Abstract Based on the rural regional characteristics, this paper analyzes the types and characteristics of linear space, and discusses the landscape design strategies of rural linear space in the context of territoriality. Specifically, it explores the landscape design path of rural linear space through spatial sequence fabric, detail context narrative, local materials and technology vocabulary application, and takes the landscape design of Haiou Island Rural pedestrian street as an example to do a further practical demonstration.

Abstract Background: The incidence of Ulcerative colitis (UC), a key form of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) affecting the rectum and colon, is increasing globally. The advancement in microbiome and metabolomics research has revealed the crucial involvement of the intestinal microbiota in the pathogenesis and progression of UC. Chinese herbal medicines, characterized by structural diversity and multiple pharmacological activities, consistently serve as vital sources for developing anti-UC drugs. Methods: In this review, we searched and focused on several online databases, including the Web of Science, Science Direct, PubMed, and Google Scholar, using three keywords: “ulcerative colitis”, “intestinal microbiota”, and “Chinese herbal medicine” from 2013 to 2023. This review aims to uncover the mechanism of action of intestinal microbiota in the occurrence and development of UC and to explore the potential of Chinese herbal medicine in preventing and treating UC within the context of intestinal microbiota regulation. Results: This review summarizes the critical role of the intestinal microbiota in maintaining intestinal homeostasis by facilitating the repair of the intestinal epithelial cell barrier, modulating the immune system, and regulating pivotal metabolisms, including bile acids, amino acids, and short-chain fatty acids. Specifically, Chinese herbal medicines, comprising active ingredients such as polysaccharides, polyphenols, alkaloids, flavonoids, and terpenoids, as well as single Chinese herbal medicines and their extracts (extracts from Pulsatilla chinensis (Bunge) Regelcan, Ceandntella asiatica (L.) Urb., Heritiera littoralis fruit., and so on), and several combination preparations (for example, Ganluyin, Jiawei Gegen Qinlian Decoction, Baitouweng Tang), are capable of preventing and treating UC by regulating the gut flora. This, in turn, contributes to the repair of the intestinal epithelial barrier, modulation of the immune system, and regulation of those metabolisms. Conclusion: Overall, our study presents a ...

Abstract Excessive soil salinity is a problem that makes soil unusable for agriculture, and most current research focuses on either chemical supplements or water conservation measures. Nevertheless, more information is needed about how sand treatment affects soil quality. In this study, a field experiment assessed the effect of sand application and cropping year on soil properties in an arid and semi-arid saline-sodic agricultural ecosystem. We found that sand application significantly improved the saline–alkali soil’s physical (i.e., pH, EC, TSC, BD), chemical (i.e., OC, AN, AP), and enzyme activity (i.e., Amy, Ure, Alp, Cat) properties, and that soil AN, AP, as well as TSC, were the crucial factors affecting soil properties. Simultaneously, soil properties gradually improved along with increasing cropping years, although these increases gradually became small. Our findings highlight the potential of sand as a soil supplement to enhance soil quality and structure in semi-arid agricultural ecosystems, especially when considering the cost.

Abstract Abstract: Esophageal cancer (EC) is one of the most common aggressive malignant tumors in the digestive system with a severe epidemiological situation and poor prognosis. The early diagnostic rate of EC is low, and most EC patients are diagnosed at an advanced stage. Multiple multimodality treatments have gradually evolved into the main treatment for advanced EC, including surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, targeted therapy, and immunotherapy. And the emergence of targeted therapy and immunotherapy has greatly improved the survival of EC patients. This review highlights the latest advances in targeted therapy and immunotherapy for EC, discusses the efficacy and safety of relevant drugs, summarizes related important clinical trials, and tries to provide references for therapeutic strategy of EC.

Abstract Axillary bud outgrowth, a key factor in ratoon rice yield formation, is regulated by several phytohormone signals. The regulatory mechanism of key genes underlying ratoon buds in response to phytohormones in ratoon rice has been less reported. In this study, GR24 (a strigolactone analogue) was used to analyze the ratooning characteristics in rice cultivar Huanghuazhan (HHZ). Results show that the elongation of the axillary buds in the first seasonal rice was significantly inhibited and the ratoon rate was reduced at most by up to 40% with GR24 treatment. Compared with the control, a significant reduction in the content of auxin and cytokinin in the second bud from the upper spike could be detected after GR24 treatment, especially 3 days after treatment. Transcriptome analysis suggested that there were at least 742 and 2877 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) within 6 h of GR24 treatment and 12 h of GR24 treatment, respectively. Further bioinformatics analysis revealed that GR24 treatment had a significant effect on the homeostasis and signal transduction of cytokinin and auxin. It is noteworthy that the gene expression levels of

Abstract ABSTRACTWire and Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM) with high efficiency and low-cost is an economical choice for the rapid fabrication of medium-to-large-sized metallic components and has attracted great attention from scholars and entrepreneurs in recent years. However, defects such as porosity, and humps, could occur occasionally after each layer of deposition on weld bead surfaces due to disturbances and process abnormities. Detection and quantitative evaluation of weld bead defects is crucial to ensure successful deposition and the quality of the entire component. In this paper, a novel defect detection and evaluation system was developed for WAAM utilizing machine vision technology. The system incorporated new defect detection algorithms based on analysing the 2D curvature of the weld bead height curve and the 3D curvature of the weld bead point cloud. Furthermore, a defect evaluation algorithm was developed based on reconstructing the normal weld bead contour using geometric features extracted from the accumulated point cloud. This system enables the automatic detection of weld bead morphology during the WAAM process, offering important information about the location, type, and volume of defects for effective interlayer repairs and enhanced part quality.

Abstract TMDs based heterostructure have drawn much attention for its potential application in photoelectric devices benefiting from the rapid and effective carrier separation and ultra-long interlayer exciton lifetime. Recent studies on carrier dynamics of TMDs based heterostructures are mainly focused on the transfer process of photo-generated carriers across the interface and lifetime of interlayer exciton but little attention is paid on the dynamics of hot carriers. Here, the carrier dynamics of hot carriers in MoS
