Abstract Yichang is a city in central China in the Hubei Province. This study aimed to estimate the dynamics of the transmissibility of hepatitis C using a mathematical model and predict the transmissibility of hepatitis C in 2030. Data of hepatitis C cases from 13 counties or districts (cities) in Yichang from 2008 to 2016 were collected. A susceptible-infectious-chronic-recovered (SICR) model was developed to fit the data. The transmissibility of hepatitis C at the counties or districts was calculated based on new infections (including infected or chronically infected cases) reported monthly in the city caused by one infectious individual (MNI). The trend of the MNI was fitted and predicted using 11 models, with the coefficient of determination (R

Abstract: ... This research used healthcare data to analyze the epidemiological characteristics of OA in Yichang City, Hubei ...

Abstract What is already known about this topic?: OA has been listed as the fastest increasing major public health problem and ranked second as a cause of disability by World Health Organization (WHO). With population aging, osteoarthritis (OA) is causing an increased economic burden for individuals and society and is attracting an increasing amount of scientific attention.
What is added by this report?: This research used healthcare data to analyze the epidemiological characteristics of OA in Yichang City, Hubei Province, China. The exact number and distribution of patients were obtained, and a descriptive analysis of OA visits by age, gender, and season was performed. Knee joint disease among women was most common, followed by other joint diseases. Knee osteoarthritis was the most common OA diagnosis between 60 and 69 years of age.
What are the implications for public health practice?: In China, the prevalence of OA among middle-age and elderly people was high. With increases in the size of the elderly population, the burden of disease caused by OA may increase. It is necessary to strengthen publicity to improve people's awareness of self-health care of bone and joint. Interventions and preventive strategies targeting high-risk groups are urgently needed in order to improve healthy bones and healthy life quality among middle-age and elderly people.

Abstract: ... diagnosed with COVID-19 in Yichang Central People's Hospital and Yichang Third People's Hospital between ...

Abstract Background: Cardiac injury is a common condition among hospitalized coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients, and is associated with a higher risk of mortality. However, the mechanism of myocardial injury in COVID-19 remains unclear. In this retrospective study, we compared the clinical characteristics of COVID-19 patients with different troponin I (TnI) levels during hospitalization to provide a clinical reference for the identification of those at high-risk.
Methods: In total, 218 patients diagnosed with COVID-19 in Yichang Central People's Hospital and Yichang Third People's Hospital between January 23 and February 19, 2020 were initially included. Of these patients, 89 underwent TnI testing during hospitalization and were finally included in the study. The medical history, clinical signs and symptoms at the time of admission, and laboratory test results were recorded. The patients were assigned to the normal TnI group (TnI <0.01 µg/L; n=67) or the elevated TnI group (TnI >0.01 µg/L; n=22).
Results: The incidence of elevated TnI in our patient cohort was 24.7%. There were significant differences between the two groups in the following factors: history of coronary heart disease (CHD), age, lymphocyte count, prothrombin time (PT), activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT), and levels of interleukin (IL)-6, C-reactive protein (CRP), myoglobin (MYO), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), and albumin (all P<0.05). Binary logistic analysis showed that a history of CHD, age, lymphocyte count, IL-6, APTT, and MYO were influencing factors of elevated serum TnI.
Conclusions: A history of CHD, advanced age, decreased lymphocyte count, increased IL-6, increased MYO, and prolonged APTT were independent influencing factors of elevated TnI in COVID-19 patients. COVID-19 patients with these characteristics are prone to myocardial injury.

Abstract Reasonable stope structural parameters are very important to ensure the safety and efficiency of mining. In this paper, based on the elastic-plastic constitutive model of Mohr-Coulomb strength criterion, the reasonable span and critical span are calculated by using simply supported beam theory and mine room width calculation formula. PLAXIS2D finite element analysis software was used to conduct numerical simulation research on 7 m × 9 m, 5 m × 12 m stope structure parameter schemes and 7 m × 9m, 5 m × 12 m waste rock filling schemes. The optimal structure parameters of the stope were determined based on the calculation and analysis of displacement variation rule, surrounding rock stress distribution and plastic zone. The analysis and simulation results show that Case 1 one-time mining 7 m × 9 m and Case 3 one-time mining 5 m × 12 m, the plastic zone is connected, the simulation calculation is not convergent, and the stope is unstable. Case 2 waste rock filling 7 m × 9 m and Case 4 waste rock filling 5 m × 12 m, the distribution and change of stress, displacement and plastic zone in the goaf under the two cases are compared, and finally the waste rock filling 7 m × 9 m is obtained can improve the economy and safety of mining in the mining area, and verify the feasibility of implementing stope structural parameters and waste rock filling mining system is verified.

Abstract: ... in Yichang, Hubei province of China, were used to react with sodium persulfate (Na₂S₂O₈) at different ...

Abstract Oxidant stimulation is a promising technology for shale permeability enhancement, but it is still faced with the problem of produced water with high total dissolved solids. For the consideration of environmental protection and water reuse, the mobility of trace elements (TEs) should be evaluated before the in-situ application of this technology. In this study, carbonate-rich shale and silicate-rich shale, collected in Yichang, Hubei province of China, were used to react with sodium persulfate (Na₂S₂O₈) at different experimental conditions. The sequential chemical extraction was used to analyze the occurrence of TEs in shales and their mobilization mechanism. Influence factors including oxidant concentration, solid:liquid ratio, initial pH and temperature were systematically investigated to explore their effect on the mobility of TEs. Results showed that a similar affinity between TEs and fractionation phases was observed in both two shales. Tough the TEs associated with residual fraction was most obvious in shales, various associations between TEs and other extractable fractions were also apparent, such as Co (61.7% on average) and Cu (59.2% on average) in organic matter-bound fraction, and Sr (53.2% on average) in carbonates-bound fraction. The occurrence of TEs determined their extent of mobilization during oxidant stimulation, and the complex interactions including acidization, oxidation, adsorption and precipitation influence the mobility of TEs as well. The carbonate minerals and pyrite were both critical minerals for decreasing the mobility of TEs. Carbonate minerals in shale could effectively buffer the pH of the system to mitigate the acidization reaction. The near-neutral environment was also beneficial for the Fe(OH)₃ precipitation then resulted in the fixation of TEs through adsorption. Besides, the generated gypsum from carbonate dissolution also contributed to the incorporation of TEs. Meanwhile, sulfate generated from pyrite oxidation and persulfate hydrolysis also directly precipitated with TEs such as Ba and Sr to reduce their dissolved content in the reaction system. Influence factors analysis showed that the mobility of TEs was strongly dependent on the oxidant concentration and solid: liquid ratio and to a lesser extent on the temperature and initial pH. Considering the environmental risk and water management cost, systematic investigation on shale composition and associated TEs, and optimization of engineering parameters should be carried out before the in-situ application of this technology.

Abstract Business model is a conceptual framework about value creation, management innovation, and strategy execution in organizations. As an important tool to promote the industry development and corporation governance, business model has been widely applied to study the foundation and development of waste recycling and utilization industry, only qualitatively. In this paper, by integrating system dynamics into an adapted business model canvas, a novel dynamic business model (DBM) is constructed to thoroughly diagnose the causal connections among the blocks of business model canvas, and systematically and numerically value the output of comprehensive performance, which is especially suitable for evaluating the impacts of policy intervention on industry development, quantitatively. In search of proper policy intervention with effective and positive impacts on the development of solid waste recycling industry, this novel DBM was then applied to phosphogypsum (PG) recycling in Yichang to analyze the behaviors of various subjects, including government, enterprises, and consumers, in the market of PG recycling. To effectively assess the development of PG recycling, there are two subsystems, production and distribution, within this novel DBM to quantitatively simulate the effects and effectiveness of policy intervention under four different policy scenarios, mandatory policy, technology-driven policy, promoting policy, and mixed policy. Affected by the synergy effects of diverse policies, the profit of PG recycling can be significantly increased to reach 2.94 × 10⁹ CNY (12.02 times higher than that under mandatory policy), market vitality can be truly boosted, and the rate of PG recycling can also be remarkably raised by 3.94 times to greatly promote the sustainable development of PG recycling. This novel DBM can effectively promote industry development by quantifying the values and effects of policy intervention on the development of solid waste recycling industry.
