Abstract To improve the spray drying effect of extract of Wenjing Zhitong Prescription, this study takes the yield, hygroscopic property and the fluidity of dry powder as indexes to screen out auxiliary materials, and the proportion of the auxiliary materials was optimized based on the mixing design experiment; based on that, HPLC method was established for the determination of glycyrrhizin and 6-gingerol in spray powder, the yield of spray powder and the retention rate of the two index components were taken as indexes to further optimize the spray drying parameters. The finally selected auxiliary materials were light magnesium oxide, maltodextrin and silica, and regression equations of dry powder yield, moisture absorption rate, angle of rest with proportion of auxiliary materials were established, and the optimized proportion of auxiliary materials was dry paste-light magnesium oxide-maltodextrin-silica=0.5∶0.305∶0.145∶0.05; according to the optimized drying process parameters of Wenjing Zhitong Prescription, initial temperature was 60 ℃, air inlet temperature was 130 ℃, air flow rate was 35 m~3·h~(-1), atomizing pressure was 40 mm, and liquid inlet speed was 4.5 mL·min~(-1). Under these conditions, the dry powder yield was 90.28%, the retention rate of glycyrrhizin was 74.51%, and the retention rate of 6-gingerol was 72.10%. In this study, optimized auxiliary materials can improve the yield of spray drying and the property of spray powder, and the optimized processing conditions were good for retaining the unstable gingerol components, which can lay a foundation for the further preparation research of meridian warming and pain relieving prescriptions, and provide reference for extract of other traditional Chinese medicine extracts that are difficult to spray drying.

Abstract Purpose: Wenjing decoction is a well-accepted traditional Chinese medicine for the treatment of primary dysmenorrhea in East Asia, but its clinical effectiveness and risk have not been adequately assessed. In this paper, we conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to evaluate the efficacy of Wenjing decoction for the treatment of primary dysmenorrhea.
Methods: Eight databases were used in our research: the Cochrane Library, the Web of Science, PubMed, EMBASE, the Chinese Biomedical Literature Database (CBM), the Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), the Chinese Scientific Journal Database, and the Wan-fang Database. The following search terms were used: (Wenjing decoction OR Wenjing formula OR Wenjing tang) AND (primary dysmenorrhea OR dysmenorrhea OR painful menstruation) AND (randomized controlled trial). No language limitation was used.
Results: A total of 18 studies, including 1736 patients, were included in the meta-analysis. Wenjing decoction was shown to be significantly better than nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs for the improvement of primary dysmenorrhea according to the clinical effective rate (RR 1.41, 95% CI 1.24-1.61), the visual analogue scale (MD -1.77, 95% CI -2.69 to -0.84), and the pain scale for dysmenorrhea (MD -1.81, 95% CI -2.41 to -1.22).
Conclusions: The results supported the clinical use of Wenjing decoction for the treatment of primary dysmenorrhea. However, the quality of the evidence for this finding was low due to a high risk of bias in the included studies. Therefore, well-designed randomized controlled trials are still needed to further evaluate the efficacy of Wenjing decoction for the treatment of primary dysmenorrhea.

Abstract In recent years, urban traffic congestion has seriously affected the healthy development of urbanization in China. And many measures to combat congestion have had little effect . The purpose of this paper is to find out the most reasonable and sustainable measures to control traffic congestion . Based on the theory of system dynamics, this study constructs a model of the formation mechanism of urban traffic congestion in China, and analyzes the thinking error of the traditional strategy of “building roads to eliminate traffic congestion” This study includes the current policy measures to control traffic congestion in the system dynamics model and analyzes the influence of each measure on the formation mechanism of urban traffic congestion. Then, it critiques the unsustainability of rigid policies, such as the vehicle number limit and the “similar road building to control traffic congestion” policies. This study reveals that of the five policies adopted by the government to alleviate traffic congestion, and come to the conclusion: the “sparse block collocation” policy is the most sustainable and fundamental congestion control measure. To achieve efficient traffic congestion control and support the healthy development of urbanization in China in the future, the government should increase the balance of infrastructure investment to improve the slow environment of public transport, adhere to public transport-oriented land development policies, raise the cost of motor vehicle travel, and promote urban traffic.

Abstract Known as one of the “seven wonders of the modern world”, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge connects Hong Kong, Zhuhai, and Macao. The bridge, which lasted 14 years from design to construction, spans the Lingdingyang waters of the South China Sea to the west, connects Macao and Zhuhai artificial islands, and ends at Zhuhai Hongwan. The bridge, which shortens the traffic distance between the three places and allows the economy, culture, and technology of the three places to communicate with each other, opened up a new world. This paper intends to review the process of the construction of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and sort out the expected benefits of the bridge’s opening to traffic. Then, the paper explains the new situation faced by the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge. Based on the outward service function model of city flow and the interaction strength model, we conduct an empirical study on the economic status of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. This paper analyzes the interaction between the cities which are in the Greater Bay Area and uses panel data to conduct regression analysis to verify the important impact of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge on the development of cities in the Pearl River Delta. Finally, conclusions are drawn: Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge is undoubtedly of positive significance to strengthen economic and social ties between the West Bank of the Pearl River and Hong Kong, and Hong Kong has a large economic radiation capacity to the cities that are in the Pearl River Delta and Macao in the construction, finance, transportation, warehousing, and communications industries. And corresponding suggestions are put forward.

Abstract Mycobacterium tuberculosis (TB) infection can involve all immune system components and can result in different disease outcomes. The antibiotic TB drugs require strict adherence to prevent both disease relapse and mutation of drug- and multidrug-resistant strains. To overcome the constraints of pathogen-directed therapy, host-directed therapy has attracted more attention in recent years as an adjunct therapy to enhance host immunity to fight against this intractable pathogen. The goal of this paper is to investigate in-host TB models to provide insights into therapy development. Focusing on therapy-targeting parameters, the parameter regions for different disease outcomes are identified from an established ODE model. Interestingly, the ODE model also demonstrates that the immune responses can both benefit and impede disease progression, depending on the number of bacteria engulfed and released by macrophages. We then develop two Itô SDE models, which consider the impact of demographic variations at the cellular level and environmental variations during therapies along with demographic variations. The SDE model with demographic variation suggests that stochastic fluctuations at the cellular level have significant influences on (1) the T-cell population in all parameter regions, (2) the bacterial population when parameters located in the region with multiple disease outcomes and (3) the uninfected macrophage population in the parameter region representing active disease. Further, considering environmental variations from therapies, the second SDE model suggests that disease progression can slow down if therapies (1) can have fast return rates and (2) can bring parameter values into the disease clearance regions.

Abstract Economic transformation and industrial structure upgrading are critical to achieving environmentally sustainable development. Based on the inaccurate data analysis of the VEC model and the logarithmic average exponential decomposition method, this paper proposes an analysis of the two-way coupling relationship between natural gas energy consumption and environmental pollution. Through the identification of conceptual models of the re-linking and decoupling relationship between energy consumption and environmental pollution, two-dimensional endogenous variables and exogenous variables are determined. The research results show that both energy consumption and CO2 emissions are on the actual data statistical line, with an error of 0. At the end, the article puts forward policy recommendations to promote the coordinated development of urban agglomeration environmental pollution and industrial structure upgrading.

Abstract Context: Some treatments for myopia, such as corneal surgery and scleral shortening, aren't suitable for adolescents under the age of 18. The orthokeratology lens (OKL) and the defocus incorporated multiple segments (DIMS) lens are two possible nonsurgical alternatives, but their comparative advantages and disadvantages remain unclear.
Objective: The study intended to compare the effects of the OKL and the DIMS lens on adolescent myopia and to analyze the related factors affecting corneal injury, to provide a reference for clinical practice.
Design: The research team conducted a retrospective case-control study.
Setting: The study took place at Chongqing Aier Eye Hospital in Chongqing, China.
Participants: Participants were 84 myopic adolescents who had been admitted to the hospital between March 2021 and December 2022.
Interventions: The research team divided participants into two groups: (1) 43 participants who received treatment with orthokeratology lens (OKL), the OKL group, and (2) 41 participants who received treatment with defocus incorporated multiple segments (DIMS) because their parents refused to accept OKL lenses, the DIMS group.
Outcome measures: At baseline and postintervention, the research team: (1) comparatively analyzed the uncorrected visual acuity (UCVA), axial length (AXL), and diopter; (2) measured the spherical equivalent (SE), central corneal thickness (CCT), anterior chamber depth (ACD), accommodative lag (PRA), and negative relative accommodation (NRA); (3) counted the adverse reactions during treatment; and (4) evaluated the factors related to corneal injury.
Results: No significant differences existed between the groups in AXL, diopter, or NRA postintervention (P > .05), but the OKL group had significantly higher UCVA and significantly lower SE, CCT, and ACD than the DIMS group did (P < .05). In terms of safety, the incidence of adverse reactions was significantly higher for the OKL group than for the DIMS group (P = .016). According to the logistic regression analysis, the OKL treatment, corneal edema, and abnormal intraocular pressure (IOP) were independent risk factors for corneal injury (all P < .001).
Conclusions: Both DIMS and OKL can effectively control myopia progression in adolescents, with OKLs being significantly better at improving UCVA and DIMS being safer. Therefore, in the future clinical conservative treatment of myopic adolescents, it's still necessary to choose appropriate myopia-relief methods according to the actual situation and the specific needs of the children.
