    Abstract Background and objectives: Suicidal ideation (SI) during the postpartum phase is linked with suicide, a leading cause of death during this period. Antenatal depression and anxiety symptoms have both been linked with increased risk for postpartum SI. However, research aimed at examining the relative contributions of antenatal anxiety and depression symptoms towards postpartum SI remains nascent. In this study, we investigated the relative contribution of antenatal anxiety symptoms, depression symptoms, and SI towards postpartum SI.
    Design: These data are from a longitudinal study in which American mothers were assessed during pregnancy and again at six- to eight weeks postpartum.
    Methods: Data were analyzed using correlations and logistic regression models.
    Results: Antenatal anxiety symptoms and antenatal depression symptoms were significantly correlated with postpartum SI. Results from a logistic regression model indicated that antenatal anxiety symptoms (T1;
    Conclusions: Antenatal anxiety symptoms, depression symptoms, and SI were positively associated with postpartum SI. When examined simultaneously, anxiety symptoms during the antenatal phase (but not depression symptoms or SI) predicted SI in the postpartum phase.

    Abstract Coronary artery calcium (CAC) scoring is an important prognostic tool for personalized cardiovascular preventive care and has recently been incorporated into American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association guidelines. CAC provides direct visualization and quantification of CAC burden for risk stratification and primary prevention of cardiovascular events in an asymptomatic population. CAC scoring is recommended for individuals with intermediate 10-year atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) risk and selective populations with borderline ASCVD risk. In this review, we outline the interpretation of CAC scores for predicting the risk of cardiovascular events, and we highlight the guidelines for starting statin and potentially starting aspirin therapy. A CAC score of 0 is the strongest negative predictive factor for cardiovascular disease (CVD), and a 0 score can successfully de-risk a patient. On the contrary, higher CAC scores correlate with worse cardiovascular prognostic outcomes. The CAC scan is a widely available and reproducible means for an early look at the atherosclerotic burden, and it can help strategize early interventions. The CAC interpretation and the decision to start treatment need to be personalized based on individual risk factors. We believe the emerging literature supports our contention that the CAC score can be used more broadly to improve the prophylaxis and treatment of a wider range of apparently healthy patients.

    Abstract Objectives: The main goal of this study was to describe the expressive vocabulary of school-age children with mild to moderately severe hearing loss (CHL group) and to compare their performance with children with normal hearing (CNH group) of the same age. Another aim was to examine the interaction between nonword repetition and expressive vocabulary size. Furthermore, the interaction between results on vocabulary tests and background factors, such as the age of diagnosis, age of hearing aid fitting, and amount of hearing aid use, was explored.
    Method: School-aged children with mild to moderately severe, permanent bilateral hearing loss and children with normal hearing were included in this cross-sectional study. The children participated in assessments of naming pictures, defining words, and repetition of nonwords and sentences. Results of the CHL group and the CNH group were compared. The analysis also included the degree of hearing loss, the age of diagnosis, amount of hearing aid use, and level of parental education.
    Results: The CHL group performed significantly below the CNH group on all measures: picture naming, defining words, nonword repetition, and repetition of sentences. The proportion of words pronounced with correct phonological structure when picture naming was more limited in the CHL group than in the CNH group. There was a significant positive correlation between the amount of hearing aid use and nonword repetition ability in the CHL group. Age of diagnosis and age of hearing aid fitting was not significantly correlated with the outcomes of the vocabulary assessments in this study.
    Conclusion: Despite the technological advancement of hearing aids, the expressive vocabulary in school-aged children with mild to moderately severe, permanent bilateral, hearing impairment does not reach the same level as for children with normal hearing, although there is a variation in performance within the group. The variation in the CHL group was not uniquely impacted by either age, degree of hearing loss, or the age of diagnosis. The amount of hearing aid use seems to impact the perception of new words. More studies of expressive vocabulary are needed, because they capture a dimension of word learning that seems particularly sensitive to hearing loss and hearing aid use.

    Abstract The Covid-19 pandemic illustrates that we are never far away from situations that have a scale and impact, which are difficult to predict. Positioned at the intersection of crisis management and resilience, this insider case-study provides the opportunity for a more complete understanding of the organisation-adversity relationship (Williams et al., 2017), by focusing on the third Covid19 wave in Ireland (Dec 2020) and resulting response by an Intensive Care Unit crisis team. The study examines the evolution of seven data supply chains that were developed to support the ICU crisis team through the surge of cases which put the highest level of strain on the Irish health system since the pandemic began. The study focuses on 289 data reviews, which triggered 63 changes each requiring a new iteration of a data supply chain. Incorporating Organisational Mindfulness as the theoretical framework, the study provides an insight into the realities of data management during a crisis but also provides a rich awareness of the complexities of data management that often go unrecognised. In doing so, the study contributes the concept of 'mindful data', which aids managers to understand the key characteristics of resilient data supply chains. The study also provides a rare first-hand insight into how mindful data was constructed, presented, and evolved into an essential element within the critical care environment.
