Decomposed Implicit Garment Transfer Network for Digital Clothed 3D Human

Abstract 3D virtual try-on enjoys many potential applications and hence has attracted wide attention. However, it remains a challenging task that has not been adequately solved. Existing 2D virtual try-on methods cannot be directly extended to 3D since they lack the ability to perceive the depth of each pixel. Besides, 3D virtual try-on approaches are mostly built on the fixed topological structure and with heavy computation. To deal with these problems, we propose a Decomposed Implicit garment transfer network (DI-Net), which can effortlessly reconstruct a 3D human mesh with the newly try-on result and preserve the texture from an arbitrary perspective. Specifically, DI-Net consists of two modules: 1) A complementary warping module that warps the reference image to have the same pose as the source image through dense correspondence learning and sparse flow learning; 2) A geometry-aware decomposed transfer module that decomposes the garment transfer into image layout based transfer and texture based transfer, achieving surface and texture reconstruction by constructing pixel-aligned implicit functions. Experimental results show the effectiveness and superiority of our method in the 3D virtual try-on task, which can yield more high-quality results over other existing methods.

Abstract Aims: To investigate the indicators affecting the early outcome of patients with sepsis and to explore its prognostic efficacy for sepsis.
Methods: We collected clinical data from 201 patients with sepsis admitted to the emergency department of Xijing Hospital between June 2019 and June 2022. The patients were categorized into groups (survival or fatality) based on their 28-day prognosis. The clinical characteristics, biochemical indexes, organ function-related indicators, and disease scores of the patients were analyzed for both groups. Risk factor analysis was conducted for the indicators with significant differences.
Results: Among the indicators with significant differences between the deceased and survival groups, D-dimer (D-DI), Sequential Organ Failure Assessment (SOFA) score, platelet (PLT), international normalized ratio (INR), and D-DI/PLT were identified as independent risk factors affecting the prognosis of sepsis patients. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves showed that D-DI/PLT (area under the curve (AUC) = 93.9), D-DI (AUC = 89.6), PLT (AUC = 81.3), and SOFA (AUC = 78.4) had good judgment efficacy. Further, Kaplan Meier (K-M) survival analysis indicated that the 28-day survival rates of sepsis patients were significantly decreased when they had high levels of D-DI/PLT, D-DI, and SOFA as well as low PLTs. The hazard ratio (HR) of D-DI/PLT between the two groups was the largest (HR = 16.19).
Conclusions: D-DI/PLT may be an independent risk factor for poor prognosis in sepsis as well as a clinical predictor of patient prognosis.

Abstract: ... In this study, PVC plastics with different levels of di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate (DEHP) content were investigated ...

Abstract Plastic additives, represented by plasticizers, are important components of plastic pollution. Biofilms inevitably form on plastic surfaces when plastic enters the aqueous environment. However, little is known about the effect of biofilms on plastic surfaces on the release of additives therein. In this study, PVC plastics with different levels of di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate (DEHP) content were investigated to study the effect of biofilm growth on DEHP release. The presence of biofilms promoted the migration of DEHP from PVC plastics to the external environment. Relative to biofilm-free controls, although the presence of surface biofilm resulted in 0.8 to 11.6 times lower DEHP concentrations in water, the concentrations of the degradation product, monoethylhexyl phthalate (MEHP) in water, were 2.3 to 57.3 times higher. When the total release amounts of DEHP in the biofilm and in the water were combined, they were increased by 0.6-73 times after biofilm growth. However, most of the released DEHP was adsorbed in the biofilms and was subsequently degraded. The results of this study suggest that the biofilm as a new interface between plastics and the surrounding environment can affect the transport and transformation of plastic additives in the environment through barrier, adsorption, and degradation. Future research endeavors should aim to explore the transport dynamics and fate of plastic additives under various biofilm compositions as well as evaluate the ecological risks associated with their enrichment by biofilms.

Abstract Di (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), di-ethyl phthalate (DEP) and di-isononyl phthalate (DINP) are all endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) for organisms. However, little research has been done on the effects of long-term EDC exposure. The present study found that the zebrafish barely grew during the 7 months of DINP exposure. The fecundity rate (%) of female spawning was lower in the DEHP treatment by 4 months compared to other exposure groups. Zebrafish treated with 12.5-25.0 ppm of DEP for 4 months presented no spawning. Gonadal-somatic index (GSI) levels significantly decreased, and there were more oocytes in the atresia and peri-nucleus stage compared to the control group. In addition, the hatching rate of embryos were 71.02%, 56.92%, and 21.70% for females treated with DINP, DEHP and DEP, respectively. There were also abnormal craniofacial chondrogenesis development on 72 hpf embryos upon females treated with the three EDCs. In conclusion, long term exposure of DEHP, DINP, and DEP did not only affect the reproductive capacity of female zebrafish, but the 3 plasticizers also influence craniofacial cartilage development of its offspring.
