Abstract Objective: To summarize the product registration declaration ideas and registration technical review of the all-inside meniscal suture system, and to systematically think about of the technical review concerns of the all-inside meniscal suture system products to provide technical guidance for improving the quality of registration and application and regulatory efficiency.
Methods: Consult the public information of such products at home and abroad, and summarize the experience of registration review of such products.
Results: The technical review of the all-inside meniscus suture system registration mainly focuses on product basic information, pre-clinical research, clinical evaluation and product technical requirements.
Conclusions: The difficulty of product registration and declaration of the all-inside meniscus suture system lies in the provision of pre-clinical research data of the product, and the applicant needs to strengthen the basic research ability, formulate scientific technical indicators and test methods to ensure the safety and effectiveness of the product, and also provide sufficient supporting data for the registration declaration.

Abstract In this paper, a spectral–spatial anomaly detection method based on tensor de-composition is proposed. Firstly, tensor data is used to represent hyperspectral data to retain its original spectral and spatial information. Second, this method reconstructs the hyperspectral data into low-rank tensors and sparse tensors. This method uses the weighted tensor Schatten-p norm minimization (WTSNM) to stand for rank minimization. WTSNM treats different singular values differently. Finally, the reconstructed sparse tensor is used as input data and the LRX method is used to detect abnormal targets. As this approach can effectively utilize the spectral information and spatial information of hyperspectral images, it greatly improves detection accuracy, experimental results on five real data sets demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms several state-of-the-art algorithms.

Abstract Forest aboveground biomass (AGB) plays a key role in assessing forest productivity. In this study, we extracted individual tree structural parameters using backpack LiDAR, assessed their accuracy using terrestrial laser scanning (TLS) data and field measurements as reference values, and reconstructed 3D models of trees based on parameter-optimized quantitative structural models (AdQSM). The individual tree AGB was estimated based on individual tree volumes obtained from the tree model reconstruction, combined with the basic wood density values of specific tree species. In addition, the AGB calculated using the allometric biomass models was validated to explore the feasibility of nondestructive estimation of individual tree AGB by backpack LiDAR. We found that (1) the backpack LiDAR point cloud extracted individual tree diameter at breast height (DBH) with high accuracy. In contrast, the accuracy of the tree height extraction was low; (2) the optimal parameter values of the AdQSM reconstruction models for Larix gmelinii and Betula platyphylla were HS = 0.4 m and HS = 0.6 m, respectively; (3) the individual tree AGB estimated based on the backpack LiDAR and AdQSM fit well with the reference values. Our study confirms that backpack LiDAR can nondestructively estimate individual tree AGB, which can provide a reliable basis for further forest resource management and carbon stock estimation.

Abstract The ossicular replacement prosthesis should have good biocompatibility, stability, easy to install, and excellent sound transmission capacity. In this study, the characteristics of ideal materials for the ossicular replacement prosthesis were analyzed by searching the types of materials used in clinical practice and comparing the advantages and disadvantages of various materials and structures. At the same time, in combination with the current evaluation requirements and evaluation experience, the focus of the performance research project of ossicular replacement prosthesis in the process of registration is discussed to clarify the performance evaluation requirements of these products, so as to provide reference for the future work of manufacturers and regulators. The performance evaluation of ossicular replacement prosthesis focuses on its mechanical properties, fixation stability, sound transmission characteristics, biological characteristics, and magnetic resonance compatibility.

Abstract With the advantages of inflatable bone expander in the treatment of osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures, the number of applications for registration of such products is increasing. Based on the characteristics of the medical device, this article analyzed and summarized the relevant requirements for the basic information, product performance research, product manufacturing, clinical evaluation, and product instructions that should be focused on the registration application dossiers, as well as comply with the requirements of CMDE. The focus of the registration application for Inflatable Bone Expander should be the standardization of the application dossiers, while the difficulty was the scientific rationality of the research data. Comments and suggestions are provided to relevant practitioners on standardization of registration application dossiers. It may help them to optimize the quality of registration application dossiers while improve the efficiency of registration applications.

Abstract In recent years, new orthopaedic implantable devices continue to emerge, which require higher requirements for technical evaluation. Animal study is an important part of the research and development process for the new orthopedic implantable devices, which provides relevant evidence for product design and stereotyping. By introducing the purpose of animal study, and the application of 3R principle (replacement, reduction, refinement) in this field, we summarize the concern on the animal study, in order to provide reference for the development and research of new orthopedic implantable devices and biomaterials. At the same time, the application of evidence-based research methods such as systematic review in the field is introduced, which provides new tools and approaches for the technical review and regulatory science.

Abstract The on-going global pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by a novel coronavirus called severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has been underway for about 11 months. Through November 20, 2020, 51 detection kits for SARS-CoV-2 nucleic acids (24 kits), antibodies (25 kits), or antigens (2 kits) have been approved by the National Medical Products Administration of China (NMPA). Convenient and reliable SARS-CoV-2 detection assays are urgently needed worldwide for strategic control of the pandemic. In this review, the detection kits approved in China are summarised and the three types of tests, namely nucleic acid, serological and antigen detection, which are available for the detection of COVID-19 are discussed in detail. The development of novel detection kits will lay the foundation for the control and prevention of the COVID-19 pandemic globally.
