    Abstract Administration of intramuscular, intraarterial or subcutaneous injection of particular drugs ends up into a rare entity known as Nicolau syndrome (NS). The viscous nature of these drugs sometimes triggers acute vasospasm and even arterial embolism. There is no consensus on treatment of NS so far. Phasic treatments depend on the extent of the necrotic lesion and ranges from medication to surgical debridement. Here we report a case of 60 year female known case of Knee Osteoarthritis who was dependent on Diclofenac injection IM for relief of pain. She presented with complaints of fever with chills, rigors, discoloration of skin at the gluteal region right side, later turned into necrosis of skin and adipose tissue, pus formation and associated with loss of appetite, dryness of mouth, pedal oedema. The case was diagnosed as NS according to contemporary science and Kotha (Gangrene) as per Ayurveda. The case was treated successfully with Chedana karma (Surgical debridement) followed by Vrana shodhana (making free from undesirable healing factors), Ropana (Closure of wound) and oral medications.

    Abstract Purpose: To document baseline cervical sagittal characteristics in Lenke 1 adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) patients and assess the alteration in these parameters with surgery.
    Methods: Pre-operative and 2-year postoperative radiographs of 82 Lenke 1 AIS patients recruited from five hospitals were analysed. Selected radiographic parameters capturing regional and global sagittal alignment were measured. Comparison was made between groups based on baseline thoracic kyphosis (TK: TK < 20°, TK ≥ 20°). Pre-operative and postoperative values were compared-the change in each radiographic parameter was correlated with the degree of sagittal and coronal correction.
    Results: At baseline, TK was 29.8° ± 16°, cervical lordosis (CL) was - 1° ± 14°, lumbar lordosis (LL) was - 57.1° ± 21°, C2-C7 sagittal vertical axis (SVA) was 16 ± 14 mm and C7-S1 SVA was - 15 ± 28 mm; 44% of patients had cervical kyphosis. Patients with thoracic hypokyphosis had a significantly lower LL and more kyphotic cervical spine compared to those with thoracic normohyperkyphosis. The effect of surgery on TK depended on pre-operative thoracic sagittal alignment-TK increased in patients with thoracic hypokyphosis, but decreased in patients with thoracic normohyperkyphosis. Neither CL nor C2-C7 SVA changed significantly with surgery; 46% of patients still had cervical kyphosis postoperatively.
    Conclusion: There is a high incidence of cervical kyphosis at baseline in AIS patients-more so in those with pre-operative thoracic hypokyphosis. Unlike TK, CL is not significantly altered with surgery-improvement in CL correlates weakly with sagittal correction of the structural curve.

    Abstract Six blast‐resistant pearl millet genotypes, ICMB 93333, ICMB 97222, ICMR 06444, ICMR 06222, ICMR 11003 and IP 21187‐P1, were crossed with two susceptible genotypes, ICMB 95444 and ICMB 89111 to generate F1s, F2s and backcrosses, BC1P1 (susceptible parent × F1) and BC1P2 (resistant parent × F1) for inheritance study. The resistant genotypes were crossed among themselves in half diallel to generate F1s and F2s for test of allelism. The F1, F2 and backcross generations, and their parents were screened in a glasshouse against Magnaporthe grisea isolates Pg 45 and Pg 53. The reaction of the F1s, segregation pattern of F2s and BC1P1 derived from crosses involving two susceptible parents and six resistant parents revealed the presence of single dominant gene governing resistance in the resistant genotypes. No segregation for blast reaction was observed in the F2s derived from the crosses of resistant × resistant parents. The resistance reaction of these F2s indicated that single dominant gene conferring resistance in the six genotypes is allelic, that is same gene imparts blast resistance in these genotypes to M. grisea isolates.

    Abstract The word Shvitra means in Sanskrit is Shvitra, which is white patch, without Kandu and inflammation, it present on anywhere of body, In this disease white spots or white discoloration takes place on the skin so it is named as Shvitra. Vitiligo is a long-term condition where pale white patches develop on the skin. It's caused by the lack of melanin, a pigment in the skin. In modern Science PUVA therapy and corticosteroid are used for treatment of disease but they may cause very harmful effect like skin burn, nausea dermatoheliosis that is ultraviolet ageing of skin. There is need Safe easier less complicate cost effective Ayurvedic treatment. Abhyanga stimulates Bhrajjak pitta which is present in the skin and helps restoring color. Jyotishamati Taila has extra medicinal property so it treats disease more comfortably.

    Abstract Results are presented from a search for heavy, right-handed muon neutrinos, N(μ), and right-handed W(R) bosons, which arise in the left-right symmetric extensions of the standard model. The analysis is based on a 5.0  fb(-1) sample of proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 7 TeV, collected by the CMS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. No evidence is observed for an excess of events over the standard model expectation. For models with exact left-right symmetry, heavy right-handed neutrinos are excluded at 95% confidence level for a range of neutrino masses below the W(R) mass, dependent on the value of M(W(R)). The excluded region in the two-dimensional (M(W(R)), M(N(μ)) mass plane extends to M(W(R))=2.5  TeV.

    Abstract Six blast‐resistant pearl millet genotypes, ICMB 93333, ICMB 97222, ICMR 06444, ICMR 06222, ICMR 11003 and IP 21187‐P1, were crossed with two susceptible genotypes, ICMB 95444 and ICMB 89111 to generate F1s, F2s and backcrosses, BC1P1 (susceptible parent × F1) and BC1P2 (resistant parent × F1) for inheritance study. The resistant genotypes were crossed among themselves in half diallel to generate F1s and F2s for test of allelism. The F1, F2 and backcross generations, and their parents were screened in a glasshouse against Magnaporthe grisea isolates Pg 45 and Pg 53. The reaction of the F1s, segregation pattern of F2s and BC1P1 derived from crosses involving two susceptible parents and six resistant parents revealed the presence of single dominant gene governing resistance in the resistant genotypes. No segregation for blast reaction was observed in the F2s derived from the crosses of resistant × resistant parents. The resistance reaction of these F2s indicated that single dominant gene conferring resistance in the six genotypes is allelic, that is same gene imparts blast resistance in these genotypes to M. grisea isolates.

    Abstract The current endeavor intended to evaluate the effectiveness and mode of action of Anuloma-Viloma Pranayama (AVP), i.e., alternate nasal breathing exercise, in resolving clinical features of Pratishyaya, i.e., rhinosinusitis. The present study was directed to validate the use of classical "saccharin test" in measuring the nasal health by measuring mucociliary clearance time. This study also highlights the effects of AVP by application of Bernoulli principle in ventilation of paranasal sinuses and surface oxygenation of nasal and paranasal sinuses ciliary epithelium. Clinically, endoscopically and radiologically diagnosed patients of Pratishyaya, i.e., rhinosinusitis, satisfying the inclusion criteria were selected to perform AVP as a breathing exercise regularly for 30 min every day in order to evaluate the effectiveness of AVP in resolving features of rhinosinusitis. Saccharin test was performed before and after completion of 40 days trial to assess the nasal ciliary activity, which has been proved to be directly related to the health of ciliary epithelium and nasal health overall as well. AVP may be regarded as a catalyst to conspicuously enhance ventilation and oxygenation of the paranasal sinuses and the positively effect the nasal respiratory epithelium by increasing better surface availability of oxygen and negative pressure in the nasal cavity itself.
