Abstract The construction of stable cathode electrolyte interphase (CEI) is the key to improve the NCM811 particle structure and interfacial stability via electrolyte engineering. In He's work, lithium hexamethyldisilazide (LiHMDS) as the electrolyte additive is proposed to facilitate the generation of stable CEI on NCM811 cathode surface and eliminate H

Abstract For medical image retrieval task, deep hashing algorithms are widely applied in large-scale datasets for auxiliary diagnosis due to the retrieval efficiency advantage of hash codes. Most of which focus on features learning, whilst neglecting the discriminate area of medical images and hierarchical similarity for deep features and hash codes. In this paper, we tackle these dilemmas with a new Multi-scale Triplet Hashing (MTH) algorithm, which can leverage multi-scale information, convolutional self-attention and hierarchical similarity to learn effective hash codes simultaneously. The MTH algorithm first designs multi-scale DenseBlock module to learn multi-scale information of medical images. Meanwhile, a convolutional self-attention mechanism is developed to perform information interaction of the channel domain, which can capture the discriminate area of medical images effectively. On top of the two paths, a novel loss function is proposed to not only conserve the category-level information of deep features and the semantic information of hash codes in the learning process, but also capture the hierarchical similarity for deep features and hash codes. Extensive experiments on the Curated X-ray Dataset, Skin Cancer MNIST Dataset and COVID-19 Radiography Dataset illustrate that the MTH algorithm can further enhance the effect of medical retrieval compared to other state-of-the-art medical image retrieval algorithms.

Abstract The impaired endometrial receptivity is a major factor contributing to infertility in patients with endometriosis (EM), but the underlying mechanism remains unclear. Our study aimed to investigate the role of Kruppel-like factor 15 (KLF15) in endometrial receptivity and its regulation in EM. We observed a significant decrease in KLF15 expression in the mid-secretory epithelial endometrial cells of EM patients compared to normal females without EM. To confirm the role of KLF15 in endometrial receptivity, we found a significantly reduced KLF15 expression and a significant decrease in embryo implantation number in the rat model via uterine horn infection with siRNA. This highlights the importance of KLF15 as a regulator receptivity. Furthermore, through ChIP-qPCR, we discovered that the progesterone receptor (PR) directly binds to KLF15 promoter regions, indicating that progesterone resistance may mediate the decrease in KLF15 expression in EM patients. Additionally, we found that the mid-secretory endometrium of EM patients exhibited impaired epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT). Knockdown of KLF15 upregulated E-cadherin and downregulated vimentin expression, leading to inhibited invasiveness and migration of Ishikawa cells. Overexpression KLF15 promotes EMT, invasiveness, and migration ability, and increases the attachment rate of JAR cells to Ishikawa cells. Through RNA-seq analysis, we identified TWIST2 as a downstream gene of KLF15. We confirmed that KLF15 directly binds to the promoter region of TWIST2 via ChIP-qPCR, promoting epithelial cell EMT during the establishment of endometrial receptivity. Our study reveals the involvement of KLF15 in the regulation of endometrial receptivity and its downstream effects on EMT. These findings provide valuable insights into potential therapeutic approaches for treating non-receptive endometrium in patients with EM.

Abstract Aqueous electrochemical energy storage devices (AEESDs) are considered one of the most promising candidates for large-scale energy storage infrastructure due to their high affordability and safety. Developing electrodes with the merits of high energy density and long lifespan remains a challenging issue toward the practical application of AEESDs. Research attempts at electrode materials, nanostructure configuration, and electronic engineering show the limitations due to the inherent contradictions associated with thicker electrodes and ion-accessible kinetics. Herein, we propose an intercalation chemistry engineering strategy to enhance the electrolyte ion (de)intercalation behaviors during the electrochemical charge-discharge. To validate this strategy, the prototypical model of a high-mass-loading MnO

Abstract Introduction: Neuregulin-1 (NRG-1) appears to play a role in the pathogenesis of several neuropsychiatric disorders, including epilepsy. We conducted a study to investigate the effect of anti-seizure medication on NRG-1 mRNA and NRG-1 protein levels in patients with first-episode focal epilepsy.
Methods: The levels of NRG-1 mRNA isoforms (type I, II, III, and IV) in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) of 39 healthy controls, 39 first-episode focal epilepsy patients before anti-seizure medication (ASM) therapy and four weeks after administration of ASM were measured by RT-qPCR, and the levels of NRG-1 protein in the serum of samples of each group were determined using ELISA. In addition the relationship between efficacy, NRG-1 mRNA expression, and NRG-1 protein expression was analyzed.
Results: The levels of NRG-1 mRNA progressively increased in patients with first-episode focal epilepsy treated with ASM and were distinctly different from those before medication, but remained lower than in healthy controls (all
Conclusion: Our research indicated that NRG-1 may play a role in the pathophysiology of epilepsy. NRG-1 mRNA may provide ideas for the discovery of novel epilepsy therapeutic markers and therapeutic targets for novel ASM.
