Abstract With the development of the economy and society, the environmental problems caused by heavy metals have always been the focus of attention. Strong concern has been recently shown for the heavy metal pollution of soils in southwestern China. The heavy metals of surface soils in the Xinping area of Yunnan province, China are surveyed along with some crop samples. There are 3312 surface soils and 95 crop samples collected in about 370 square kilometers. Heavy metals including As, Cd, Cr, Hg, and Pb and pH are analyzed. New single and integrated pollution indices of heavy metals for soils ( PI and PI n ) and crops ( PI c and PI n c ) based on Chinese criteria (GB15618-2018 and GB2762-2022) are described and presented here and used to assess the pollution status of heavy metals. The results indicate that the background level of surface soils is about 62.1%, the screening level is about 33.4%, and the intervention level is about 4.5%, which is mainly a result from Cr and spatially coincides with the peridotite rock, indicating a geogenic pollution source. Most crop samples are not contaminated with heavy metals. Comparing the results of the two integrated pollution indices between soils and crops, two inconsistent assessments are observed. One is that some contaminated crops are growing in unpolluted areas (or Type I) and the other is that some uncontaminated crops are growing in polluted areas (or Type II). This indicates a new challenge between the assessment criteria on soils and crops.

Abstract Gears, as indispensable components of machinery, demand accurate prediction of their Remaining Useful Life (RUL). To enhance the utilization of ordered information within time series data and elevate RUL prediction precision, this study introduces the attention-guided multi-hierarchy LSTM (AGMLSTM). This innovative approach leverages attention mechanisms to capture the intricate interplay between high and low hierarchical features of the input data, marking the first application of such a technique in gear RUL prediction. Additionally, a refined health indicator (HI) is introduced, constructed through a diffusion model, to precisely reflect the gears' health condition. The proposed RUL prediction method unfolds as follows: firstly, HIs are computed from gear vibration data. Subsequently, leveraging the known HIs, AGMLSTM predicts future HIs, and the RUL of the gear is determined upon surpassing the failure threshold. Quantitative analysis of experimental results conclusively demonstrates the superiority of the proposed RUL prediction method over existing approaches for gear RUL estimation.

Abstract The low ionic conductivities of aprotic electrolytes hinder the development of extreme fast charging technologies and applications at low temperatures for lithium-ion batteries (LIBs). Herein, we present an electrolyte with LiFSI in acetone (DMK). In DMK electrolytes, the solvation number is three, and solvent-separated ion pairs (SSIPs) are the dominant structure, which is largely different from other linear aprotic electrolytes where salts primarily exist as contact ion pairs (CIPs). With incompact solvation structures due to the weak solvation ability of DMK with Li

Abstract Network games primarily explore the intricacies of individual interactions and adaptive strategies within a network. Building upon this framework, the present study delves into the modeling, analysis, and control of heterogeneously networked evolutionary games with intergroup conflicts heterogeneously networked evolutionary games with intergroup conflict (HNEG-IC), where attacking players possess area-monitoring capabilities with limited attacking power. To begin with, a mathematical model is introduced to capture intragroup strategy dynamics and intergroup conflicts of HNEGs-IC via the algebraic state space representationalgebraic state space representation (ASSR). A necessary and sufficient condition for achieving global cooperation of HNEGs-IC is established. Then, a criterion for verifying the κ -cooperation below a certain mortality is presented. Considering the HNEGs-IC with strategy feedback control, it is proven that the feedback control, subject to global cooperation, is robust to conflicts when the intersection of the strategy threshold set and the reachable set of the preset initial strategy profiles is empty. Finally, for verification and demonstration, the obtained results are applied to a simplified virtual game model of the NATO and the Warsaw Pact.

Abstract Compared to either HIV or hepatitis B virus (HBV) monoinfected individuals, HIV/HBV-coinfected individuals have a decreased probability of spontaneous HBV clearance and a greater risk of developing chronic liver damage and a faster progression to cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. This manuscript attempts to provide a comprehensive review of the landscape of current HIV/HBV coinfection research with a focus on the intricate interactions between these two viruses. Our review will help understand the disease dynamics of HIV/HBV coinfection and has important implications for designing public health strategies.

Abstract The mixed data sampling (MIDAS) model has attracted increasing attention due to its outstanding performance in dealing with mixed frequency data. However, most MIDAS model extension studies are based on statistical methods or machine learning models, which suffer from insufficient prediction performance and stability in small sample environments. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a novel mixed frequency sampling discrete grey model (MDGM(1, N)), which is a coupled form of the MIDAS model and discrete grey multivariate model. By adjusting the structure parameters, the model can be adapted to different sampling frequencies data, and degenerate into several types of grey models. Then, the unbiasedness and stability of the model are proved using the mathematical analysis method and numerical random experiment. The meta-heuristic algorithm is introduced to obtain the optimal weight parameters and the maximum lag order, improving the model's fitting ability to mixed frequency data. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the new model, a model evaluation system consisting of traditional evaluation metrics and a monotonicity test is established. Taking four hard disk drive failure datasets as research cases, the performance of the proposed model is compared with seven mainstream benchmark models. The results show that the proposed model has excellent applicability and outperforms other competition models in terms of validity, stability, and robustness. Furthermore, it is observed that the reported uncorrectable errors and the command timeout have a greater impact on hard disk drive failure. Finally, the new model is employed to forecast the failure of four hard disk drives. The forecasting results indicate that in the next four time points with a cycle of 21 days beginning in April 2023, the failure of the smaller capacity hard disk drives (0055 and 0086, corresponding to 8TB and 10TB) show a decreasing trend, reaching 67.442% and 89.7683%, respectively. The failure of the other larger capacity hard disk drives (0007 and 0138, corresponding to 12TB and 14TB) has increased, with a growth rate of 17.1016% and 123.7899%.
