Abstract Objectives: As a novel type of theta burst stimulation (TBS), continuous TBS (cTBS) has been shown to have mixed therapeutic effects for major depressive disorder (MDD) or bipolar depression (BD). Thus, we performed a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) of cTBS for treating major depressive episodes in patients with MDD or BD.
Methods: A systematic search of four major bibliographic databases (PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, and PsycINFO) was conducted from inception dates to February 3, 2023 to identify eligible studies. The data were analyzed using a random-effects model.
Results: Three RCTs (n = 78, active cTBS = 37 and sham cTBS = 41) were included the meta-analysis. No significant differences were found in terms of change in Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HAMD) scores (3 RCTs, n = 78, SMD = -0.09, 95 % CI: -0.53 to 0.36; I
Limitations: Meta-analysis had small sample sizes and low number of included studies.
Conclusions: Although cTBS appeared to be a safe and well-tolerated option for treating major depressive episodes in MDD or BD patients, no advantage in treatment effects was found in this meta-analysis. Future large-scale studies are warranted to assess the efficacy of cTBS for MDD or BD patients with a major depressive episode.

Abstract Kidney failure, one of the most prevalent diseases in the world and with increasing incidence, is associated with substantial morbidity and mortality. Currently available modes of kidney replacement therapy include dialysis and kidney transplantation. Though kidney transplantation is the preferred and ideal mode of kidney replacement therapy, this modality, however, is not without its risks. Kidney transplant recipients are constantly at risk of complications associated with immunosuppression, namely, opportunistic infections (e.g., Epstein-Barr virus and cytomegalovirus infections), post-transplant lymphoproliferative disorder

Abstract Although influenza vaccines are safe and efficacious, vaccination rates have remained low globally. Today, with the advent of new media, many individuals turn to social media for personal health questions and information. However, misinformation may be rife, and health communications may be suboptimal. This study, therefore, aimed to investigate the public messaging related to influenza vaccines by organizations over Twitter, which may have a far-reaching influence. The theoretical framework of the COM-B (capacity, opportunity, and motivation component of behavior) model was used to interpret the findings to aid the design of messaging strategies. Employing search terms such as "flu jab", "flu vaccine", "influenza vaccine", and '" influenza jab", tweets posted in English and by organizations from 1 January 2017 to 1 March 2023 were extracted and analyzed. Using topic modeling, a total of 235,261 tweets by organizations over Twitter were grouped into four main topics: publicizing campaigns to encourage influenza vaccination, public education on the safety of influenza vaccine during pregnancy, public education on the appropriate age to receive influenza vaccine, and public education on the importance of influenza vaccine during pregnancy. Although there were no glaring pieces of misinformation or misconceptions, the current public messaging covered a rather limited scope. Further information could be provided about influenza and the benefits of vaccination (capability), promoting community, pharmacist-led influenza vaccination, and other avenues (opportunity), and providing greater incentivization and support for vaccination (motivation).

Abstract We aimed to systematically evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of accelerated intermittent theta burst stimulation (aiTBS) for patients with major depressive disorder (MDD) or bipolar depression (BD). A random-effects model was adopted to analyze the primary and secondary outcomes using the Review Manager, Version 5.3 software. This meta-analysis (MA) identified five double-blind randomized controlled trials (RCTs) comprising 239 MDD or BD patients with a major depressive episode. Active aiTBS overperformed sham stimulation in the study-defined response. This MA found preliminary evidence that active aiTBS resulted in a greater response in treating major depressive episodes in MDD or BD patients than sham stimulation.
