Abstract Buchanania lanzan Spreng commonly known as Chironji or Cuddapha almond is a medium size semi evergreen tree with straight cylindrical trunk. It is a commercially important minor fruit tree species found in southern Uttar Pradesh and central part of India. The species is well known for its kernel which has high nutritive value with rich source of fat, protein and minerals. This species is depleting very fast from its natural habitat due to natural and anthropogenic activities. In order to augment depletion species domestication on farmers filed is the need of time which requires well standardized nursery techniques Due to poor rate of seed germination, method and depth of sowing is an important aspect of nursery for Buchanania lanzan which needs to be standardized. Keeping these points in view the present study was done at SHIATS, Allahabad during year 201-13 Experiment was conducted under randomized block design under which Chironji seeds were sown in poly bags at soil surface, 0.50, 1.0, 2.0,3.0 and 4.0 cmdepths. Results indicated that different sowing depths have highly significant effect on germination parameters. Maximum germination percentage (83%) was observed at surface sowing followed by 0.50 cm depth (70%). Lowest germination percentage was observed at 4.0 cmsowing depth (21%). Similar trend was also observed for other germination parameters viz. germination energy, germination speed, and germination value etc. Therefore, surface sowing and 0.50 cm sowing depth may be preferred for Buchanania lanzan seeds sowing. But under open nurseries there are more chances of damage to the seed sown at soil surface, in that condition 0.50 cm depth of sowing is most suitable.

Abstract Type 2 diabetes drug tablets containing voglibose having dose strengths of 0.2 and 0.3 mg of various brands have been examined, using laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) technique. The statistical methods such as the principal component analysis (PCA) and the partial least square regression analysis (PLSR) have been employed on LIBS spectral data for classifying and developing the calibration models of drug samples. We have developed the ratio-based calibration model applying PLSR in which relative spectral intensity ratios H/C, H/N and O/N are used. Further, the developed model has been employed to predict the relative concentration of element in unknown drug samples. The experiment has been performed in air and argon atmosphere, respectively, and the obtained results have been compared. The present model provides rapid spectroscopic method for drug analysis with high statistical significance for online control and measurement process in a wide variety of pharmaceutical industrial applications.

Abstract Prone position ventilation has been shown to decrease mortality and improve oxygenation in ARDS patients. With best of our knowledge, no study reported physiological effect of prone position in SARS- CoV-2 infected ARDS patients. In this prospective observational study, data of n=20 consecutive laboratory confirmed SARS- CoV-2 patients with severe ARDS as per Berlin definition was included. Data of 20 patients analyzed with a median (Interquartile range, IQR) age of 56 (45.5- 67) y and median (IQR) P/F ratio of 56 (54- 66) with a median (IQR) PEEP of 12 (12- 14) before initiation of prone position. Seventy-five percentage (95% CI 53.1- 88.8) patients were prone responders at 16h prone session and 50 (95% CI 29.9- 70.1) % patients were sustained responders. There was a significant decrease in plateau airway pressure (p<0.0001), peak airway pressure (p<0.0001) and driving pressure(p<0.0001) and increase in static compliance (p=0.001), P/F ratio (p<0.0001), PaO2 (p=0.0002)and SpO2 (p=0.0004) at 4h and 16h since initiation of prone session and also after return of supine position. Prone position in SARS- CoV-2 infected severe ARDS patients is associated with improvement in lung compliance and oxygenation in two- third of the patients and persisted in half of the patients.

Abstract Pediatricians often have to treat the severely ill child whose symptoms could have been prevented by exclusive breastfeeding. Nevertheless quite a few pediatricians continue to pass on inappropriate advice on breastfeeding or lack the commitment to its promotion. This paper lists the obstacles that were encountered in breastfeeding promotion among pediatricians in India and gives 17 recommendations for overcoming them.
