Abstract Integrin αvβ8 is a heterodimeric transmembrane protein on macrophages. Nanosheets can activate the integrin and elicit immune responses, exhibiting adverse immunotoxicity. Understanding the mechanism of integrin activation regulated by nanosheets is crucial for safe and effective use of nanosheets in biomedical applications. Herein, we performed all-atom molecular dynamics simulations to clarify the interactions between integrin αvβ8 in the cell membrane and three types of nanosheets, graphene (GRA), hexagonal boron nitride (BN), and black phosphorus (BP). We observed that BP could adsorb the intracellular end of αv monomer and thus break the inner membrane clasp, an important hydrophobic cluster for maintaining the inactive state of integrin. The association between αv and β8 subunit is weakened, promoting the integrin activation. By contrast, GRA and BN exert little influence on the association state of the integrin. Interestingly, the puckered structure of BP affects the integrin activation, where BP with the armchair direction perpendicular to the membrane plane cannot unpack the integrin. Moreover, the perturbation effect of nanosheets on the membrane was also evaluated. BP shows a milder effect on membrane structures and lipid properties than GRA and BN. This work unravels the molecular basis on the activation of integrin mediated by three nanosheets, and suggests the toxicity and therapeutic effect of well-established nanomaterials in the immune system.

Abstract Continuum manipulator has shown great potential in surgical applications. The flexibility of the continuum manipulator helps it achieve many complicated surgeries, such as neurosurgery, vascular surgery, abdominal surgery, etc. In this paper, we propose a Team Deep Q learning framework (TDQN) to control a 2-DoF surgical continuum manipulator with four cables, where two cables in a pair form one agent. During the learning process, each agent shares state and reward information with the other one, which namely is centralized learning. Using the shared information, TDQN shows better targeting accuracy than multiagent deep Q learning (MADQN) by verifying on a 2-DoF cable-driven surgical continuum manipulator. The root mean square error during tracking with and without disturbance are 0.82mm and 0.16mm respectively using TDQN, whereas 1.52mm and 0.98mm using MADQN respectively.Clinical Relevance-The proposed TDQN shows a promising future in improving control accuracy under disturbance and maneuverability in robotic-assisted endoscopic surgery.

Abstract Objective. To evaluate the effectiveness of honghua injection combined with western medicine in the treatment of coronary heart disease angina pectoris. Methods. Computer extensively searched PubMed, Cochrane Library, Embase, China Biomedical Archives (SinoMed), China Knowledge Network (CNKI), Chinese Journal Full-text Database (VIP), Wanfang Data Knowledge Service Platform (Wanfang), and collected randomized controlled trials (RCTs) of honghua injection combined with western medicine in the treatment of coronary heart disease angina pectoris. Use Review Manager5.3 software for meta-analysis. Results. 21 RCTs were included, involving 1894 participants. Meta-analysis shows that honghua injection combined with western medicine can significantly improve the clinical efficacy (OR = 4.03, 95% CI[2.96,5.49]), electrocardiographic efficacy (OR = 3.39, 95%CI[2.44, 4.70]), can significantly reduce total cholesterol (TC) levels (MD = −0.39, 95% CI[−0.47, −0.31]), triacylglycerol (TG) levels (MD = −0.45, 95% CI[−0.51, −0.39]), increase high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) levels (MD = 0.29,95%CI[0.26,0.32]), reduce low-density lipoprotein Cholesterol (LDL-C) levels (MD = −0.59, 95%CI[−0.79, −0.38]). Five articles reported adverse reactions. Conclusion. Honghua injection combined with western medicine is more effective than western medicine alone in patients with coronary heart disease angina pectoris. More multicenter, large sample, high-quality RCTs are needed to provide evidence.

Abstract The high penetration of distributed generators (DGs) and the large-scale charging loads deteriorate the operational status of flexible distribution networks (FDNs). A soft open point (SOP) can deal with operational issues, such as voltage violations and the high electricity purchasing cost of charging stations. However, the absence of accurate parameters poses challenges to model-based methods. This paper proposes a data-driven operation method of FDNs with charging loads. First, a data-driven model-free adaptive predictive control (MFAPC) approach is proposed to fully involve charging loads in the control of FDN without accurate network parameters. Then, a multi-timescale coordination control model of an SOP with charging loads is established to satisfy the demand of charging loads and improve the control performance. The effectiveness of the proposed method is numerically demonstrated on the modified IEEE 33-node distribution network. The results indicate that the proposed method can effectively reduce the electricity purchasing cost of charging stations and improve the operational performance of FDNs.

Abstract Human body enhancement is an interesting branch of robotics. It focuses on wearable robots in order to improve the performance of human body, reduce energy consumption and delay fatigue, as well as increase body speed. Robot-assisted equipment, such as wearable exoskeletons, are wearable robot systems that integrate human intelligence and robot power. After careful design and adaptation, the human body has energy-saving sports, but it is an arduous task for the exoskeleton to achieve considerable reduction in metabolic rate. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the biomechanics of human sports, the body, and its weaknesses. In this study, a lower limb exoskeleton was classified according to the power source, and the working principle, design idea, wearing mode, material and performance of different types of lower limb exoskeletons were compared and analyzed. The study shows that the unpowered exoskeleton robot has inherent advantages in endurance, mass, volume, and cost, which is a new development direction of robot exoskeletons. This paper not only summarizes the existing research but also points out its shortcomings through the comparative analysis of different lower limb wearable exoskeletons. Furthermore, improvement measures suitable for practical application have been provided.
