Abstract Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) have surfaced as increasingly viable components in optoelectronics and material sciences. The development of highly efficient and atom-economic tools to prepare PAHs under exceedingly mild conditions constitutes a long-term goal. Traditional syntheses of PAHs have largely relied on multistep approaches or the conventional Scholl reaction. However, Scholl reactions are largely inefficient with electron-deficient substrates, require stoichiometric chemical oxidants, and typically occur in the presence of strong acid. In sharp contrast, electrochemistry has gained considerable momentum during the past decade as an alternative for the facile and straightforward PAHs assembly, generally via electro-oxidative dehydrogenative annulation, releasing molecular hydrogen as the sole stoichiometric byproduct by the hydrogen evolution reaction. This review provides an overview on the recent and significant advances in the field of electrochemical syntheses of various PAHs until January 2023.

Abstract A 62-years old Alzheimer's disease (AD) male patient donated his Peripheral blood mononuclear cells. The non-integrating episomal vector system used to reprogram PBMCs with Oct3/4, Klf4, Sox2 and c-Myc transcription factors. The pluripotency of transgene-free pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) was confirmed by immunocytochemistry for pluripotency markers-SOX2, NANOG, OCT3/4, SSEA4, TRA1-60, and TRA1-81. The differentiation capacity of the iPSCs into endoderm, mesoderm and ectoderm was assessed by AFP, SMA and βIII-TUBULIN, respectively. In addition, the iPSC line displayed a normal karyotype. This iPSC line might offer a good cell model to explore the pathological mechanisms and treatment strategies for AD.

Abstract Autonomous vehicles can reduce labor power during cargo transportation, and then improve transportation efficiency, for example, the automated guided vehicle (AGV) in the warehouse can improve the operation efficiency. To overcome the limitations of traditional path planning algorithms in unknown environments, such as reliance on high-precision maps, lack of generalization ability, and obstacle avoidance capability, this study focuses on investigating the Deep Q-Network and its derivative algorithm to enhance network and algorithm structures. A new algorithm named APF-D3QNPER is proposed, which combines the action output method of artificial potential field (APF) with the Dueling Double Deep Q Network algorithm, and experience sample rewards are considered in the experience playback portion of the traditional Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) algorithm, which enhances the convergence ability of the traditional DRL algorithm. A long short-term memory (LSTM) network is added to the state feature extraction network part to improve its adaptability in unknown environments and enhance its spatiotemporal sensitivity to the environment. The APF-D3QNPER algorithm is compared with mainstream deep reinforcement learning algorithms and traditional path planning algorithms using a robot operating system and the Gazebo simulation platform by conducting experiments. The results demonstrate that the APF-D3QNPER algorithm exhibits excellent generalization abilities in the simulation environment, and the convergence speed, the loss value, the path planning time, and the path planning length of the APF-D3QNPER algorithm are all less than for other algorithms in diverse scenarios.

Abstract The melon (Cucumis melo L.) is a globally cherished and economically significant crop. The grafting technique has been widely used in the vegetative propagation of melon to promote environmental tolerance and disease resistance. However, mechanisms governing graft healing and potential incompatibilities in melons following the grafting process remain unknown. To uncover the molecular mechanism of healing of grafted melon seedlings, melon wild type (Control) and TRV-CmGH9B3 lines were obtained and grafted onto the squash rootstocks (C. moschata). Anatomical differences indicated that the healing process of the TRV-CmGH9B3 plants was slower than that of the control. A total of 335 significantly differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were detected between two transcriptomes. Most of these DEGs were down-regulated in TRV-CmGH9B3 grafted seedlings. GO and KEGG analysis showed that many metabolic, physiological, and hormonal responses were involved in graft healing, including metabolic processes, plant hormone signaling, plant MAPK pathway, and sucrose starch pathway. During the healing process of TRV-CmGH9B3 grafted seedlings, gene synthesis related to hormone signal transduction (auxin, cytokinin, gibberellin, brassinolide) was delayed. At the same time, it was found that most of the DEGs related to the sucrose pathway were down-regulated in TRV-CmGH9B3 grafted seedlings. The results showed that sugar was also involved in the healing process of melon grafted onto squash. These results deepened our understanding of the molecular mechanism of GH9B3, a key gene of β-1, 4-glucanase. It also provided a reference for elucidating the gene mechanism and function analysis of CmGH9B3 in the process of graft union healing.

Abstract Objective: Clopidogrel resistance may lead to the recurrence of cerebrovascular diseases. We aimed to identify potential factors associated with clopidogrel resistance and evaluate the clinical outcomes of the patients.
Materials and methods: In this retrospective study, patients with ischemic cerebrovascular disease treated with clopidogrel were included and classified into 2 groups according to the adenosine diphosphate (ADP)-induced platelet aggregation. Patients with the ADP inhibition rate of <30 % were included in clopidogrel resistance group, otherwise were included in clopidogrel sensitive group. CYP2C19 genotype and other clinical data were analyzed to identify factors and clinical features in the multivariate analysis. The outcomes were vascular events in 6 months.
Results: In total, 139 patients were enrolled with 81 (58.27 %) in clopidogrel sensitive group and 58 (41.73 %) in clopidogrel resistance group. Female and CYP2C19 *2*3 carrying were risk factors for clopidogrel resistance, and female was an independent risk factor (OR 2.481, 95 % CI 1.066-5.771, P=0.035). The clopidogrel resistance group showed a higher use rate of argatroban (P=0.030) and a lower arachidonic acid-induced inhibition of platelet aggregation (P=0.036). Clopidogrel resistance was related to the progressing stroke (HR 3.521, 95 % CI 1.352-9.170, P=0.010), but had no influence on the bleeding events (P>0.05).
Conclusions: The risk of clopidogrel resistance increased significantly in female patients. Patients with clopidogrel resistance may have an increased incidence of stroke progression in the acute phase.

Abstract Background: Syphilis is a sexually transmitted disease that threatens human health worldwide. However, the immune regulation cascade caused by treponemia pallidum (TP) infection remains still largely unclear.
Methods: To investigate the expression of ISGs in secondary syphilis (SS), we recruited 64 patients with SS and equal number of healthy participants to obtain their peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs). qRT-PCR was performed to estimate the expression of interferon-stimulated genes (ISGs) including CXCL10, OAS3, OAS1, MX1, IFIT3, IFIT2, IFI6 and AIM2. Receiver-operating characteristic (ROC) analysis was adapted to diagnostic value of these genes to distinguish healthy controls and patients with SS.
Results: ISGs including CXCL10, OAS3, OAS1, MX1, IFIT3, IFIT2, IFI6 and AIM2 were all upregulated in PBMCs of patients with SS. Area under the ROC curve (AUC) of the 8 ISGs were all more than 0.5. IFIT3 exhibited the highest diagnostic value, followed by AIM2, IFIT2 and CXCL10, according to the Yoden Index.
Conclusion: ISGs including CXCL10, OAS3, OAS1, MX1, IFIT3, IFIT2, IFI6 and AIM2 were upregulated in patients with SS and they have diagnostic value for syphilis.
