    Abstract El acelerado crecimiento demográfico y la creciente demanda internacional de productos agrícolas han propiciado la conversión de extensas áreas de tierra para la producción agrícola intensiva de varios monocultivos en el Ecuador. El presente trabajo tiene por objetivo transición entre el uso y la ocupación del suelo y los cambios que ha habido en la cuenca del río Santa Rosa, se utilizaron fotografías satelitales de los años 1990, 2000,2008 y 2018 para registrar los cambios en la ocupación del suelo. Los resultados mostraron que la superficie y la densidad de la cubierta forestal han disminuido significativamente durante el período de estudio. Los cambios en la cubierta terrestre, y en particular en la cubierta forestal, se atribuyen principalmente al aumento de la población, por tanto, a las intervenciones humanas, como los cultivos, la tala, también se examinó, el efecto la cubierta terrestre. Se obtuvieron resultados negativos en cuanto al cambio abrumante de la cobertura del suelo que podrían proporcionar explicaciones sustanciales de los cambios de la cubierta terrestre y su remplazo acelerado especialmente por monocultivo del banano y cacao.

    Abstract El presente trabajo cumple con ofrecer a la comunidad de La Avanzada el fortalecimiento de las potencialidades turísticas que posee, a través de un proyecto de vinculación con la sociedad titulado Fortalecimiento a las potencialidades turísticas de la Avanzada, del cantón Santa Rosa, el mismo que propone una educación para el desarrollo sostenible, es decir ampliar los conocimientos de su población para emprender exitosamente actividades de turismo comunitario mejorando así las capacidades a través del bioconocimiento, este reto los llevará a mejorar sus condiciones de vida, por medio del desarrollo económico en el presente sin descuidar las necesidades de las futuras generaciones, dicho en otras palabras estableciendo una estrecha relación entre el ser humano, desarrollo económico y medio ambiente. La viabilidad de la propuesta está fundamentada en la iniciativa que la población demuestra para enrumbar a La Avanzada no solo como su lugar de residencia sino como una verdadera fuente de desarrollo social, económico y cultural.

    Title translation Comparative analysis of growth and sexual maturation in girls of Santa Rosa (La Pampa) and La Plata (Buenos Aires), Argentina.
    Abstract The aim of this study was to analyze growth in relation to menarche in girls from two Argentinean urban populations. We performed a comparative-descriptive cross sectional study in 2474 schoolchildren between 8.0 and 16.9 years old from Santa Rosa (SR) and La Plata (LP) cities. We registered the presence of menarche and anthropometrics variables of body weight, total and sitting heights, arm circumference, triceps and subscapular skinfolds. Body mass index, subscapular/triceps index and muscle and fat arm areas were calculated. The study group was divided into 4 groups according to the city and menarche. The socio-environmental structured survey indicated significant differences between cities with these variables: tenure status, building materials and services, health care coverage, cash assistance, educational level and parents' occupation, therefore establishing a higher welfare in youngsters of SR. Menarche at a mean age of 12.7 years old was more prevalent in SR (40.6%) than in LP (33.7%) (c2 = 12.9; p < 0.01). The ANOVA indicated significant differences between cities in total and sitting heights and muscle area (p < 0.01), body weight and arm circumference (p < 0.05) which were generally held in the post hoc comparison by age in pre-menarche and post-menarche groups. The presence of a small body size at the expense of lowering in: total height, muscle area and leg length in LP youngsters, associated with a lower prevalence of menarche in this city, it would represents the adaptive cost of a lower welfare environment.

    Abstract The temperate forest of Quercus spp. Santa Rosa is one ofthe most extensive forests in central Mexico. In this forest,charcoal is produced traditionally by rural communities.This study evaluated the impact of the activity of charcoalproduction in three sampling sites of the forest, soil fromthe impact site, land adjacent to the site of charcoalproduction and control soil without charcoal productionactivity on physicochemical and microbiological properties.We determined pH, concentration of macro-and microelementswas performed by calculating microbial colonyforming units (CFU) of bacteria, fungi, actinomycetes andpromoting growth of plants rhizobacteria (PGPR). Finally,we determined microbial biomass by fumigation-incubationmethod. On the floor of coal production, an increase in pH,the concentration of cations forming bases (Ca2 + and K+)and a high regard microbial fungi, bacteria andactinomycetes, but the microbial biomass and organicmatter content was higher in the control soil, in terms ofRPCP only isolated in the soil adjacent to coal productionsite and the control soil. The physicochemical changesproduced by the warming effect of soil significantlyaffected the microbial community favoring the reduction orelimination of dominant groups sensitive to hightemperatures that are actively involved in the dynamics ofsoil processes

    Abstract El presente trabajo muestra, a través de un estudio bibliométrico, la evolución de la producción científica española sobre Biblioteconomía y Documentación en las últimas cuatro décadas (1980-2019). Se estudia, en bloques de 10 años, la evolución de aspectos cuantitativos y cualitativos de la misma. Los datos muestran un notable incremento en la producción total, así como en el porcentaje de artículos, trabajos en español y trabajos en open access, también en la coautoría y la colaboración internacional, así como en los porcentajes de documentos citados y utilizados, mientras que el porcentaje de documentos liderados decrece levemente, como también lo hace el promedio de citas por documento en la última década analizada. Las fuentes nacionales comienzan a posicionarse como las más utilizadas por los autores en la última década estudiada. El Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC) es la institución más productiva en cada una de las décadas analizadas.

    Abstract Worldwide, fetal growth restriction (FGR) affects 7%-10% of pregnancies, or roughly 20.5 million infants, each year. FGR increases not only neonatal mortality and morbidity but also the risk of obesity in later life. Currently, the molecular mechanisms by which FGR "programs" an obese phenotype are not well understood. Studies demonstrate that FGR females are more prone to obesity compared to males; however, the molecular mechanisms that lead to the sexually dimorphic programming of FGR are not known. Thus, we hypothesized that FGR leads to the sexually dimorphic programming of preadipocytes and reduces their ability to differentiate into mature adipocytes. To test the hypothesis, we utilized a maternal hyperthermia-induced placental insufficiency to restrict fetal growth in sheep.
