    Abstract We study the ratio of $R=2 \Gamma(\Xi_c^0 \to \Xi^- e^+ \nu_e )/3\Gamma(\Lambda_c^+ \to \Lambda e^+ \nu_e )$, which is found to be $R= 1 (0.8)$ from the exact (broken) $SU(3)$ flavor symmetry, in sharp contrast to the average value of $R_{av}=0.59\pm 0.10 $ from the ALICE collaboration and lattice QCD results. We propose to use the mixing of $\Xi_c-\Xi_c'$ to resolve the puzzle. With the model-independent mass relations, we find that the mixing angle is $|\theta_c| = 0.137(5)\pi$, which suppresses $\Xi_c\to \Xi e^+ \nu_e$ about $20\%$ model-independently, resulting in $R\approx 0.6$ with the $SU(3)$ flavor breaking effect. We explicitly demonstrate that $R= 0.70 \pm 0.09$ from the bag model, which is also consistent with $R_{av}$. To test the mixing mechanism, we recommend the experiments to measure the decays of $\Xi_c \to \Xi '(1530) e^+ \nu_e$, whose branching fractions are determined to be $ ( 4.4\sim 8.7)\times 10^{-3}$ and $(1.3\sim 2.6 )\%$ for $\Xi_c^0$ and $\Xi_c^+$, respectively, but vanish without the mixing. In addition, nonvanishing values of ${\cal B}(\Xi_c^+\to \Xi^{\prime 0} (1530)\pi^+ )$ and ${\cal B}(\Xi_c^+\to \Sigma^{\prime +} (1530) \overline{K}^0 )$ will also be evidences of the mixing based on the K\"oner-Pati-Woo theorem, which are calculated as $(3.8\sim 7.5)\times 10^{-3}$ and $(6.6\sim 13)\times 10 ^{-4}$, respectively. We emphasize that $\theta_c$ is sizable and should be given serious considerations in future studies on the heavy baryon systems.

    Abstract Pollen tube (PT) elongation is important for double fertilization in angiosperms and affects the seed-setting rate and, therefore, crop productivity. Compared to Arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana L.), information on PT elongation in rice (Oryza sativa L.) is limited by the difficulty in obtaining homozygous mutants. In a screen of T-DNA insertional mutants, we identified a mutant in the Tethering protein of actomyosin transport in pollen tube elongation (TAPE) gene with an unusual segregation ratio by genotyping analysis. A CRISPR/Cas9 knockout mutant of TAPE that produced a short PT was sterile, and TAPE was expressed specifically in pollen grains. TAPE is a homolog of a myosin XI adaptor in Arabidopsis with three tetratricopeptide repeat and Phox and Bem1 protein domains. TAPE showed latrunculin B-sensitive, actin-dependent localization to the endoplasmic reticulum. Yeast two-hybrid screening and transcriptome analysis revealed that TAPE interacted with pollen-specific LIM protein 2b and elongation factor 1-alpha. Loss of TAPE affected transcription of 1,259 genes, especially genes related to cell organization, which were downregulated. In summary, TAPE encodes a myosin XI adaptor essential for rice PT elongation.

    Abstract Cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST) has become a rare but potentially life-threatening condition in perinatal women. Early and rapid identification of CVST in pregnant women is a challenge for frontline clinical workers. In this study, 40 perinatal patients with CVST in our hospital were included in the five-year period, and 120 normal perinatal pregnant women in the obstetrics and gynecology department of our hospital were randomly enrolled in the five-year period as the control group, including 60 cases in pregnancy and puerperium. 5 mL of fasting venous blood was collected from puerperal CVST patients in the acute phase of onset (within 72 h of onset) and the recovery phase (fourth week of treatment). In the control group, 5 mL of fasting venous blood was collected. Coagulation factors X, XI, and XII, plasma D-Dimer were analyzed and compared. Coagulation factors X, XI, and XII in plasma of CVST patients were significantly increased compared with controls. Plasma coagulation factors X, XI, and XII and their combined detection (Union Model = 0.056 * FX: C + 0.046 * FXI: C + 0.081 * FXII: C) have diagnostic values for perinatal CVST. Plasma coagulation factors X, XI, and XII were significantly positively correlated with plasma D-dimer levels in perinatal CVST patients. Plasma coagulation factors X, XI, and XII have diagnostic values for perinatal CVST.

    Abstract The $J/\psi \to \Xi^0 \bar{\Xi}^{0}$ process and subsequent decays are investigated using $(10087 \pm 44)\times 10^6$ $J/\psi$ events collected at the BESIII experiment. The decay parameters of $\Xi^0$ and $\bar{\Xi}^0$ are measured with greatly improved precision over previous measurements to be $\alpha_{\Xi} = -0.3750 \pm 0.0034 \pm 0.0016$, $\bar{\alpha}_{\Xi} = 0.3790 \pm 0.0034 \pm 0.0021$, $\phi_{\Xi} = 0.0051 \pm 0.0096 \pm 0.0018$~rad, $\bar{\phi}_{\Xi} = -0.0053 \pm 0.0097 \pm 0.0019$~rad, where the first and the second uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. From these measurements, precise $CP$ symmetry tests in $\Xi^0$ decay are performed, and $A^{\Xi}_{CP} = (-5.4 \pm 6.5 \pm 3.1) \times 10^{-3}$ and $\Delta\phi^{\Xi}_{CP} = (-0.1 \pm 6.9 \pm 0.9) \times 10^{-3}$~rad are consistent with $CP$ conservation. The sequential decay also enables a separation of weak and strong phase differences, which are found for the first time to be $\xi_{P}-\xi_{S} = (0.0 \pm 1.7 \pm 0.2) \times 10^{-2}$~rad and $\delta_{P}-\delta_{S} = (-1.3 \pm 1.7 \pm 0.4)\times 10^{-2}$~rad, respectively. In addition, we measure the $\Lambda$ decay parameters and test $CP$ symmetry in $\Lambda$ decays.

    Abstract To investigate the impact on the ovarian reserve after minimally invasive ovarian cystectomy using two platforms, the Da Vinci robotic system (Xi and SP) and the laparoscopic system. Patients underwent laparoscopic or Da Vinci robotic (Xi or SP) ovarian cystectomy for benign ovarian cysts between January 1, 2018, and December 31, 2022 at Guro Hospital, Korea University Medical center. We measured the change of AMH values (%) = [(postAMH - preAMH)] × 100/preAMH. No significant differences in preoperative age, cyst size, estimated blood loss during surgery, hemoglobin drop, length of hospital stay, adhesion detachment rate and cyst rupture rate were observed. However, the operative time was significantly shorter in the laparoscopic group than that in the robotic group (67.78 ± 30.58 min vs. 105.17 ± 38.87 min, p < 0.001) The mean preAMH and postAMH were significantly higher with the Da Vinci robotic group than with the laparoscopic group (preAMH: 5.89 ± 4.81 ng/mL vs. 4.01 ± 3.59 ng/mL, p = 0.02, postAMH: 4.36 ± 3.31 ng/mL vs. 3.08 ± 2.60 ng/mL, p = 0.02). However, the mean ΔAMH was not significantly different between two groups. ΔAMH also did not demonstrate significant differences among the three groups; laparoscopic, Xi and SP robotic. Even in the patient groups with preAMH < 2 and diagnosed with endometriosis, the ΔAMH did not show significant differences between the laparoscopic and robotic groups. The Da Vinci robotic system is no inferior to conventional laparoscopic systems in preserving ovarian function.

    Abstract Purpose: The robotic system for surgery was introduced to gastric cancer surgery in the early 2000s to overcome the shortcomings of laparoscopic surgery. The more recently introduced da Vinci Xi

    Abstract Minimally invasive surgery is usually more beneficial than open surgeries in various fields of surgery. With the newly developed Single-Port (SP) robotic surgical system, even single-site surgery has become easier to access. We compared single-incision robotic cholecystectomy between the Si/Xi and SP systems. This retrospective single-center study enrolled patients who underwent single-incision robotic cholecystectomy between July 2014 and July 2021. The clinical outcomes of the da Vinci Si/Xi and SP systems were compared. In total, 334 patients underwent single-incision robotic cholecystectomy (118 Si/Xi vs. 216 SP). The SP group had more chronic or acute cholecystitis than the Si/Xi group did. There was more bile spillage in the Si/Xi group during the surgery. The total operative and docking times were significantly shorter in the SP group. There was no difference in the postoperative outcomes. The SP system is safe and feasible regarding comparable postoperative complication rates and is more convenient regarding docking and techniques.

    Abstract Recent advancements in robotic systems have led to the introduction of the da Vinci SP system, which allows surgeons to perform colon cancer surgery through fewer ports. This study aimed to evaluate the perioperative outcomes of colon cancer surgeries conducted using the da Vinci SP and Xi systems. Patients who underwent robotic colon cancer surgeries between November 2020 and December 2022 at two tertiary referral centers were considered for inclusion. Following propensity-score matching, short-term outcomes between the two systems were retrospectively analyzed. Out of 189 patients included in the study, 106 from 53 propensity-score matched pairs were analyzed. Patients operated on with the SP system exhibited smaller incision lengths (5.0 cm vs. 9.4 cm, p < 0.001) experienced less pain at 8 h (3.0 vs. 3.5, p < 0.001) and at 24 h post-operation (2.9 vs. 3.3, p = 0.001) and had a shorter duration of hospital stay (5 days vs. 6 days, p = 0.002). The overall rate of postoperative complications was 10.4%, with no significant difference between the SP and Xi groups (7.5% vs. 13.2%). Robotic-assisted colon cancer surgery using the da Vinci SP system is feasible and demonstrates favorable short-term outcomes. Compared to the Xi system, the SP system offers advantages in terms of cosmesis, postoperative pain, and recovery duration for colon cancer patients.
