Abstract The aim of this study was to determine the difficulties experienced by disabled children and their mothers due to the necessity of being at home during the coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) process. The research is a qualitatively prepared phenomenological-type descriptive study. "Content analysis" was used in the analysis of the interview questions. Semi-structured interview technique was used as the data collection method. It was determined that the disabled child lost the skills he learned during the COVID-19 process; his health was adversely affected; there were disruptions in the education process; behavioral problems began; and he experienced social isolation. As a result, it can be said that both children with disabilities and mothers who care for them try to cope with many difficulties during the COVID-19 process and they are left alone and do not receive support during this process.

Abstract Purpose: The aim of this study was to examine the experience of parents with coronavirus disease 2019 which demanded they separate from their children.
Design and method: Designed as a descriptive and qualitative study; the interviews were guided by a questionnaire developed by researchers in light of the relevant literature.
Findings: It was determined that the obligation of parents to stay separate from their children caused difficulties such as finding someone to take care of their children, coping with the emotions related to being separated, and explaining this situation to their children.
Practice implications: With this study, the difficulties experienced by parents who become ill and separated from their children were revealed. Approaches are suggested that can be used while determining solutions to these larger issues.

Abstract The research has been conducted with the aim of assessing the situations where women who gave birth during the pandemic develop Vulnerable Baby Syndrome and their fear of COVID-19. The research that is descriptive and cross sectional has been performed with 320 mothers who are accessible and accommodate research criteria. Data have been obtained with the Questionnaire that was sent to participants through social media and by using the Fear of COVID-19 Scale (FCV-19S) and Vulnerable Baby Scale (VBS). It is found that the VBS average score (30.54±09.13) is higher than the cutoff score of the scale(27 score). It is indicated that FCV-19S average score of mothers is 18.52±06.90. No meaningful relation is observed when the correlation between the two scales is examined (r=0.08, p=0.15). As a conclusion, it is indicated that FCV-19S and VBS scores of the mothers are high and it is considered that growth and development of babies who are perceived as vulnerable by their mothers during the pandemic may be at risk. According to the outcome of this research, it can be said that high fear of COVID-19 and vulnerable baby syndrome in mothers affect mother and child mental health negatively.

Abstract Aim: This study was conducted to determine the paediatric forensic cases under the age of 18 from of the year of the outbreak of war.
Desing and methods: The population of the study included 16,970 people under the age of 18, who were accepted as forensic cases among 88,052 cases, who presented to the emergency department of Kilis State Hospital between January 2011 and November 2019. The application time of the patients, their nationality, age, gender, their types of application to the emergency department, the event causing the forensic case, and the follow-up and treatment methods in the emergency department were recorded on the standard data entry form.
Results: Among all the paediatric forensic cases, it was determined that 52.0% were Syrian, 70.8% were boys, 30.0% were in the age range of 11 and 15 years and 20.5% had an outpatient treatment.
Conclusions: In this study, although juvenile forensic rates are consistent with the literature, the higher forensic cases of Syrian nationality was determined as a striking result.

Abstract Background: This research demonstrates that nurses feel pain because the pandemic process has separated them from their family and children.
Aim: To examine the family relationship situation of nurses in the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
Methods: The research adopted a descriptive qualitative design. Participants were selected by the snowball method. An individual in-depth interview technique was used while the participants were away. In-depth interviews were made with a total of 27 nurses. Nine of these nurses were excluded from the study due to communication problems and device problems during the interview.
Results: This research showed that nurses suffered from family relationship breakdown and insufficiency in intrafamilial coping. The nurses stayed away from their families due to overtime and fear of COVID-19. They cannot meet the needs of their children and spouses for whom they are responsible, and they cannot spare time for them. They were living a tiring life with great responsibility and faced with mental problems such as burnout syndrome and depression. This study was conducted in three cities with a high number of COVID-19 cases in Turkey. We investigated three themes: Breakdown in continuity of intrafamilial relationship, ineffectiveness in role performance, and ineffective individual coping.
Conclusion: The nurses suffer from conditions such as change in parent-infant/child relation and insufficiency in intrafamilial process coping.

Abstract Objectives: In painful operations like invasive procedures, it is aimed to analyze the effect of making the new-born listen to white noise CD by using the NIPS pain scale.
Methods: This is a randomized control trial of research made on 60 new-borns, ranging from 0-28 day-old, 28 gestational weeks and over, and coming to the intensive care unit in Gaziantep Cengiz Gokcek Maternity and Children Hospital in Turkey. New-borns in the experimental group on invasive procedures were exposed to white noise CD. New-borns were recorded while they were listening to white noise during an invasive procedure. Then, the NIPS pain scale on the questionnaire form and efficiency of white noise have been evaluated by comparing the new-borns' duration of crying.
Results: New-borns' duration of crying has been found statistically significant in the Independent Samples T-test (
Conclusion: In the end, the use of white noise CD on new-born during the invasive procedure has been determined to be applicable.
