Abstract Surface plasmon resonance sensors have been widely used in various fields for label-free and real-time detection of biochemical species due to their high sensitivity to the refractive index change of the surrounding environment. The common practices to achieve the improvement of sensitivity are to adjust the size and morphology of the sensor structure. This strategy is tedious and, to some extent, limits the applications of surface plasmon resonance sensors. Instead, the effect of the incident angle of excited light on the sensitivity of a hexagonal Au nanohole array sensor with a period of 630 nm and a hole diameter of 320 nm is theoretically investigated in this work. By exploring the peak shift of reflectance spectra of the sensor when facing a refractive index change in (1) the bulk environment and (2) the surface environment adjacent to the sensor, we can obtain the bulk sensitivity and surface sensitivity. The results show that the bulk sensitivity and surface sensitivity of the Au nanohole array sensor can be improved by 80% and 150%, respectively, by simply increasing the incident angle from 0° to 40°. The two sensitivities both remain nearly unchanged when the incident angle further changes from 40° to 50°. This work provides new understanding of the performance improvement and advanced sensing applications of surface plasmon resonance sensors.

Abstract This study explores the synthesis and characterization of a novel double cross-linked hydrogel composed of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), sodium alginate (SA), graphene oxide (GO), and glutathione (GSH), henceforth referred to as PVA/SA/GO/GSH. This innovative hydrogel system incorporates two distinct types of cross-linking networks and is meticulously engineered to exhibit sensitivity to high glucose and/or reactive oxygen species (ROS) environments. A sequential approach was adopted in the hydrogel formation. The initial phase involved the absorption of GSH onto GO, which was subsequently functionalized with boric acid and polyethylene glycol derivatives via a bio-orthogonal click reaction. This stage constituted the formation of the first chemically cross-linked network. Subsequently, freeze-thaw cycles were utilized to induce a secondary cross-linking process involving PVA and SA, thereby forming the second physically cross-linked network. The resultant PVA/SA/GO/GSH hydrogel retained the advantageous hydrogel properties such as superior water retention capacity and elasticity, and additionally exhibited the ability to responsively release GSH under changes in glucose concentration and/or ROS levels. This feature finds particular relevance in the therapeutic management of diabetic ulcers. Preliminary

Abstract Background: Diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) carries high rates of major amputation and mortality.
Aims: The goals of this study were to identify expression of circulating lncRNA DLEU1 and miR-96-5p in patients with diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) and to explore the function of lncRNA DLEU1/miR-96-5p axis in DFU.
Methods: Matched patients with DFU and healthy individuals were randomly selected. Serum samples from all subjects were used for circulating lncRNA DLEU1 and miR-96-5p assessment by RT-qPCR. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was plotted to assess the discriminative capacity of lncRNA DLEU1 and miR-96-5p in identifying DFU. Cell proliferation was detected by CCK-8 assay. Cell apoptosis was assayed by Annexin V-FITC/PI staining method. Bioinformatics, luciferase reporter activity assay, and in vitro cell experiments were used to explore the relationship between lncRNA DLEU1 and miR-96-5p.
Results: LncRNA DLEU1 and miR-96-5p were significantly up- and downregulated in patients with DFU, respectively, compared with controls. After ROC assessment, lncRNA DLEU1 and miR-96-5p were found to discriminate DFU from miR-96-5p. Furthermore, lncRNA DLEU1 inhibited human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) cell proliferation and increased HUVECs apoptosis and oxidative stress through sponging miR-96-5p.
Conclusion: Our findings suggest lncRNA DLEU1 and miR-96-5p as circulating biomarkers for DFU. Also, we provide the clue for the pathogenic significance of lncRNA DLEU1/miR-96-5p in DFU, as well as insights for new potential targets.

Abstract The restructuring of global value chain restructuring has created both opportunities and challenges for Chinese manufacturers. In the process, OEM-ODM-OBM has been a typical upgrade path for manufacturing enterprises to integrate into the global value chain. However, this path may not be appropriate for Chinese midstream enterprises in the industry chain. This paper performs a longitudinal analysis of 30-year reform of Shennan Circuits, a typical midstream manufacturing business in the industry chain in China. Based on the smiling curve theory, we systematically analyzed how Shennan Circuit constantly scanned over the industry, its customers, competitors, and leveraged its own capability and resources against the background of global value chain restructuring to successfully integrate into the global value chain, enhance competitiveness while completing business transformation and upgrade. Given the case study, this paper proposes three types of transformation solutions with eight specific paths and the ICCA opportunity scanning analysis method for China’s midstream manufacturers in the industry chain as references.

Abstract Background: To explore the clinical nursing effect of parenteral nutrition combined with enteral nutrition support in neurosurgery.
Methodology: 200 neurosurgical patients were randomly divided into two groups. The time of parenteral nutrition combined with enteral nutrition support in our hospital (January 2021) was used as the cut-off point, the PN group and the PN+EN group were divided according to the cut-off point. Nutritional status, immune status, occurrence of adverse events, prognosis-related indicators were compared between the two groups.
Results: Nutritional status and immune status at 7 days of nutritional support in the PN+EN group were higher than those in the PN group, The difference was statistically significant. The total incidence of adverse events in the PN+EN group (3.00%) was significantly lower than that in the PN group (11.00%), and the difference was statistically significant. The average ICU treatment time, average hospital stay and emerging infection rate in the PN+EN group were lower than those in the PN group, and the differences were statistically significant (
Conclusion: Parenteral nutrition combined with enteral nutrition support in neurosurgery can achieve a more ideal intervention effect. It is beneficial to the prognosis of patients and has a certain value of promotion and application.
