Abstract Recently, many companies have introduced automated defect detection methods for defect-free PCB manufacturing. In particular, deep learning-based image understanding methods are very widely used. In this study, we present an analysis of training deep learning models to perform PCB defect detection stably. To this end, we first summarize the characteristics of industrial images, such as PCB images. Then, the factors that can cause changes (contamination and quality degradation) to the image data in the industrial field are analyzed. Subsequently, we organize defect detection methods that can be applied according to the situation and purpose of PCB defect detection. In addition, we review the characteristics of each method in detail. Our experimental results demonstrated the impact of various degradation factors, such as defect detection methods, data quality, and image contamination. Based on our overview of PCB defect detection and experiment results, we present knowledge and guidelines for correct PCB defect detection.

Abstract Anesthetic management of achondroplastic patients warrants special anatomical and physiological considerations due to significant variations in the airway as well as the spine in regional techniques. In this report, we present the case of a 30-year-old morbidly obese male with achondroplasia, end-stage renal disease (ESRD) on hemodialysis, and renal osteodystrophy, who was scheduled for incision and drainage of a rectal abscess. Preoperative evaluation revealed Mallampati IV airway with a short neck and a scoliotic spine with possible atlantoaxial instability.

Abstract Pristine nanomaterials are normally prepared using finely controlled fabrication processes. Because no imperfect nanostructure remains, they cannot be used directly as electrode substrates of functional devices. This is because perfectly organized nanostructures or nanomaterials commonly require posttreatment to generate intentionally, the kinds of desirable defects inside or on their surfaces that enable effective functionalization. Plasma treatment is an easier, simpler and more widely used way (relative to other methods) to modify a variety of nanomaterials, although plasma-functionalized nano surfaces commonly have a short lifetime. We present herein a dual plasma treatment (DPT) that significantly enhances the degree and lifetime of plasma-induced surface functional groups on single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs). The DPT process consists of two individually optimized oxygen-plasma treatments. The DPT-modified SWCNT functioned as a sensing material for ammonia gas for more than a month. It also provided more than three times the degree of functionality for amplified signal output than with a single-plasma-treated SWCNT electrode.

Abstract In this paper, we present a 6-bit phase shifter designed and fabricated using the 150 nm GaN HEMT process. The designed phase shifter operates within the n260 (37~40 GHz) band, as specified in the 5G NR standard, and employs the structure of a switched-filter phase shifter. By serially connecting six single-bit phase shifters, ranging from 180° to 5.625°, the designed phase shifter achieves a phase range of 360°. The fabricated phase shifter exhibits a minimum insertion loss of 5 dB and an RMS phase error of less than 5.36° within the 37 to 40 GHz. This phase shifter is intended for seamless integration with high-power RF circuits.

Abstract Purpose: We investigated the prognostic value of maximum tumor dissemination (Dmax), the distance between malignant lesions that were farthest apart, as assessed by fluorine-18 fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography (FDG PET/CT), and other clinical factors in patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL).We investigated the prognostic value of maximum tumor dissemination (Dmax), the distance between malignant lesions that were farthest apart, as assessed by fluorine-18 fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography (FDG PET/CT), and other clinical factors in patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL).
Methods: Patients who underwent FDG PET/CT for initial staging and treatment response evaluation of DLBCL were reviewed retrospectively. Baseline Dmax, maximum standardized uptake value, total summation of all metabolic tumor volumes (tMTV), and total summation of all total lesion glycolysis (tTLG) were measured. The treatment response was evaluated at the interim and end of first-line treatment (EOT) using the Deauville score (DS). FDG PET/CT parameters and other clinical factors including sex, age, serum lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) level, stage, performance status, and the International Prognostic Index (IPI) were analyzed to identify factors prognostic of the time to progression (TTP) and disease-specific survival (DSS).
Results: A total of 63 patients were included. Univariate survival analysis identified Dmax (> 275 mm), tMTV (> 180 mL), tTLG (> 1300), interim DS (≥ 4), and EOT DS (≥ 4) as significant predictors of poor TTP. Serum LDH level (> 640 IU/L), IPI (≥ 4), tMTV (> 180 mL), tTLG (> 1300), interim DS (≥ 4), and EOT DS (≥ 4) were significant predictors of DSS. After multivariate survival analysis, Dmax (
Conclusions: Dmax at the time of diagnosis and the EOT response assessed by FDG PET/CT provide useful prognostic information additive to the IPI in patients with DLBCL.
