Abstract Although it is generally known that the type A behavior pattern (TABP) is associated with high blood pressure, recent studies have not consistently supported this association. Therefore, it is important to determine which factors moderate and mediate this relationship. The purpose of this study was to verify the moderated mediation effect of age and relaxation in the relationship between TABP and high blood pressure among middle-aged adults in South Korea. This study utilized data from the Korea Health and Genome Study (KHGS) supported by the Korea National Institute of Health. The participants in the present study were 10,022 Korean adults aged 40 to 69. To identify the conditional indirect effect of TABP on blood pressure through relaxation, with a consideration of age, a moderated mediation model using SPSS PROCESS macro 3.10 was applied. As is generally known, TABP was associated with high blood pressure, but its relevance was reversed through relaxation. Moreover, this relationship was moderated by age, which is known to be the most powerful predictor of high blood pressure. The lower age group with TABP exhibited a higher relaxation, whereas the higher age group with TABP demonstrated a lower relaxation. The findings demonstrate the need for relaxation education, stress management, or counseling to help individuals recognize their behavior patterns and strengthen the willingness and motivation for relaxation, especially among elderly people with TABP, in order to manage their blood pressure effectively.

Abstract This study investigated information spillovers across crude oil time series at different time scales, using a network combined with a wavelet transform. It can detect the oil price, which plays an important role in the dynamic process of spillovers, and it can also analyze the dynamic feature of systematic risk based on entropy at different scales. The results indicate that the network structure changes with time, and the important roles of an oil price can be identified. WTI and Brent act as important spillover transmitters, and other prices are important spillover receivers at a scale. With the increase in time scale, both the number of neighbors and the importance of spillovers of Brent and WTI as spillover transmitters show downward trends. The importance for spillovers of China-Shengli and Dubai as spillover receivers shows a downward trend. This paper provides new evidence for explaining WTI and Brent as global benchmark oil prices. In addition, systematic risk is time-varying, and it is smaller at short-term scale than at long-term scale. The trend of systematic risk is also discussed when typical oil-related events occur. This paper provides a new perspective for exploring dynamic spillovers and systematic risk that offers important implications for policymakers and market investors.

Abstract Background: This research delves into the role of stereotypes and emotional prejudice in behavioral intentions, particularly towards individuals with suicidal tendencies. The study extends the cognitive-affective-behavioral process model, identifying pathways that negative stereotypes use to impact emotional responses and behavioral intentions.
Methods: A cross-sectional online survey was conducted in South Korea, utilizing the largest Korean online panel (1,623,938 users) to recruit 552 eligible participants (49.1% male, 50.9% female) aged 20 and above with online access and no history of suicide attempts. The survey assessed negative stereotypes, prejudices, and behavioral intentions related to suicidal thoughts, employing specific measurements.
Results: The findings established the correlation between negative stereotypes and both stigmatized emotional responses and discriminatory intentions. The study uniquely demonstrated that emotional responses act as a bridge between negative stereotypes and behavioral intentions towards suicidal individuals. These findings carry profound implications for health psychology, emphasizing the necessity of modifying attitudes to reduce suicide stigma. It was observed that stereotypical perceptions fuel negative emotions, which in turn provoke various behavioral intentions.
Conclusions: The study enhances our understanding of the influential role emotional reactions can have in shaping attitudes. It points towards the potential that addressing emotions holds in the stigma process, enabling people to shift their attitudes about stigmatized individuals, thus establishing intervention opportunities for stigma reduction in health psychology.

Abstract This study aims to explore the correlation between different social support patterns and perinatal mental health, and the mediating role of social trust in this. A cross-sectional survey was conducted in Jiangsu, China, with a sample size of 1705 pregnant respondents. Latent class analysis (LCA) was utilized to identify various social support patterns, while a multiple regression model was employed to analyze the mediating effect of social trust on the relationship between social support patterns and perinatal mental health. The study found four distinct social support patterns among the respondents: primary relationship-centric support, overall weak support, primary-secondary relationship-balanced support, and overall strong support. In the relationship between social support patterns and perinatal mental health, social trust played both a partial and full mediating role. The findings indicate that a social support system that enhances maternal trust and promotes honest disclosure of symptoms can effectively promote perinatal mental health.

Abstract Educators have recently garnered significant focus for the crucial role they play, particularly concerning their emotions. These emotions have the potential to either boost their progress in their profession or hinder their progress, like burnout which may trigger or intensify poor mental health and quit the job. Burnout arises from the intermittent occurrence of emotional distress among English as a foreign language (EFL) educators as they fulfill their professional duties. To shed more light on the issue, it is fundamental to contemplate the teacher's belief in their capabilities, known as self-efficacy, which can reduce the probability of burnout and prevent work-related stress while also promoting beneficial results. Moreover, it has been evidenced that the vital role of educators' well-being is prominent in this procedure. Therefore, the importance of these two constructs concerning the impact they have on teacher burnout was taken into consideration in this study. To achieve this objective, a group of 403 English educators participated in the measurement of the concepts being studied. To scrutinize the causal connections between the variables, a Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) approach was employed. The study showed that teachers' efficacy in their ability to perform their job effectively was responsible for explaining 82 % of changes in burnout, while their level of well-being played a role in accounting for 42 % of changes in teachers' burnout levels. The data disclosed that while every factor independently contributed to burnout, the self-efficacy of the teachers held greater influence as a predictor of burnout in comparison to their well-being. Ultimately, particular academic suggestions are specified.

Abstract Objective: To compare different methods for calculating sample size based on confidence interval estimation for a single proportion with different event incidences and precisions.
Methods: We compared 7 methods, namely Wald, AgrestiCoull add z2, Agresti-Coull add 4, Wilson Score, Clopper-Pearson, Mid-p, and Jefferys, for confidence interval estimation for a single proportion. The sample size was calculated using the search method with different parameter settings (proportion of specified events and half width of the confidence interval [ω=0.05, 0.1]). With Monte Carlo simulation, the estimated sample size was used to simulate and compare the width of the confidence interval, the coverage of the confidence interval and the ratio of the noncoverage probability.
Results: For a high accuracy requirement (ω =0.05), the Mid-p method and Clopper Pearson method performed better when the incidence of events was low (
Conclusion: Different sample size determination methods based on confidence interval estimation should be selected for single proportions with different parameter settings.

Abstract Objective: To compare the predictive ability of two extended Cox models in nonlinear survival data analysis.
Methods: Through Monte Carlo simulation and empirical study and with the conventional Cox Proportional Hazards model and Random Survival Forests as the reference models, we compared restricted cubic spline Cox model (Cox_RCS) and DeepSurv neural network Cox model (Cox_DNN) for their prediction ability in nonlinear survival data analysis. Concordance index was used to evaluate the differentiation of the prediction results (a larger concordance index indicates a better prediction ability of the model). Integrated Brier Score was used to evaluate the calibration degree of the prediction (a smaller index indicates a better prediction ability).
Results: For data that met requirement of the proportion risk, the Cox_RCS model had the best prediction ability regardless of the sample size or deletion rate. For data that failed to meet the proportion risk, the prediction ability of Cox_DNN was optimal for a large sample size (≥500) with a low deletion (< 40%); the prediction ability of Cox_RCS was superior to those of other models in all other scenarios. For example data, the Cox_RCS model showed the best performance.
Conclusion: In analysis of nonlinear low maintenance data, Cox_RCS and Cox_DNN have their respective advantages and disadvantages in prediction. The conventional survival analysis methods are not inferior to machine learning or deep learning methods under certain conditions.
