Abstract The exigencies of managing acutely ill residents within nursing homes have led to an increase in ambulance conveyances to the emergency department. This is further compounded by a shortage of adequately trained nursing staff and on-site physicians available around the clock. An acute regional hospital, strategically located in the epicenter of nursing home facilities in Singapore, encountered this challenge on its inception in 2018 within the northeast region. In response, the institution initiated a collaboration, EAGLEcareACT (Enhancing Advance Care Planning, Geriatrics, and End-of-Life Care Acute Care Team), aimed at rectifying the prevailing care disparities between neighboring nursing homes and the hospital. Within the EAGLEcareACT, a systematic and comprehensive approach was undertaken to engage diverse nursing homes, delineate precise needs, and establish mutually shared objectives. This encompassed the provisioning of monitoring of patients treated for acute medical conditions, structured training programs for nursing staff and aids in advance care planning. Teleconsultations with EAGLEcareACT team obviate the immediate necessity for conveyance to the emergency department.

Abstract Objectives: To assess art initiatives and programmes communicating health messages and during the COVID-19 pandemic in Malaysia from 2020 to 2021.
    Study design: Qualitative narrative study.
Methods: Grey literature on COVID-19 art initiatives and programmes in Malaysia was reviewed.
Results: The art initiatives and efforts in Malaysia to promote health and wellness during the COVID-19 pandemic were compelling and notable. These initiatives can be classified into five major categories, namely performing arts, visual arts, culture, literature and digital art. The main health messages conveyed through these initiatives included public education regarding COVID-19, health precautionary steps recommended for the public, and solidarity in the fight against COVID-19. These art initiatives cultivated positive responses from the public and increased their awareness of COVID-19.
Conclusion: From the public health perspective, the use of arts to educate and create awareness of COVID-19 in Malaysia were encouraging. The public is made more informed and prepared to face the challenges ahead.

Abstract Scabies is a significant public health condition in long-term care facilities, plaguing even developed countries. Although treatments are available, eradication and control of scabies cases still remain a challenge due to delays in diagnosis and difficulties in maintaining preventive and surveillance measures. Prompt treatment of patients and their contacts that are affected, along with concomitant education of health staff and family members, are paramount. Environmental disinfestation is also a concern.

Abstract A 78-year-old Chinese man with a history of end-stage renal disease (ESRD) presented with fever of one-day duration. He was treated for catheter-related sepsis with intravenous piperacillin and tazobactam, which was later switched to vancomycin and ceftazidime secondary to persistent fever with negative cultures. On the fifth day of treatment with vancomycin and ceftazidime, he developed new-onset upper limb myoclonus which progressed to bilateral upper limb ataxia. A provisional diagnosis of myoclonus and ataxia secondary to neurotoxicity related to ceftazidime was made and the ceftazidime was ceased. His symptoms resolved over three days and he returned to his baseline neurological status by day 5 following cessation.
