the built environment. Upon completion of data collection, both the interview and GPS information were analysed using Wordmapper software.
Conclusions: This methodology resulted in data presented uniquely in both a visual map and narrative. These data were richer than if a single modality had been used. These data highlighted specific contextual factors that were related to the location of needle debris, which created opportunities for nursing interventions to support people experiencing vulnerability.
